One of the things that drives me nuts is the denial of things directly in front of you.

The first comes from Isreallycool as he demonstrates the dire conditions that Palestinians in Gaza

My point is not that there is no hardship in Gaza, but rather that the situation is a far cry from what is being presented by the Palestinians, their supporters and the mainstream media. Introducing Al-Azhar University, Gaza’s second largest university with over 11,000 registered students between eight faculties: Pharmacy, Medical Professions, Science, Agriculture, Education, Arts, Economics & Administrative Sciences and Law.

And don’t forget the Mall photos of course.

The second is even more serious and comes from Shrinkwrapped, it’s pure unadulterated 100% Racism:

When considering the possibility that a third force, such as NATO, could be given the responsibility of overseeing the implementation of the planned agreement, Mahmud Abbas imposed a condition: that there should not be a single Jewish soldier and any Israeli. “I am ready to accept a third party which supervises the implementation of the agreement, NATO forces for example, but I will not accept the presence of Jews in these forces or a [single] Israeli on the Land of Palestine.”, emphasis mine

Is such a demand tainted with antisemitism? It should not come as a shock, if we remember that Mahmud Abbas defended his doctoral thesis which was based on Holocaust denial at a school for political indoctrination in the Soviet Union.

Some may see a polemical and ideological expression in the term “racist,” but Mahmud Abbas’ demand with regard to NATO leaves no doubt in this respect.

I am constantly amazed that those who refer to Israel as an “apartheid state” never address the need for arabs to demand that any “Palestinian” state be completely Judenrein? Shrinkwrap continues:

For the American left the rationale for ignoring violent eliminationist rhetoric from all corners of the Muslim world is two-fold. We quite reasonably want to minimize the power of the Islamist narrative that posits a civilizational war between Islam and the West; in addition, ignoring the Islamist rhetoric while violently addressing those who attempt to put such rhetoric into action allows us to keep the war relatively hidden from the home front. Unfortunately, the outcome of such denial is an enemy that has command in the information war and the loss in small bits of our civilization’s legitimacy.

And this continues, Just this week a scandal erupted in Iran over a weightlifter (winning a silver) appearing on a podium next to an Israeli (who won the gold) even though he refused to shake the Israeli’s hand.

And back in August we had an Iranian “competitor” fake an injury rather than face a Jew in the final:

Alex Gilady, an IOC member from Israel who handed out the medals for the competition, said it was a tactic by Iran to avoid violation of Olympic rules.

“Once he (Soleimani) was injured, that meant he still would win the silver … have to stand on the podium and listen to the Israeli anthem and see the Israeli flag over the Iranian flag,” Gilady said. “They put him in an ambulance so at least they would not create a crisis that would have demanded further action. So it looks like everything is OK.”

Every time the left passes on this stuff without comment they further cement their cowardice and irrelevance.

Opposing Sharia is now bigotry…

About 15 years ago when the first talk of civil unions came up when people were talking about a constitutional amendment to enshrine actual marriage explicitly in the constitution the media and the pols pooh poohed the entire idea saying that nobody is talking about Gay Marriage and the idea it was going to come up was nonsense.

People who had more sense on the state level decided not to take chances and passed constitutional amendments to their own state constitutions.

Interestingly enough we are seeing this phenom again in Oklahoma:

Oklahoma is poised to become the first state in the nation to ban state judges from relying on Islamic law known as Sharia when deciding cases.

The ban is a cornerstone of a “Save our State” amendment to the Oklahoma constitution that was recently approved by the Legislature.

The amendment — which also would forbid judges from using international laws as a basis for decisions — will now be put before Oklahoma’s voters in November. Approval is expected.

Well this is a victory for liberals surely, Sharia law being so oppressive to women and gays and restrictive on sex etc etc I’m sure that our friends on the left will be cheering the chance for the voters to reject such a set of misogynistic rules right? Apparently not:

Reps. Duncan and Moore’s “us vs. them” mentality exemplifies the mainstreaming of extreme right-wing Islamophobia. Once hawked by fringe figures, the “creeping Sharia” delusion is finding champions among staunch conservative leaders like former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, whose crusade against all-things-Islamic culminated in his call for “a federal law that says sharia law cannot be recognized by any court in the United States” at the Value Voters Summit this month.

