In the last hour there was an attempt to assassinate Donald Trump he appears to be wounded in the ear. There are conflicting reports of if anyone else was killed or wounded (other than the shooters). This is from Byron York

As I’m tying this the report is one attendee is dead and another wounded. Right now on twitter there are a bunch of leftists complaining “How can you miss” to the point where it is trending on twitter. I have this question for Elon Musk:

I wonder if those upset that Trump survived are consoled that they managed to kill at least one of his supporters.

Here are the headlines from the MSM at the time I posted this one twitter:

Well I guess when you scream that Trump is a threat to democracy and that he’s Hitler for a year this is not a shock. On the plus side for the media they now have an excuse to stop talking about Joe Biden’s mental health but I suspect this is going to hurt their chances in November even more.

My first thought and it’s actually a rather terrible one, Given the left’s continual Trump derangement fed by the media, academic, Hollywood and Democrats in congress I’m really shocked that it’s taken this long for someone to try to kill him.

I’ll close with this:

Update: the iconic photo

Update 2:

The White House has put out a statement but Joe Biden hasn’t spoken on it, that makes sense because the last thing democrats need is the contrast between the pair emphasized.

Update 3: Boy was I wrong. Heard Joe Biden’s statement on the radio on the way to supper. I don’t think it could have been more perfect in the situation. Furthermore it was his best public performance and the most presidential thing he has done in a long time.

I don’t think this was a calculation in this moment but I’d say this speech guarantees that he stays on the ticket

“I don’t know enough, I have an opinion but I don’t have any facts so I want to make sure we have all the fact before I make some comment or comments.”

The world would be a better place if a lot of people took that last line to heart.

Update 4: Donald Trump put out a statement on Truth social:

Solid statement as well particularly leading with thanks to law enforcement and condolence to the person murdered in the attempt to kill him.

Has it really only been a week?

If nothing else the last seven days has proved one of my favorite maxims about “Conventional Wisdom” true:

Conventional Wisdom is ALWAYS correct…right up until the moment it isn’t

Donald Trump has pretty much been following the old military maxim to not get in the way when your enemy is falling apart however he did interject himself slightly with a post on Truth social offering to go mano a mano in a 90 minute no moderator live debate anytime any place to give Joe Biden a chance to prove his assertion that’s he fine.

The White House can only ignore this offer as even if it’s held first thing in the morning with a gag tied around Trump’s mouth there is no way Joe “Black Woman” Biden could do this without disaster.

What a difference a week makes eh?

Van Jones is already saying the decision has been made to replace Biden even though:

  1. Biden insists he’s staying
  2. Legally he can’t be made to leave without his own consent or his death

The most effective way to remove the left’s no longer useful idiot Biden other than killing him and pretending it’s old age (at least plausible) or not catching him “in time” at his next fall (again plausible) would be to threaten to allow Merrick Garland to suddenly “discover” proof of all of the deals where the big man got his 10% but that of course conflicts with the new narrative of Biden as a “decent” man (a word I’m not heard to describe him in his 50 year career who has done good service but is now too old to go on.

We will know tonight after his interview with George “The fixer” Stephanopoulos. As the interview is taped we will know what the orders from those actually running the country are by the cut of that interview.

If it shows Biden in the best possible light in terms of lucidity then we know that they’ve decided the poll number demand Biden stay.

If it shows a cut where Biden is sympathetic but unable to function then you know the decision has been made to dump him and it’s just a matter of forcing the matter.

We’ll know tonight

The press is still going all out to try to pretend that they knew absolutely nothing about Joe Biden’s mental decline. At the moment their credibility is as healthy as the UK conservative party who just lost in a landslide to labor thanks to the emergence of the UK Reform party. This has to change if they are to be an effective weapon for the left in a 2nd Trump Term

While they will likely find enough people who want to be fooled to play along we now need a new nickname for the MSM. The obvious choice is the Schultz Brigade as they insist they saw nothing and knew NUTHing about Biden’s mental state

But as that reference even with the Family Guy update is a tad dated I think given their united insistence until 8 days ago that all of the video of Biden demonstrating his mental state were “deepfakes” I think from this point on the Mainstream Media should now be called the #deepshitmedia or if you want to be more polite and less accurate the #deepfakemedia

I’m fine with either choice

Finally if Joe Biden resigns from the president and Kamala Harris becomes POTUS the left will insist on a quick choice for VP as she would be one heartbeat away from America’s 3rd President Johnson.

To me the obvious choice is former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.

There are several reasons why he would be an excellent pick that checks several important boxes

  1. His pick would not be would not be a threat to any up and coming dem
  2. As an old man at the end of his career a six month stint as VP would not be beyond him
  3. He has name recognition and popularity among the black vote which the Dems need
  4. His record in SF would appeal to the left.
  5. He’s still articulate and would have no issue defending this administration

All solid and practical reasons but most of all it would be payback not only for a lifetime of service to the Democrat party but would be a personal sign of gratitude from the first woman president acknowledging that she would not have risen to the most powerful position in the world without his discovering her and giving her career the most passionate forward thrusts he could.

