More proof Liberalism is a dangerous mental disorder

The political left is a vast echo chamber where ideology greatly outweighs reality, groupthink has replaced individual awareness.  Basic scientific truths do not exist at all, nor do philosophical and moral truths, because of this reality is malleable.  It is impossible to live in environment devoid of reality without experiencing a breakdown of sanity. 

These Marxists that call themselves Progressives, Liberals, or Democrats have infested all of the major institutions here in the United States and across the world.  Because of this the world is descending into a chaos caused by this ideologically driven abandonment of reality.

A health official in the United Kingdom claimed that breast milk from biological males who “transitioned” to live as women is just as healthy as breast milk from a female who has given birth. 

The Telegraph reported this week that a leaked letter from a University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust medical director claims that breast milk produced by “trans women” as a result of taking so-called “gender-affirming” drugs is “comparable to that produced [by a mother] following the birth of a baby.”

This insanity is now endangering new born infants.

Lottie Moore, who works at the think tank Policy Exchange, told The Telegraph that the letter is “unbalanced” and “naïve in its assertion that the secretions produced by a male on hormones can nourish an infant in the way a mother’s breast milk can.” 

“A child’s welfare must always take precedence over identity politics and contested belief systems that are not evidence-based. The NHS should not be indulging in this nonsense,” Moore added.

A male athlete who identifies as a woman reportedly injured three female athletes in a girls’ basketball game earlier this month. As a result, the game ended in a forfeit.

The trans-identifying player for KIPP Academy in Massachusetts reportedly injured three girls at Collegiate Charter School of Lowell before halftime on Feb. 8. According to The Daily Wire, the male player who thinks he’s a girl is six feet tall and has facial hair. KIPP has reportedly refused to confirm the player’s gender.

The reaction from the offending school is pure insanity.

“The Charter School supports this decision and reiterates its values of both inclusivity and safety for all students,” the statement added. “We take the standards set by the MIAA and our Board of Trustees seriously and strive to uphold them on and off the court. We also follow the guidance from the MIAA and state laws regarding equity and access for all student-athletes.”

The statement omits the fact that these female athletes were injured by a male who was allowed to play against them in the name of “inclusion.”

“A man hitting a woman used to be called domestic abuse. Now it’s called brave,” women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines said on X.

The media has a lot to answer for – namely, for making people (including children) so petrified of an impending climate apocalypse they can barely function in daily life.

In a recent Bloomberg article, reporters interviewed therapist Caroline Hickman, who described using exposure therapy to help a child who was afraid of dogs. However, she was reluctant to see climate anxiety as the same type of irrational fear. 

“We don’t 100% know how to deal with it,” she said, adding that “it would be a huge mistake to try and treat it like other anxieties that we are very familiar with that have been around for decades. This one is much, much worse.”

…Climate anxiety disrupts the ability to function day to day. Children and young people in this category feel alienation from friends and family, distress when thinking about the future and intrusive thoughts about who will survive, according to Hickman’s research. Patients obsessively check for extreme weather, read climate change studies and pursue radical activism. Some, devastatingly, consider suicide as the only solution.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) began funding research into trash-fed crickets as an alternative to conventional and “unsustainable” protein production in July 2023, a federal grant listing shows.

The $130,000 grant supports research that “addresses the need for more cost-efficient production of crickets as a sustainable protein source,” according to the listing. Specifically, the grant will support research into using municipal landfill waste to feed crickets that will later be harvested for human consumption.

USDA awarded the grant to Mighty Cricket Inc., a private firm that sells cricket flour, cricket protein powder and cricket oatmeal. The agency believes that using landfill waste to feed crickets could help the firm “procure cricket feed at lower cost than what is available on the market,” leading to savings that could then be passed along to the consumer.

USDA’s grant listing criticizes traditional animal farming for being too resource-intensive and too harsh on the environment.

Environmentalists will soon demand that humans stop breathing to save Mother Earth from climate change

The title I came up with for this article sounds like the title of either a Babylon Bee article or a Dystopian Science Fiction novel.   Sadly it is an honest appraisal of the mental state of the modern environmental movement, especially in the aftermath of this deeply flawed and scientifically challenged study: Humans may be fueling global warming by breathing: new study (nypost.com)

Humans may be fueling global warming by breathing, a new study suggests.

“Exhaled human breath can contain small, elevated concentrations of methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), both of which contribute to global warming,” according to research released last week in the UK  journal PLOS.

The methane and nitrous oxide exhaled by humans make up about 0.1 of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions, the writeup said.

The gases are in addition to the carbon dioxide that humans exhale.

To call this nonsense a scientific study would do grave injustice to real scientific inquiry.  Simple common sense is all that is needed to discredit this pseudo scientific gibberish.  Are methane and nitrous oxide lighter than the nitrogen that makes up 79% of the Earth’s atmosphere, or the oxygen that makes up the majority of the rest?  Wouldn’t these gasses remain close to the earth’s surface where they would not affect the climate in the least?  Aren’t the quantities released by humans awfully minuscule?

