Q: Why does this story have incredible potential to turn into major trouble for the White House.

Rod Blagojevich’s lawyers want the FBI to give up details of interviews conducted last year of President Obama, his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, White House adviser Valerie Jarrett and others as part of the investigation into the former governor.

In a Friday filing, Blagojevich attorneys also asked for information regarding first lady Michelle Obama. However, a source said late Friday that the FBI never interviewed the first lady.

This could turn out to be absolutely nothing but I’m not so sure, Blagojevich has proven that he is a fighter and a survivor. His primary loyalty is to himself and he is not going to be shy at all about using all means necessary to keep himself out of Jail.

In addition his high profile and willingness to talk to almost anyone on Camera makes him impossible to ignore or shut up.

When the Whitehouse was riding high in the polls maybe they could count on the media to ignore him. Now I’m not so sure.

All of this is going to take months, perhaps years to play out, there might be absolutely nothing to any of it, it might be earth shaking. If I’m the White House I try to string and drag this along for as long as possible.

One side note. On morning Joe, Willie is constantly putting Blago on the “news you can’t use” section whenever there is a whiff of him in the news. I wonder if they will ignoring this bit of ACTUAL news or not? We will see.

Update: I missed the first hour but there wasn’t a peep. I don’t know if this was the lack of Willie.

This was the #1 image result?

The photo is 5 years old but I think the statement is still true.

If you want to see the post where those photos came from, including some nice shots of the Crayola Museum, Hershey Park, and the Gettysburg Battlefield, then click here.

Unfortunately the last 13 months have given an answer to the question associated with the final shot on that page. I was hoping for a different one.

Taken: Amazon Review

My review of Lian Neeson’s revenge fantasy Taken is available at Amazon.com here.

As I stated in my review I couldn’t help think of John Wayne in Big Jake when watching this movie. One scene in particular.

The Texas Rangers rush off in their newfangled automobiles to ambush the kidnappers and are themselves ambushed instead. Many are killed several are wounded, their cars are not working and they are stranded without food or water. Big Jake (Wayne) rides by on his way south with the ransom chest and sees the aftermath of the situation. He is unwilling to loan them horses or food but leaves them some water before continuing on his way. The leader of the rangers, an old friend that he happily greeted less than a day ago sarcastically thanks him saying he has been more than kind. Big Jake replies:

I think I’ve been. 20 years ago I would have killed you for risking my grandson’s life.

He is an old friend. He was happy to see him and actively risked his own life to try to save the boy but that doesn’t enter into it.

I don’t want to give out any spoilers but lets just say Neeson’s character is nearly 20 years younger than Wayne’s.

Albert Finney’s Scrooge: Amazon Review

My review of the delightful Christmas Musical adaption of A Christmas Carol: Scrooge with Albert Finney in the title role is available at Amazon.com here.

If at all possible watch it on DVD or through netfliks. What I think is the key scene in the movie is often left out on television.

Be warned that you won’t be able to get the songs of this movie out of your head for days.
