In the episode of Yes Prime Minister The Bishop’s Gambit: there was the following following exchange concerning a Nurse arrested in an Arab country for having of whiskey.
PM Jim Hacker: A British National is facing a barbaric punishment for a trivial offense committed in a foreign country. The Foreign Office is there to protect British nationals.
Sir Humphrey: The Foreign Office is there to protect British interests
PM Hacker: Well it’s not in her interest to be flogged
Sir Humphrey: It’s not in our interest to prevent it.
PM Hacker: Yes it is, this could hurt the government very badly.
Sir Humphrey: Well I understand that tomorrow the foreign secretary will deliver a strongly worded note of protest to the Kumranis.
PM Jim Hacker: Why can’t they do it now?
Sir Humphrey: Well we haven’t got their agreement yet! They’re seeing the Ambassador privately now, once they’ve approved the wording we’ll hand it over, then we’ll have done all we can.
This came instantly to mind when I saw this concerning our response to people being slaughtered in Afghanistan since Biden ran away.
“We are hearing from people in Afghanistan that they are getting threats from the Taliban, and we have expressed in no uncertain terms, here at the United Nations, through a very strongly-worded press statement from the Security Council, that we expect the Taliban to respect human rights including the rights of women and girls.”
Perhaps someone should explain to the Biden administration that this Yes Prime Minister segment was not a “how to” guide.
How fitting that the Yes Prime Minister segment came with a laugh track and the Biden Administration is a joke.
Very few of us Conservatives and Libertarians ever attempted to fight the political left in the area of cultural issues. We abounded Hollywood and the rest of the entertainment industry to progressives and other Marxists.
Now the vast majority of movies and television programs are a cesspool of leftist propaganda. Hardly any at all present America or its founding principles in a positive light.
America bashing is one of the most prevalent themes encountered today. Conformity, the liberal orthodoxy, and doing whatever those in authority demand have been hammered into the heads of all that partake in any form of entertainment. America’s sins of slavery and racism are constant themes, They are portrayed as being the absolute foundation and soul of this nation, which are very much far from the truth. All of the tremendous good that America has done and stands for is ignored.
Young children who watch cartoons, Disney movies, and Nickelodeon are subjected to gay and transgender brainwashing. I believe this is something that should be left out of children’s programming. Most parents are probably unaware that this going on.
The liberal brainwashing on college campuses has gone unchecked by those of us on the political right for decades. It has now spread through high schools and grade schools. A recent poll declared that more than half of all young people have been brainwashed into viewing socialism as positive and capitalism negative. No wonder so many young people voted for Biden and no wonder so many blindly follow all of the liberty destroying mandates and lockdowns. If American founding principles and civics were still taught these mandates and lockdown would have ended soon after they were attempted.
Conservatives and others on the right allowed leftists to gain almost complete control of the news industry and social media. Without the suppression of the truth about the theft of the 2020 presidential election Donald Trump would still be in office. Without the suppression of real scientific facts about the effectiveness of masks and lockdown those liberty destroying ineffective mandates would not have remained in effect for more than a week or two.
We need to take up the culture war on all fronts immediately and fight to win.

A quick reminder to everyone who thought it was OK to let the last election be stolen.
Even if we are very lucky and the end result of this Afghanistan debacle is the best care scenario which is :
The Russians DON’T take advantage of this situation annex any parts of the Ukraine they want.
The Chinese DON’T decide now is the time to take Taiwan
Iran DOESN’T feels free to develop their nukes or takes advantage of the US weapons that fleeing Afghan units are bringing with them.
The Taliban DOESN’T use their sudden acquisition of 1st world arms and drones to arm and equip Islamic Terrorists
The ISIS terrorists now freed in Afghanistan DON’T start planning attacks in the US through our porous southern border
Even if a miracle occurs and none of these obvious consequences take place there will still be tens of thousands of people in Afghanistan slaughtered by the Taliban with millions more repressed as they impose a full Islamic state on the region.
Every one of these deaths will be a direct consequence of the steal of the election and unlike the fantasy costs of “climate change” these will be real people murdered by an Islamic regime out to enforce Islamic law at home and export it abroad.
All of you who let this happen are complicit in it.
And that’s the best case scenario.
On the plus side for you it unless you are a casualty of said terror it will not likely cost you a thing personally so you will not likely care this side of judgement day.
ARNAUDVILLE LA – Being retired has its perks, one of which is that you can attend events that you could not when you had to work.
I finally was able to attend the Fete Dieu du Teche this year which takes place on August 15: the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. My husband and I are both practicing Episcopalians, or as he calls it, “Catholic Lite.” There are enough similarities in our services that I can easily follow along although as non-Catholics we are not allowed to participate in Communion.
The day begins at 8 AM with Sunday Mass in French by Bishop Douglas Deshotel at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville.
Following the Mass there will be a procession with the Blessed Sacrament and a statue of Mary and St. Joseph to the nearby boat landing. Families are encouraged to join the procession as a family and follow to the boat landing for Benediction. At 9:30 AM boats will depart in procession down the Teche toward St. Martinville, retracing the voyage made by the Acadians over 250 years ago.
August 15 is a significant date as it is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patroness of the Acadian people and of Acadiana. It is also a day that marks the 256thanniversary of the arrival of French-Canadian immigrants who brought the Catholic faith to Acadiana after enduring great trials and suffering.
Bishop Deshotel of the Diocese of Lafayette states, “Fete Dieu du Teche has become an annual celebration in commemoration of the arrival of the first Acadians from what is now Nova Scotia. They were the first examples of ethnic cleansing in the New World when they were forced to leave their homes and go into exile because of their Catholic Faith at the end of the French and Indian War. A large number of them found their homes in South Louisiana which was Catholic and French. Many settlements were established along the Teche river where they built Churches, homes and a new life.
We stay in Arnaudville, Louisiana five weeks of the year, spread throughout the year; our place in Arnaudville is on Bayou Teche and half a block from the church. We watched the French mass via live stream then walked down to the landing site at the church to participate in the ceremony.
It was simply beautiful to see the boats coming around the bend, down the bayou, slowly making their way to the landing site. The boats tied up along the bank, the procession made its way to the top of the hill, and the Rosary began. From The Daily Iberian:
Father Michael Champagne, organizer of the event said, “Having a Eucharistic Procession by boat on the waters of the Teche rather than by foot in the streets makes a lot of sense. Fête-Dieu du Teche on the Feast of the Assumption recalls our rich Acadian history and, in a way, re-enacts the journey made by the Acadians over 250 years ago.”
Champagne said that having a boat procession with the Blessed Sacrament and a statue of the Assumption involving priests, religious and laity is basically what happened in 1765: “In order to serve the Acadian settlers in the Attakapas district, Father Jean-Louis de Civrey accompanied the Acadians on their journey down the Bayou Teche. Father de Civrey became the first resident priest. In his records, he refers to his new home as ‘la nouvelle Acadie’ and his new parish ‘l’Eglise des Attakapas’ and later, l’Eglise St. Martin de Tours. It is believed that St. Martinville is named after the church.”
During Fête-Dieu du Teche, the Blessed Sacrament will be carried on an altar under a canopy on the lead boat. Another boat will carry the statue of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This year will feature a St. Joseph boat as well as a boat carrying relics of the saints. The procession will stop and disembark at makeshift altars along the Teche for recitation of the Rosary and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
I felt truly blessed to be able to participate in this and I will definitely return next year. If you want to watch any of the live streams, including the French mass or the procession down the Bayou Teche, be sure to check out the Facebook page here. There are also nice, short videos about incense, relics, the monstrance, and other pieces.