An important and realistic lesson to all young girls on the easiest way for a woman to get ahead.

By Christopher Harper

I spent nearly two years in the Washington news bubble, which became so bad that I left to cover the civil war in Lebanon.

My experience in Washington happened more than 40 years ago, but not much has changed.

Back then, Washington journalists had become part of the city’s elites, bringing down presidents, earning big bucks from book deals, and failing to acknowledge their biases.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly 2,000 journalists work in Washington, the highest concentration of reporters in the country. One out of every 30 people in the District of Columbia works in journalism.

A recent study from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications revealed a stark lack of political diversity among American journalists, with just 3.4% identifying as Republicans and a significant 36.4% as Democrats.

Simply put, many of those polled lied. Many journalists of my era chose their jobs because they wanted to see change. They spouted the required allegiance to objectivity, fairness, and nonpartisanship. But you also had to present a point of view to stay acceptable to those on the cocktail and dinner circuits.

I worked in Washington during Jimmy Carter’s presidency. The group grope was that Carter and his band of Georgians were country rabble and had no business running the country.

The press corps was hell-bent on ensuring he didn’t get a second term. I generally covered the second or third-string Carter f-up stories for Newsweek. It wasn’t hard to find these stories because Carter and his aides didn’t know much about running the federal government.

Back then, the bar talk revolved around how the country could survive a president who wore a sweater during an address to the nation about energy policy.

For the past eight years, the Washington media elite has attacked Trump as a dangerous rube who had no business running the country. Now, in yet another group grope, the journalistic elite, who covered up Biden’s intellectual decline, suddenly realized the current president isn’t up to snuff.

I hope the nation realizes President Biden was not the only loser in last week’s debate. The Washington media should also be blamed for allowing him to hide his weaknesses.

One of the basic themes of the Donald Trump Campaign is summed up neatly in a simple meme that’s been around for a bit:

Given the events of the last four to eight years this is something that’s easily believable to anyone who has paid attention, but to those who:

  1. Have not paid attention
  2. Distrust or dislike Trump due to style
  3. Hate Trump with an irrational passion

The very idea that they (the left/deep state) are after us is either:

  1. Ignored or dismissed as rhetoric
  2. Disbelieved outright
  3. Considered irrelevant because their hatred of Trump justifies any action to stop him.

And that’s why Donald Trump has agreed to debate terms that no other sane man would tolerate.

You see Trump knows many of these people for what they are. For an entire lifetime they feted him, celebrated him, worked to get close to him and begged him for money. It wasn’t until he became a political threat to the left that he suddenly became a racist, or a Russian plant or anything else they started to call him (You might recall the Morning Joe crowd who are among the most vitriolic Trump haters out there celebrated and promoted him during the 2016 GOP primaries when they were convinced that if nominated he would lose and lose big). To function in big Democrat cities he had to work with a lot of them and was the sober man at every party where they were drinking and talking.

He also knows regular Americans not just from the campaign trail, but from getting to know the builders and workers who not only put up his buildings but worked in them. He knows many of them understand basic fairness and decency.

On Thursday a lot of those people who haven’t been paying attention, or distrust what he says or hate him irrationally will be watching and it’s unlike any other presidential debate that has ever existed because it’s the first time in the history of a presidential debate where BOTH CANDIDATES HAVE ALREADY BEEN PRESIDENT.

It’s not going to be about policy, all those watching know the policies that each administration pursued, it won’t even be about the economy, all those watching know what the economy is and what it was. Even a 15 year old is old enough to understand the difference between how things were five years ago and how they are now. No the question up to be answered is who can lead and who has to be led and who will give them a fair shake.

That why Trump’s campaign lady went on CNN and that’s why CNN had to censor her when she said what everyone who has paid attention knew to be true:

She did so to establish what the reality is going to be, because while a lot of people haven’t been paying attention to the election they have heard of this:

and see this:

So when Trump goes before two CNN moderators who attack him and defer to Biden for 90 minutes in front of the watching world he’s counting on all those who have not been paying attention, those who disbelieve his claim of unequal treatment and those who are nevertrump at all costs to see it for what it is.

  1. The people who weren’t paying attention will see the reality, perhaps for the first time
  2. The people who distrust Trump will recognize what is happening and believe (much like the Jews of America are having their eyes opened to the left lately
  3. The “never trump at all cost” crowd will recognize it point, laugh and cheer because their hatred overrides all but perhaps even a few of them will find it a bridge too far.

They’re going to make his case for him. He’s counting on it.
