For the past several decades there has only been one true privilege in the United States, that is progressive privilege.  Leftist mobs, whether they be Black Lives Matter or ANTIFA, riot with impunity.  They are media darlings.  The Media, including Fox News, incorrectly labels them protesters.  Little mention is made of the carnage they have caused.

Crowds of peaceful MAGA supporters, numbering tens of thousands, gather regularly.  No violence takes place.  There was not a single violent incident reported at a Tea Party rally, yet the media harps on right wing extremism, and labels our side of the political spectrum domestic terrorists.

Blocking roads and highways is one of the favorite tactics used by the true domestic terrorists, BLM and ANTIFA.  They engage in that behavior regularly.  Pro Palestinian mobs have embraced that disruptive tactic with gusto since the Hamas massacre in Israel.  Just the other day the pro Palestine mob upped the ante with a truly dangerous new tactic:  Pro-Palestinian Car Caravan, Balloons Create ‘Nightmare’ at JFK Airport (breitbart.com)

A caravan of pro-Palestinian demonstrators driving around John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York City on New Year’s Day and releasing balloons, caused 60 flights to be delayed and created chaos on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

Vehicles festooned with radical slogans such as “One solution: revolution,” “Long live the resistance,” and “F*ck Israel,” circled the roadways leading to the airport, preventing passengers as well as airline crews from reaching their terminals on time.

Sending up large balloons in the path of passenger planes in the process of landing and taking off is exceedingly dangerous.  Did the corporate media cover this outrageous incident?  Hell no.  Could you imagine the media outrage if Trump supporters had behaved this badly?

The media insists on labeling these progressive darlings as protestors or demonstrators. Sending up balloons in the path of airplanes is not a valid form of protesting. Blocking roads is not a valid form of protesting either, because it interferes with the rights of everyone trying to use those roads.

I believe that Thomas Jefferson would agree that blocking roads is not a valid form of protesting.

No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another; and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him: every man is under the natural duty of contributing to the necessities of the society; and this is all the laws should enforce on him: and, no man having a natural right to be the judge between himself and another, it is his natural duty to submit to the umpirage of an impartial third. when the laws have declared and enforced all this, they have fulfilled their functions, and the idea is quite unfounded that on entering into society we give up any natural right. the trial of every law by one of these texts would lessen much the labors of our legislators, & lighten equally our municipal codes

This additional quote by Jefferson reinforces my conclusion: Thomas Jefferson to Isaac H. Tiffany, 4 April 1819 (archives.gov)

rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within the limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’; because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual.

The media often overlooks the word peaceably in the text of the First Amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

When the story about ANTIFA going nuts in Georgia and one of their thugs ending up dead after shooting at State Police, Stacy McCain an Atlanta native had this to say:

Georgia ain’t Oregon and Atlanta ain’t Portland, OK? So if the unbathed terrorist mobs of Antifa want heroic martyrdom, Atlanta’s the place to be, because cops down in Georgia shoot to kill:

Seven militants have been arrested and charged with domestic terrorism following a deadly shootout with law enforcement at their “autonomous zone” in a wooded area south of Atlanta. They are all from out of state.

(Because nobody from Georgia would try this bullshit.)

Well there wasn’t the slaughterer of terrorists that Stacy McCain that anticipated but the Georgia AG had some very blunt words

Martha, this isn’t Oregon, we’re not Washington, We’re not New York or California. If you come here and commit violet acts against our citizens and law enforcement we’re going to hold you accountable.

And here is the money quote

I will defend anyone’s right. I firmly believe in the first amendment and peaceful protest I will defend it. But protesters use words, rioters use AR 15’s and handguns and throw Molotov cocktails at constructions workers and firefighters and use explosives and knives. That’s not peaceful protest, that’s not protected by the first amendment, That’s a crime.

That blunt statement of truth means a lot, but not as much as the prosecuting of these asses for their actions with some long sentences for those convicted.

Katherine Clark is lucky that her kid doesn’t live in Georgia. A slap in the wrist would not be forthcoming.

Today I went to breakfast with DaWife and ended up in front sitting right in front of the TV with the local news on. I don’t do a lot these days. I mentioned yesterday that the March for Life was not newsworthy to the MSM and neither was it for the local Boston news despite many from Massachusetts who traveled there, however an infinitely smaller march in Madison WI in support of abortion was important enough to be covered with film.

For some perspective here is a time lapse of the March For Life this weekend.

I don’t miss local news, I don’t even bother with them for sports anymore, just not trustworthy.

Speaking of things not newsworthy to the local station A member of congress from Massachusetts, and not just any member the #2 Democrat in the house Katherine Clark the house minority whip had her son/daughter/whatever arrested yesterday for assaulting a police officer during Antifa event in Boston Yesterday.

Hey a local member of congress in a leadership position with a kid who is arrested for assaulting a cop in Boston with ANTIFA, that’s GOT to be newsworthy for a Boston station so I watched for it while I was eating breakfast.

Not a mention w

If she had an “R” after her name rather than a “D” it would be THE story trumping even the winter storm.

I did notice that there was a scroll on the screen which mentioned the Monterey Park Shooting. The left had a narrative all in play until the shooter turned out to be an Asian Male and the crime driven by a domestic dispute between a Husband and Wife.

One that became apparent the story suddenly and unsurprisingly became unnewsworthy for the national media. I guess the people who do the crawl for the station didn’t get the updated memo.