Logic and true science have absolutely no value to the political left, where propaganda and belief reign supreme.  Worship of nature has replaced traditional religious beliefs.  Devotion to Mother Gaia is almost universal while humans, especially individual humans, are reviled: The Globalist ‘Final Solution’ – American Thinker

As horrific as the Nazis were, today there is another group who seek a “final solution” even more terrifying: they want to eliminate over 7 billion people from the face of the Earth.  In a 2017 interview, Dennis Meadows, co-author of the Club of Rome’s Limits to Growth, said the Earth’s population needs to be “brought back down to one billion.”  The current global population is over 8 billion. 

This sentiment among Progressives is not new at all.

In 1968, the Club of Rome was founded, proclaiming that to be “sustainable,” the Earth’s human population needed to be no more than one billion people.  To distance themselves from the eugenics associated with the Nazis, they re-framed their idea as “population control.”  Aware that their idea would face resistance, they called for global government to enable them to achieve their aims.

Other elites share the Club of Rome’s goals, and many of them trace back to David Rockefeller, head of Chase Manhattan Bank, who was a longtime advocate of global government.  He funded the Club of Rome and was mentor to Canadian Maurice Strong, who ran the U.N.’s Environment Program for over thirty years.  It was through Strong — a Club of Rome member and board member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) — that Rockefeller influenced the U.N., and also Klaus Schwab, head of the WEF.  Longtime Rockefeller friend Henry Kissinger was Schwab’s tutor at the Harvard International Business Seminar for two years, and Schwab credits both Strong and Kissinger as mentors. 

The United Nations has been at the forefront of the depopulation movement for decades and will redouble its efforts thanks to that UK study.

In 1992, Strong introduced the U.N.’s Agenda 21/Sustainable Development, which in 2015 was rebranded Agenda 2030, and Chapter 4 blames population growth for “placing severe [environmental] stress on the planet.”  In 2019, the WEF’s Schwab signed an agreement with the U.N. secretary general to cooperate in accelerating implementation of Agenda 2030’s goals.  So the major international players pushing the “climate change” scheme are ideological descendants of globalist and de-population advocate Rockefeller.

Globalist elites also quietly support the Earth’s de-population in other ways.  For example, the Bill Gates Foundation has pledged $280 million a year from 2021 to 2030 to develop and improve contraceptive technologies, support family planning, etc. (i.e., prevent births).  Gates is infamous for his funding of vaccine testing in Africa, and he (along with UNICEF and the World Health Organization) has been accused of intentionally sterilizing Kenyan children through the use of a hidden HCG antigen in tetanus vaccines.  

But birth control and abortion are a long, slow process for eliminating what is now a 7-billion-people “excess” in the eyes of the de-population globalists.  Mass starvation is faster and more effective, and Agenda 2030 will achieve that.  Read it here, but look beyond the rhetoric to recognize what banning fossil fuels and fertilizers, restricting agricultural emissions, eliminating cattle, etc. will mean in practical terms. 

Does it take monsters to deliberately starve over 7 billion people?  Or just “terrifyingly normal” men like Aurelio Peccei, an Italian industrialist, or Alexander King, a Scots chemist, the co-founders of the Club of Rome?  Or like Bill Gates or Ted Turner, who’ve been buying up productive U.S. farmland to prevent the growing of food?  Or like the “environmentalists” willing to destroy Western civilization through Net Zero to “save the planet”?  Or like Klaus Schwab, the stereotypical middle manager, who would rather this free and unpredictable world be more organized and tidy?  These are the “men in suits” Lewis warned about, who have anointed themselves worthy of deciding the fate of the world.

To win future elections Republicans must fight the Culture War

For far too long members of the Republican Party stood on the sidelines while the Democratic Party waged an all-out war on all aspects of tradition American culture.  The Republican establishment did not believe this was a war worth fighting.  They did not believe the culture war mattered at all.  They believed that it was a war they could not win. 

The sorry state our society is in is proof that that the culture war was most definitely worth fighting.

A new poll out Wednesday reveals a major shift in Republican voters’ attitudes, emphasizing “culture war” issues such as the transgender craze instead of the “Old Right” consensus prioritizing taxes and trade.

According to an American Compass/YouGov survey of 1,000 Republicans who voted in the 2022 midterms, respondents overwhelmingly emphasized cultural issues as the most important challenges to face the nation. When asked to select at least two and up to five topics from a list as the most pressing problems of the day, voters were by far most concerned with cultural issues such as transgenderism, woke capitalism, and critical race theory, in addition to the border crisis and globalism. “Transgender activism” was selected the most, at 69 percent. 

Previous surveys this year have revealed a shift in opinion among the broader American public away from transgenderism. A Gallup poll in June found 55 percent of Americans believe it is “morally wrong” to attempt to “change” one’s sex, up from 51 percent two years ago. Overwhelming majorities opposed bending sex requirements for athletic competitions.

