The Outsized reaction of the professional left to the performance of the movie the “Sound of Freedom” last week and Disney’s decision to sit on it for a week seems rather odd, particularly when you note how consistent and united this reaction is.

Why you would think the left and their allies had a big hand in that pie. And if they didn’t before they might now.

The medical profession gave up a lot of credibility during the COVID business when they decided that a funeral for your father was murder but large scale marches for the causes of the left were just fine and dandy but nothing destroys the reputation of your family doctor then watching her ask your eight year old son if he identifies as a boy or girl or something else.

It’s stories like this that make my lack of grandchildren at the moment a lot more bearable.

There’s news that a new Malaria vaccine in Africa has not been that successful but is being pushed anyways.

Oddly enough there was a time when Malaria was on the run, but then came the ban on DDT.

A lot of folks ended up dead because of that, but a lot of leftists were able to feel good about themselves which is all that apparently matters.

President Biden remarked that Ukraine is having trouble with ammo.

I understand the IRS has been stockpiling for years, perhaps they can spare a bit.

I wasn’t paying much attention to Facebook/Meta new Threads app and have no intention or desire to get on it, but apparently a lot of people did hoping to do an ah HA on Elon Musk.

Alas they are discovering the truth of the old saying, when a company is offering a product to you for free, you’re the product to wit:

.

There are times when I thank my lucky stars to have been born and grown up before all these things were considered essential to life.

Some Advice:

If hiring a lawyer, make sure that none of them had to get therapy from their law school as a student over SCOTUS rulings they didn’t like.

There is a reason why third base coaches exist to let you know if it’s a good idea to take that extra base. If he puts up a stop sign with two outs in the last of the 9th when you represent the tying run listen to him.

If you are counting on $1000+ from a relative as a wedding gift, it’s a bad idea to inform them that they are not welcome at your wedding because you would be frightened by their presence because they vote conservative and not invite them on those grounds.

Not only will for forfeit that thousand dollar payday, but you will forfeit any future paydays that might have come up.

Reality doesn’t care if something is proven in court or not. Reality IS. If you base reality on court decisions or the lack thereof you will find yourself played for a fool.

Finally if your business or organization relies heavily on recommendations from current customers or users to family members for new bodies, don’t mistreat said existing customers. They’ll advise people to stay away.

The death of the maker of the Titanic Sub and those who traveled with them is not unremarkable as those with wealth have been taking large risks for centuries but when I heard that in interviews he had stated he rejected hiring experienced submariners because he didn’t want a bunch of 50 year old white guys all I could think of was General John Sedgwick saying about rebel snipers with new rifles with telescopic sights: “They couldn’t hit an elephant at this distance.” just before being shot by one.

The primary difference being that Sedgwick lived long enough after he was hit to appreciate the irony of his word, reports now coming out state there was an implosion and all those aboard died instantly.

RIP

The more I see of what is happening on the national level the more I’m amazed at the country doing its level best to go along with national suicide.

Of course historically this is consistent with republics, but what a difference between reading about such things and living it.

Mind you in a generation with the left spaying their own kids that managed to survive the womb it might be moot as the future still belongs to those who show up.

There’s that Tom Hagen math again.

Yet another futile terrorist attack has taken place in Israel.

As always Israel will survive it and do their level best to go after those who helped out but in the end none of these things are going to bring down the state, nor frankly will Iran’s nuclear dreams as Israel, particularly with Biden in the White House is not going to allow itself to be destroyed to sate those who own him.

For Nearly 80 years the Arabs have dreamt of the destruction of Israel. As a supporter of Israel, I ironically see the obvious way for them to achieve those ends and have done so for a long while but it has never has and likely never will occur to them.

How you ask? That’s a secret I’ll take to my grave.

Attended my Godfather/Uncle’s wake yesterday taking a day off work for the final relative of the generation ahead of me to die. I was sitting praying my rosary as people reached the receiving line and I heard an interesting exchange as a couple greeted My uncle’s son who lead it. They had not seen them for years and marveled at their son and daughter now near 30 and asked:

“Any Grandchildren?”