There is a lot I can say about the credibility of the MSM but when it comes to discrediting them they do a much better job than I could ever do myself, to wit:

Nothing says “peaceful protest” like a burning police car. David Limbaugh (Rush’s Brother) nails it:

Not if it clashes with the narrative they can’t.

For all the media’s spin on events, dishonest reporting, censorship and pushing narratives, one thing remains true. Reality doesn’t care what the narrative is as demonstrated by this story out of Seattle:

How bad has the rampant crime, spiraling homeless problem, and general dystopian appearance of Seattle, Washington gotten lately? Apparently, the conditions are bad enough that Nike has chosen to permanently shut down its flagship store in the city after 26 years in operation, which it did on Friday. At the same time, Regal Cinemas announced that it would not be renewing its lease on its Meridian 16 multiplex. Neither company has put out an official statement as to their reasons for leaving, but it’s pretty obvious to the residents of the city. Seattle has simply become unlivable over the past couple of years. Between the criminals, the illegal migrants, and the homeless (who are dying in record numbers), the city is almost unrecognizable.

You can spin violent leftists as the summer of love, you can pretend that there is not problem and the national media can say things are overblown all they want, but in the end business is business and Nike and Regal Cinemas have decided that Seattle is no place for theirs.

North Michigan Avenue in Chicago last summer after rioting

By John Ruberry

A bit more than a year ago most large American cities were struck by widespread rioting and looting after the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.

Of course for the most part the rioting was termed “unrest” by the mainstream media. In case you think reporters forgot what the word “riot” means, the “R” word was front in center in January news coverage after a pro-Donald Trump mob stormed the US Capitol.

Local television reporters across the country–who are generally more credible than their dead-tree media counterparts–brought viewers many scenes of unmasked people emptying out stores. Some of the looters even posted their crimes on social media.

Were these outrages open-and-shut case for prosecutors? Yes, but not in the way you think.

From NBC New York:

NYPD data reviewed by the NBC New York I-Team shows 118 arrests were made in the Bronx during the worst of the looting in early June.

Since then, the NYPD says the Bronx DA and the courts have dismissed most of those cases – 73 in all. Eighteen cases remain open and there have been 19 convictions for mostly lesser counts like trespassing, counts which carry no jail time.

Jessica Betancourt owns an eyeglass shop that was looted and destroyed along Burnside Avenue in the Bronx last June.

Those numbers, to be honest with you, is [sic] disgusting,” Betancourt said when told of the few cases being prosecuted.

According to the NBC New York, prosecutors are claiming that there is a backlog of cases because of the COVID-19 epidemic. “If they are so overworked that they can’t handle the mission that they’re hired for, then maybe they should find another line of work,” says former NYPD Chief of Patrol Wilbur Chapman.  True, that.

There is a similar pattern of prosecutorial malpractice in Manhattan too. The DA in Manhattan is Cyrus Vance Jr, the leftist zealot who is on a Captain Ahab-like quest to charge Donald Trump with crimes.

The primary focus of any prosecutor should be to protect the public. But are prosecutors subject to the “CSI Effect” that plagues trials? That is, short of videotaped confessions of criminals, there is always room for a scintilla of doubt–because cases laid out perfectly when presented in a television drama.

Maybe. But instead I suspect there is an even worse possibility.

During the rioting last summer in Chicago I watched live coverage on WGN-TV of a couple of women calmly loading their car with what must have been looted goods. The license plate of their car was readable. Locating the criminals should have been quite easy. I wonder if Cook County’s state’s attorney, the woke Kim Foxx who of course dropped the hoax charges against Jussie Smollett–since reinstated with a special prosecutor in charge–botherered to investigate those two looters?

Yes, I had to bring up Smollett. As a black man and a gay man–that’s a two-fer–the former Empire actor is automatically a double-victim. And since many of the looters were minorities, they are victims too. Not of course the owners of stores that were looted last year even though many of those shop owners were minorities too. The criminals are the victims here, it’s not the other way around. If this quasi-reasoning makes sense to you then I recommend that you watch less CNN and MSNBC–and cancel your subscription to The Atlantic.

Some in the dead-tree media have called these riots and outbreaks of looting an uprising. Here and here, for instance. Meanwhile, the investigation of the attack on the US Capitol by Trump supporters, which The Media Elect is calling either a riot or an insurrection–is being aggressively pursued by federal prosecutors, and the allegd perpetatrors are being charged with low-level crimes such as tresspassing. Yes, they should be prosecuted. But to call the Capitol Riot, in the words some federal prosecutors, an “existential threat” to the republic is a gross exaggeration. And some of those alleged rioters are being held in solitary confinement in Gitmo-like conditions, including the moron who put his on Nancy Pelosi’s desk and the so-called QAnon Shaman. Yeah, I get it, the feds have jurisdiction over the Capitol attack, not New York or Chicago prosecutors. But the message to the public should be clear here.

Then there is Antifa, which for weeks was violently attacking nearly every night the federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon. Where is the dogged federal investigation of those riots?

But I fear some in prosecutorial circles sympathize with Antifa, as I strongly suspect they do in regards to the George Floyd “uprising.”

It seems that prosecutors are taking sides. And that in the right circumstances crime pays well for the criminals.

But civil society cannot survive such a mindset.