Because the Republicans have let the Democrats run the table on cultural issues Democrats have become emboldened.  They have used these cultural issues to amass massive amounts of political power.  Because the Democratic party has been taken over by radical Marxists, they seek to achieve complete control over the American people.  The culture war is the perfect vehicle for this, Almost Like Metaphysics: Democrats Use Issues to Push for Total Control – American Thinker

Climate change is useful because it is a planet-threatening problem that requires systemic change enforced by the government, requiring ever-greater government control over our lives, like the Covid pandemic. Transgenderism is another power play, an attempt to override reality by government fiat. It places the state in the middle of the family, giving the state the last word on the question of the human person, fracturing the natural power structure of the family, and establishing the state as a competing authority with parents.

Transgenderism is a step towards creating a competing power center within the family. If it succeeds, other “children’s rights” issues will emerge. The radical international left wants all people, beginning as children, to have their principal relationship with the state, which they are determined to control. Pitting children against parents or a parent against a parent is an attack on our civilization. Civilization is founded upon interlocking communities of mutual support. The family is the ur-community of civil society.

Despite the outdated moniker of “social justice warrior,” leftist Democrats aren’t interested in real justice. They’re interested in gaining and using power. Once they have it, they’ll use it against their enemies. Appealing to their desire for civil comity is futile. They have no use for comity so long as they have power.

Tide is our woke laundry detergent

After years of calling out the outrages and absurdities of political correctness and its successor, wokeness, I still manage to be regularly shocked. Yesterday I stumbled across a box while grocery shopping that boasted, “Ultra concentrated Tide–turn to cold to use 90 percent less energy***.”

Yes, even laundry detergent has gone woke. 

Okay, who wants to save money?

Pretty much everyone. 

However, when you look at the triple asterisks–you mean one isn’t enough?–you learn about the cold water claim, according to Tide, it occurs “on average when switching from hot to cold water.”

What if you mostly use warm water laundry washes?

Tide’s propagandistic green marketing push goes back to 2021. The ultimate goal of Tide, which is owned by Proctor & Gamble, is to “save the planet.”

Of course, it is.

When Mrs. Marathon Pundit and I purchase detergent, we look for fair prices, which means we don’t buy overpriced Tide, but more importantly, we want soap that cleans our clothes without damaging them. 

That’s all. We are modest folks.

The Marathon Pundit household is confident that the fate of Earth is not connected to our choice of laundry detergent.

As for Tide, it has a sustainability page on its website, where among other things, Tide claims people washing their clothes can “get great results, no matter the water temperature. Tide is specially designed to give you the best clean in every wash, even in cold water. Tide even cleans better in cold water than the bargain brand does in warm.”

Sorry I don’t believe it.

I have reasons to be skeptical of overreaching claims, as I am old enough to remember being told that carbon emissions would lead to a new ice age. That is, until I was lectured by my “betters” that carbon emissions would lead to global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps, as soon as the last decade. Al Gore predicted that last one. Yes, he did–don’t believe the lying fact-checkers.

Not only am I skeptical of leftist claims, but I am also doubly so of marketers’ claims.

As a liberated 21st century male, I do a lot of our family’s laundry. Unless a fabric is super-delicate, most of what I wash is–sorry Tide–done in warm water. Our clothes come out cleaner and there is no soap residue, as is usually the case when, against my better judgement, I wash clothes in cold. With whites I use the hot water cycle.

But Tide tells us cold water is better.

Hogwash.

Oh, my guess is that the marketing geniuses with Tide are out-of-touch rich slobs who have hired help handling their laundry chores.

If you are squeamish, you may want to skip the next three paragraphs.

I’m a runner and I run about 40 miles a week. Athletes’ foot and jock itch, usually caused by the ringworm fungus, is something I have to cope with every summer. The best way to eliminate this pernicious fungus is to wash infected garments in hot water. You hear that, Tide? Color garments might get damaged by hot water, yes, but apple cider vinegar soaking for infected color garments is great way to kill fungus.

Let’s stick with white socks. And if you had any doubts, now you know why athletes wear white socks.

Not only is cooler water, both cold and warm, ineffective in killing fungus, washing in such temperatures runs the risk of spreading the fungus to other garments. Oh, if you have a significant other who you share a bed with and you are infected with a fungus skin rash, and then your partner pulls a sheet from you as you are sleeping, guess who might acquire that rash? Even after your bedsheets go through a full cycle of a cold or warm water wash.

Oh, I’ve unknowingly put on infected clothes months after a failed wash, and guess what happened?

Let’s just say fungi are survivors.

Once again, Tide, I buy laundry detergent to clean our clothes. My way. Without wokeness, haughtiness, and without soap stains and the spread of fungus.

Back to bed sheets: Hot water washes, not cold or warm, kill bed bugs.

And finally, I don’t believe Tide’s claim that using cold water while washing clothes and bed sheets consumes “90 percent less energy.” I’ve been lied to way too many times.

Use Tide detergent. Save the planet. Get bitten by bed bugs. Spread fungal infections.