“No they’re not married.” answered my cousin’s wife.

The friends noted that these days that’s not necessary and while my devout Catholic Uncle’s dead body naturally did not flinch at the exchange in my mind’s eye his soul was fist pumping that his son and daughter in law had brought up their children right.

Finally today I’ll be having lunch with some friends from work who no longer see since I’ve been transferred to another building down the road. It’s important to keep up in person contacts like this in a digital world when possible but I must confess it’s very weird in the sense that of the friends I make the vast majority are young enough to be my children and some young enough to be my grandchildren.

Sometimes this is very hard because I’m very aware of my faults and failings and grateful for the sacrament of confession to be absolved of them but when I’m with these young folks it’s incumbent on me to carry myself in such a was as to set an example rather than in the relaxed way friends can be.

That’s a sentence that is rejected by those who spent a lifetime treating their kids as friends and doing all they can to pretend they will now grow old and die, but I suspect if they worried more about setting a good example our society and republic might not be dying before our eyes.

Today is the 79th Anniversary of D-Day and International Treasure Mark Felton has another new video on the subject, this time about the drop of dummies to decoy the German forces:

There are very few D-Day vets still left, but long after the last one is gone Mr. Felton’s videos will be informing generations yet unborn of their deeds and the deeds of others during world war 2.

It’s not equal to the legacy as those who fought on D-Day but it’s not bad.

Apparently the folks in Haiti have had enough of Gangs and police and pols who protect them for profit and have taken matters into their own hands, rather violently:

The 14 presumed gang members under arrest were arriving at a police station in Haiti’s capital, when a group of people overpowered the police, rounded up the suspects outside and used gasoline to burn them alive.

This has continued to the point where gang members are in hiding in fear of their lives and crime has plummeted.

Coming soon to Chicago , Oakland, Minneapolis and Philly? Let’s both hope not and hope that those cities don’t reach the point where it’s considered an option.

Trump supporter Laura Loomer confronted James Comey in Illinois during a book signing event. Gateway Pundit has the details:

It’s a nice change for her going after someone who has actually done wrong rather than going after Governor Ron DeSantis in an at best unartfully and at worst blatantly false manor.

I have admit while I’m glad Loomer was restored to Twitter the way she has been alienating some conservatives you would think Musk’s move to restore her was an in-kind contribution to the DeSantis campaign.

Trump has in my Opinion been the Best record of a US president since Teddy Roosevelt if it was up to me that would be my focus.

Stacy McCain has a story that has gotten very little press concerning a couple of married elemental school principles who got a tad involved with drugs and hasn’t ended pretty although fortunately nobody has died.

You need to read the whole thing but I want to you catch his close which asks an excellent question :

The school district can’t comment, but I can. More than a month before police found Michael Griffin ranting delusionally at the local grocery store, they went to their doctor because he was already suffering with delusional beliefs caused by his cocaine habit. Here’s a question: How much cocaine does it take to induce paranoid psychosis? And how could two public school employees afford such an expensive addiction?

A cocaine habit is not cheap, and you’ve got to be doing it pretty heavily — like, the Eagles on tour in 1977 — to reach the point where you’re in a grocery store parking lot babbling paranoid gibberish with a pistol in your pocket. How were the Griffins able to do this much coke while functioning as elementary school principals and nobody even noticed?

Finally while I was writing this post I saw Dallas Jenkins finally made a public response to the gay flag controversy that has been dogging the show for a week. It is a first rate response which I’ll post here:

His basic response was he hire crew or cast based on belief or lack thereof nor does he police people’s workspaces as long as they do their job and are committed to the show, nor does he police their social media, although there was a suggestion that temperance and judgement be used in some responses that were made online, which given the crowd funding nature of the show would be wise.

His bottom line is feel free to make up your own mind but he’s going to do what he does the way he does it because he’s not doing any of it for us per se but for God

As Gamaliel once noted time will tell who this work is from but, as for myself his explanation is good enough for me.
