You know your bite is poisonous and now I'm going to die"

This ad from the DeSantis camp is the first open hit on President Trump and it’s a valid one:

You see there is one basic thing that President Trump missed that has now become very apparent during the Joe Biden years.

If there are no consequences for bad behavior (such as mass shoplifting looting, setting fires and assaulting people on the streets) you get more of it.

Likewise if there is no punishment for corruption in government you get more of it. DeSantis understands this and has made the left pay the price in Florida.

Donald Trump let the left in general and the Clintons in particular off the hook on their corruption because while he was a bit off the reservation in the sense of getting things that needed to be done for the people done, in the end this was the circle he has previous traveled in and hoped once his term(s) were over to travel in again so he let them know that his rhetoric about corruption and draining the swamp was just business.

Alas he didn’t recognize that the swamp didn’t feel the same and even has his campaign in general and he himself in particularly rightly cry foul over the corrupt use of government against him to criminalize political speech they can paraphrase his own words against him

Oh shut up, silly Donald,” leftists cry and laugh and scoff
“You knew well what we were back on the day you let us off

…but apparently if you’re doing so to DeSantis suddenly the MSM, fake media that pushed the Russia Hoax the false J6 narrative and has been pushing the Trump indictments are disqualifying are suddenly to folks like Kari Lake and Donald Trump Jr a reliable source that must be trusted. Which is particularly funny in Lake’s case as her entire campaign in Arizona was based on her calling them out.

I mean it’s not like there isn’t a glaring edit in the middle of the damn video that only an idiot could miss.

Here is the actual clip

Now I’m not actually surprised by the Trump campaign’s reaction because it’s Trump’s nature to fight in this way. Indeed one of the things that make Trump appealing other than his record is that he fights like a Democrat and when the target is a Democrat people who have have seen the left get away with this kind of stuff without pushback for years tend to smile because a Jacksonian believes that if you’re fighting against someone who doesn’t fight fair, they don’t get a fair fight back. It’s one of the reasons why Trump is my 2nd choice after DeSantis over the rest of the GOP field that has no fight in them whatsoever.

But right now we’re in a GOP primary and Trump is fighting the single best GOP governor we have in the country using the same type of tactics & lies that the Dems used against him. Why because he understand that voters, not pols vote. (at least in GOP primaries where the boxes are stuffed)

That last thing President Trump needs on the GOP primary ballot is a person with a solid conservative record both of accomplishment and defeating the left who can appeal to those people particularly in swing states, that are suffering from Trump fatigue.

I submit and suggest the only person more afraid of Gov Ron DeSantis than the MSM and left is Donald Trump.

But in fairness if DeSantis is going to beat the Dems in November he has to be able to handle this kind of dishonest attack because it’s exactly the same type of tactics that the Biden campaign will throw at him and worse so it’s good practice for the fall.

Closing thought: If Trump is the nominee it will be interesting to see the same people touting these tactics by CNN vs DeSantis being outraged when they’re used against Trump again.

#unexpectedly of course.

Democrat Bosses in Wisconsin Michigan and Minnesota had no inkling that the election [2016] was close, that being the case there was no reason why, in an age where proof of a federal offense is a cell phone video away, Dem bosses in Detroit or elsewhere felt the need to take any risk.  They figured those states were won (and they were right about Minnesota) and by election night it was too late to change it.

However that won’t be the case in 2020,  I’ll wager that in 2020 the bosses in Milwaukee, Detroit, Madison and elsewhere will be ready, we’ll see plenty of mail in ballots and absentee ballots that we didn’t see before in those states and plenty of voters looking to go for the GOP will be in the same spot that Steven Kruiser was on election night.

The time to be ready for 2020 Fraud is NOW! Nov 18th 2016 reprinted Nov 7th 2020

I was going to write a piece today about a standing problem Donald Trump has with the GOP electorate for 2024 but that can wait a bit because as I was writing the piece I began with a caveat and realized that said caveat is should be the single biggest issue for any potential GOP voter who wants to stop the weaponization of the government against them before it ends as such things always do.

The question is this:

“What will you as the GOP nominee for President do to prevent the election from being illegally stolen from you either in the six key counties that were used to steal the last one or elsewhere and what will you do to counter Democrats tactics like ballot harvesting in states where it is legal to do so.”

As Salma Zito noted there are in fact lots of GOP voters who are sick of the subject and may reject the premise of the question and if a candidate prefaces any answer with something like: “I’m not going to re-litigate 2020…” but still has a credible action plan in place to address potential fraud that’s good enough for me. After all General Sherman never admitted he made a mistake in the frontal assault on the Confederate forces at Kennesaw Mountain but he never repeated it. As long as a GOP candidate doesn’t repeat the mistakes of 2020 I don’t care what he says about it.

BUT: Any potential GOP nominee who does not have a good answer to this question AND rejects the need for an action plan to address this question has absolutely no business being considered for the nomination because they are either:

  • An idiot too stupid to be president

OR

  • A false flag candidate in the employ of the left/deep state

Without the right stance on this issue any other argument for a candidate means nothing because that candidate can not win, not even against Joe Biden.

You have been warned.

I’ll leave the closing argument to Sarah Hoyt who saw all of this coming months before anyone else in 2020:

Look, they are tainted by the previous failed coups, tainted by (most if not all of them) accepting money from Xi, and FYI China ALWAYS arranges for extra compromise for security, honeypots being their favorite, tainted even by association with Epstein. A second Trump term means a good chance that they go down hard and don’t get up again.

ALL OF THEM from the left politicians to the so called “tech lords” are fighting for their lives.
They’re cornered rats. There’s nothing they won’t do.

As I have said before in this space I would happily vote for either Donald Trump OR Ron DeSantis if either wins the GOP nomination for president in 2024 (although the other than a Ted Cruz presidency the ideal would be Trump for 4 more followed by 8 years of DeSantis) and the country would be well served by either.

Frankly DeSantis has been doing an excellent job of wooing me and I’ve not been big on the Trump attacks on him, but there is a question that I think those pushing his candidacy need to answer..

One of the arguments that we hear from the shadow DeSantis crowd is that Trump is “unelectable” (or more properly “un re-electable” ) They may or may not have a point as Trump derangement syndrome is a real thing and the left has demonstrated that disaster is better than , but I would like to ask those who would push DeSantis on those grounds these questions:

  1. What makes you think that the same democrat counties in critical states that played with the vote count in 2020 would not do so again in 2024 if DeSantis is the nominee?
  2. Donald Trump has already stated publicly that the GOP needs to ballot harvest in the Democrat fashion, What tactics will a DeSantis campaign do to counter Democrats in states that haven’t pushed the excellent election reforms that he put in place in Florida to counter Democrat dirty tricks?
  3. We already know that Trump will fight back on any attempt to steal an election from him in 2024. As there is no reason to believe Democrats would not use the same tactics against DeSantis, what steps will he take to prevent and/or counter any Democrat attempt to steal the 2024 election from him?

Oh and any person who claims: “Democrats won’t try to steal the election if Trump isn’t on the ballot” is too stupid to work on any campaign.
