We knew the Mosque issue was going to be all over the news.

Morning Joe has been a shield in front of the president all Morning vocally defending the president without hesitation on the NY Mosque issue.

But defense is not enough so they decided to counterattack, however Who they choose to attack says a lot about what they think.

This weekend on on Facebook Sarah Palin said this:

Mr. President, should they or should they not build a mosque steps away from where radical Islamists killed 3000 people? Please tell us your position. We all know that they have the right to do it, but should they? And, no, this is not above your pay grade. If those who wish to build this Ground Zero mosque are sincerely interested in encouraging positive “cross-cultural engagement” and dialogue to show a moderate and tolerant face of Islam, then why haven’t they recognized that the decision to build a mosque at this particular location is doing just the opposite? Mr. President, why aren’t you encouraging the mosque developers to accept Governor Paterson’s generous offer of assistance in finding a new location for the mosque on state land if they move it away from Ground Zero? Why haven’t they jumped at this offer? Why are they apparently so set on building a mosque steps from what you have described, in agreement with me, as “hallowed ground”? I believe these are legitimate questions to ask.

A clear, lucid statement from one of the leading contenders if not THE leading contender for the Republican Nomination in 2012. A person who was on a National Ticket just 2 years ago.

Normally Sarah Palin means views and hits so naturally they would be injecting her whenever possible…

…but this statement would win votes, so we can’t have that.

Instead they are going after Newt Gingrich for saying it is like “putting a Swastika next to the Holocaust museum” (they don’t manage to quote him saying: “There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia.” too many people would get that), and are touting him both as a voice of intolerance and as the republican front runner.

Let’s cut to the chase. Newt Gingrich is no more going to be the Republican nominee in 2012 that I am. These people know this, but pretend otherwise.

This is simply political cover, cover for Obama’s statements and covering up Sarah Palin’s statements so a weak White House doesn’t have to respond.

I would suggest that Democratic Candidates prepare to answer that question too, because each one will be asked it, and not all places in the US vote as Ann Arbor does.

In one respect it might help them. A lot of candidates need to put some distance between this administration and themselves and here is one way to do so.

Memeorandum thread here

In this post:

Imagine yourself on the evening of Sept. 11, 2001.

As you sat there in shock, what if someone had told you that in 10 years, the World Trade Center would still be a crater. However, just off of Ground Zero, a gigantic, 13-story mosque would be erected. A mosque endorsed by President Barack Hussein Obama.

You would have thought we had lost a war, wouldn’t you?

I don’t see how anyone can honestly disagree with that statement.

Memeorandum thread here.

After seeing this story and watching it in disbelief (forgetting the political implications) all I could say is this: I’ve not seen an action by this president that more confirms that The Post American Presidency is a perfect title for Pam Geller’s book on this administration.

She comments as follows:

Obama came out for the Islamic supremacist mosque at the hallowed ground of 911 attack. He has, in effect, sided with the Islamic jihadists and told the ummah (at an Iftar dinner on the third night of Ramadan, of course) that he believes in and supports a triumphal mosque on the cherished site of Islamic conquest.

If you had any doubt who Obama stood with on 911, there can be no doubt in our minds now.

I really Really REALLY don’t want to agree with that last statement. I will say is this, considering style, venue and the force of this declaration by the elected president of the United States 2012 can’t come fast enough for me.

I’ve always argued that a free society and free people have the right to be wrong, I just never thought we’d exercise our right to be this wrong!

At Big Hollywood Greg Gutfeld details a session of tweets with the Park51 people that I had the pleasure to see in progress:

And so I return to that tweet I received from the Mosque-teers earlier this week. When I asked them if they would welcome my new Islamic gay bar (the most popular name by the way, is “Outfidels”) next to their center, they wrote:

You’re free to open whatever you like. If you won’t consider the sensibilities of Muslims, you’re not going to build dialog.

And so, eariler, I tried to build dialogue. I tweeted them all day, asking them why they rejected Paterson – and offered them a spot on Redeye.

They evaded the question – and, in the spirit of communication and tolerance – turned down my show. Their reasoning: I wouldn’t engage in “dialogue.”

So, by asking them to come on the show, and talk about the mosque, I was not engaging in “dialogue.” And by refusing to come on the show, they were.

And here again you see where, when it comes to the mosque, tolerance is a one-way street. We tolerate them. They hate us.

So Gutfeld has proven that the people involved in this mosque are disingenuous.

But remembering Moonbattery’s video concerning Islam successfully proving that Radical Islam might not be telling the truth is as exciting as proving Lindsy Lohan’s virtue might be questionable.

So that is a victory of sorts but since it will not be considered “proof” by anyone who actually opposes the Mosque it is a Pyrrhic victory.

Moral victories mean nothing to Radical Islam, they only understand force.
