Here is the gist of the debate between Treasury Secretary Geithner and EU Central Bank President Trichet: the United States can print money longer (and sustain deficits for a longer period) than the EU, but the end result is the same. The EU knows it is experiencing a currency crisis right now and may be choosing to face the music by reducing spending. The United States, on the other hand, is still in denial about this looming problem. As the Europeans take on the gut wrenching job of forcing spending cuts on their citizens because they are left with no other choices, our administration is encouraging more Keynesian non sense. Fortunately, the EU is saying “enough” to the Keynesian insanity. Why? Because they have history on their side and know in a very personal way how a currency becomes worthless and what happens as a result. Americans (with the exceptions of Southerners (and their creditors) left holding Confederate dollars 150 years ago) have no experience with the harsh reality that accompanies currency debasement. J P Morgan may have saved the country one hundred years ago but the size and scope of the problem today is several orders of magnitude greater.

Blogging is a new enough phenom that the death of a blogger is still an oddity the time will come, sooner than a lot of us would like that this will be a regular occurrence and will gain the same attention as the death of an elderly retired actor who we remember in passing from many years ago

Question: Why does Charles Johnson owe Andrew Sullivan a debt of Gratitude today?

I already commented on Johnson’s post which hearkens back to brighter days. Sullivan however is in full moonbat mode:

A simple point. The violence by the activists is pretty abhorrent. These are not followers of Gandhi or MLK Jr. But the violence is not fatal to anyone and it is in response to a dawn commando raid by armed soldiers. Emphasis mine

Andrew Andrew Andrew the only reason why the violence was not fatal is because the Israelis finally opened fire.

It really takes some effort to make Charles Johnson look good these days, but Andrew has it in him!

Will Folks and the too high price

I plan this to be my only post on the Will Folks issue:

Folks is finding out what others have discovered. If you want to get attention from the media, and maybe set yourself up for the future, the easiest way is to switch sides against a republican and/or Tea Party Member.

Some things in life however come with too high a price.

Meanwhile Robert Stacy Bottom lines the whole issue in the title of his latest post:

CNN: ‘There Is Nothing in the Correspondence Proving Folks’ Claim That He Had an “Inappropriate Physical Relationship” with Haley’

Update: Cynthia Yockey sees the same thing I do but is more explicit:

Now, some would say that Folks’ game plan is the same one that was developed and perfected by Democratic nut bloggers in Alaska. That is, upon the clandestine receipt of a handsome sum of money and promises of more if the hit is successful, pretend to be impartial or an ally, profess to all and sundry to be suppressing rumors that had never been rumored, make dark hints, look very knowing, then tell reporters that other reporters will beat them to the story that has been fabricated for the purpose of destroying an enemy until one of them takes the bait and then ALL of them have to cover it.

And to that I would say … um, sounds about right.

I’ll wager that dentist bill would be paid by someone if she was willing to back this guy up, but for Cynthia that price would be too high as well.