Ah it’s all about Islamophobia, there is actually no reason why Sharia is something to be worried about, it can’t happen here. Next thing you will be telling me is that honor killings are taking place in America or something.

Jay Nordlinger identified these people long ago:

During the Cold War, we used to speak of anti-anti-Communists. These were people (on the left) who were not exactly pro-Communist. But they so hated the anti-Communists, they were . . . well, anti-anti-Communists — the best, the fairest name for them.

Today, there are anti-anti-Islamofascists. They are not on the Islamofascist side in the War on Terror. But they hate those who are fighting, or attempting to fight, the Islamofascists more than they could ever hate the Islamofascists. They are anti-anti-Islamofascists.

The similarities between yesterday’s anti-anti-Communists and today’s anti-anti-Islamofascists would make a very good essay — perhaps by David Pryce-Jones or Norman Podhoretz. Of course, many of today’s anti-anti-Islamofascists were yesterday’s anti-anti-Communists — I mean, the same people, in the flesh.

The day these people hate actual oppressors as much as they hate their pseudo oppressors will be a marvelous day for this country, and for themselves.

Access and Anger the story of a liberal blogger

Stacy notes the results of a conference call between liberal bloggers and David Axelrod, apparently it didn’t go all that well.

The call seemed to perfectly capture the tense dynamic that exists between the White House and the online and organized left: Though White House advisers in the past have dumped on the left, anonymously and even on the record, Axelrod repeatedly pleaded with the bloggers on the call for help in pumping up the flagging enthusiasm of rank and file Dems.

Mind you this is a liberal blogger who has the ear of the architect of the Obama campaign. I’m with Left Coast Rebel, being constantly shocked and honored when I get the attention and respect I do from candidates and people with authority in government. The woman in question has the ear of David Axelrod and thinks she thinks she’s treated like Dangerfield?

Stacy decides to provide an education starting thusly:

The conservative blogosphere staged an uprising when the GOP establishment tried to shove Charlie Crist down our throats, fought tooth and nail to defeat a sitting Republican senator in Alaska, and recently dumped the ”safe” Mike Castle in favor of Christine the Teenage Witch. We’re rather lose an election than to get screwed over by people who don’t respect us.

Our liberal moonbat counterparts dismiss us as dangerous extremist wingnuts, but we actually expect the politicians we support to pursue our wingnut extremist agenda — whatever that agenda may actually be, because at this point, all we care about is electing people who will vote “no” to Obama’s agenda.

Ms. Madrek took exception to Stacy’s post and his looks. All I know is there never seems to be a shortage of women of spectacular mind and appearance who wish to take a picture with Stacy. (I’ll have to loan her one of my fedoras). As for her anger Stacy comments again:

You’ve got nothing to complain about, ma’am. You are the author of your own disgrace, having devoted years to the advancement of false ideas and false leaders. Rather than blaming the people who have deceived you, or blaming yourself for believing their lies, instead you continue to blame the same old bogeymen: Republicans, Christians, “Corporate America,” capitalism, patriarchy, etc.

So as Glen Reynolds said:

JON STEWART ON OBAMA: “I thought he’d do a better job.” You did, huh? Based on what, his extensive experience? Rube.

Don’t feel bad Ms. Suzie look at the bright side, there are absolutely millions of Americans who feel just as used as you by this administration, at least you get to tell them this directly.

….has it’s uses.

Does the left actually understand how they look when they decide the Delaware election should turn on WitchCraft and masturbation as opposed to say….jobs and the economy?

The fact is the left would likely actually approve of the witchcraft business, the idea is to convince people who might vote for O’Donnell on the right that she is unsuitable for support, electoral or financial.

The problem here is that their vision of the right and the tea party is a parody of what they think the right is.

As long as that parody is their vision they will continue to fail, so more python moments please.

Oh and Mr. Soros, whatever you’re paying your guys, it’s much too much.
