It is inaccurate to say that the Republican Party removed Kevin McCarthy from the Speakership of the House of Representatives.   In reality, eight traitorous Republicans conspired with all of the Democrats in the House to remove the Republican Speaker.  Democrats would never conspire to do anything with the other side of the isle because Democrats have always been far more united than the Republicans.  On this one point the Republicans should emulate the Democrats.

If all of the Republicans in the House had stood united and removed McCarthy bccause he violated his promises, then quickly replaced him with a true Conservative, the Republicans would be worthy of praise rather than the ridicule they have earned.

Republicans are proving just how stupid they are and earning all of the ridicule hurled at them as this debacle stretches on and on.  What makes this farce worse is the fact that the most worthy Conservative candidate will most likely be rejected, 20 House Republicans Decline to Vote for Jim Jordan for Speaker (breitbart.com)

Twenty House Republicans on Tuesday declined to vote to make Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) the next Speaker of the House.

“With Jordan supporter Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) absent, Jordan could not lose more than three Republicans on his quest to receive the necessary 217 votes. Bilirakis is expected back in Washington on Tuesday evening,” Breitbart News’s Bradley Jaye wrote.

Twenty House Republicans declined to vote for Jordan as the Ohio Republican is within striking distance of becoming the next Speaker of the House.

It is becoming obvious to everyone just how moronic the Republicans are: The Party of Idiots (townhall.com)

It starts at the top, with the head of the Republican National Committee agreeing to two primary debates with Fox News and Telemundo, where the questions were either better suited to a Democrat debate or just so far beyond stupid that embarrassment is the only thing anyone should feel for those involved. (That dumb “Survivor” question, anyone?)

From there, a tiny group of House members decided that all the attention being focused on the failures of Democrats was bad and wandered into a field of rakes, stepping on them with glee as each handle smacked them in the face. “We need to rock the boat” is something people on the Titanic never said, but these Republicans chose to steer the ship into the iceberg for…reasons.

If Republicans could get the hell out of their own way, they might actually get some really good things done. If they could stop walking out into a field of rakes and stop buying and throwing so many rakes on the ground everywhere, we might win.

Instead, the Republican Party is a party of idiots. Idiots are very good at getting on highly rated cable TV shows and having a large social media following, but they are horrible at leading. Horrible at addressing problems. They are horrible at not making literally everything about them.

This saga keeps getting more and more ridiculous.  Check out these three articles:

Why Republicans Are Plotting Against Jordan In the Race for Speaker (townhall.com)

NBC News reported that U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) and several other Republicans have participated in closed-door meetings with Democrat House Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to reach a solution to keep Jordan from securing the required 218 votes to become the new House Speaker.

Only five Republicans need to vote “no” to succeed.

“They put us in this ditch along with eight traitors,” Rogers told reporters. “We’re still the majority party; we’re willing to work with them, but they gotta tell us what they need.”

Scalise Trying to Undermine Jordan Speakership Bid Ahead of 2nd Ballot (breitbart.com)

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) is attempting to undermine Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) bid for the Speakership gavel after voting for him on the first ballot, sources familiar with the matter have confirmed to Breitbart News.

CNN’s Annie Grayer noted on X that the majority leader would not commit to helping Jordan secure the 17 outstanding votes he needs for the top House job. This is despite Jordan requesting his aid, as the House has not had a Speaker since now-former Speaker Kevin McCarthy was removed on October 3. Sources on Capitol Hill have confirmed Grayer’s reporting to Breitbart News.

As she puts it, sources say Scalise, who failed in his bid for the gavel, is “Not being a team player.”

Jeffries: ‘Informal Conversations’ Taking Place for Bipartisan Solution to Speakership (breitbart.com)

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that “informal conversations” are taking place for a bipartisan solution to the House speakership.

Anchor Kristen Welker said, “Are you actually having conversations behind the scenes with the Republican counterparts about trying to create a bipartisan solution, a governing coalition?”  Jeffries said, “There are informal conversations that have been underway. When we get back to Washington tomorrow, it’s important to begin to formalize those discussions.”

RINOS WIN: Jim Jordan Withdraws, Won’t Seek Third Vote

I have no non-work net access at work nor do I own a cell phone so I was planning to write something about the Pope tonight when I instead got word of what went on in the house.

Seriously? With a six vote majority you vote out a speaker who on the whole has exceeded expectations for conservatives despite holding the thinnest of thin majorities?

The GOP is called the stupid party for a reason

One of the objections to Speaker McCarthy was that he made a deal with the Democrats for a continuing resolution to keep government open. A resolution Democrats were so afraid of passing that one of the pulled a fire alarm to keep it from happening.

So because they were so upset at McCarthy for working with Democrats to keep the government funded, those who opposed him worked with the entire Democrat caucus to remove him.

Am I the only one noticing the Irony here?

To me the most frightening part of this is what Glenn Reynolds noted:

Heck, if I’m the Democrats, I vote somebody tolerable as President Pro Tem of the Senate, then have Biden and Kamala both step down. With the Speakership of the House vacant, they could pick a succesor president that easily. If I’m Chuck Schumer, I’m scheming for that right now . . .

As of this moment there is no GOP member in the line of succession. This is the perfect chance for the left to rid themselves of both Biden and Harris. That Gaetz & company didn’t think of this is criminal.

I hate to say it but given the violence we’ve seen from the left if I was Joe Biden or Kamala Harris I’d be scared for my life till a new speaker is in place.

The logical questions that comes from all of this are these:

  1. Who is an acceptable speaker to these eight?
  2. Do the eight have a candidate who would be acceptable to the rest of the party
  3. Would the eight support any candidate that didn’t give them the power to boot him and would any republican in his right mind take the job knowing that these people will boot him if he doesn’t obey?
  4. How long are these people willing to keep the house without a speaker?
  5. Are there any parliamentary tricks that the Democrats can use to get the speakership if the GOP doesn’t have their full membership present to keep them from winning such a vote and if so who on the GOP side are watching for that?
  6. Did they think of any of this stuff before taking this vote

This is pretty much a dog catching a car and not knowing what to do with it, or as Sam Rayburn used to say: “Any old jackass can knock down a barn door, it takes a carpenter to build one.”

Now I’m just a small blogger who has been here for almost 15 years and I’d like a conservative speaker to advance conservative values so let me give a piece of advice to members of the GOP who would like that, particularly the entertaining eight.

If you want to get a strong conservative as speaker elect enough republicans to get a solid majority so that you can put through a conservative speaker

If you don’t elect republicans you don’t get a conservative speaker and if you are not able or willing to go out and find republicans who can win in districts currently held by Democrats and support them to the max then all the bluster about Speaker McCarthy is just BS.

Let’s cut to the chase here

My “day” job is in a warehouse, it’s not a glamorous job and it doesn’t pay great but it’s been deemed essential. I’m regularly within six feet of others and while we are all required to wear masks and have our temps taken I’m expected to show up for work and do so to pay the bills

My wife is a registered nurse. She works in a nursing home. She is regularly in contact with sick people and at least one co-worker that she had been in regular contact with has had the virus. She is tested weekly, and is expected to show up for work and she does to pay the bills.

My youngest son works in a supermarket in the deli/fish department. At work he is in regular close contact with others. Today he is out with a fever (his covid test came up negative ) and because of an earlier quarantine has no sick days left. Once the fever is gone he is expected to show up for work and will do so to pay the bills.

Which brings us to members of the House.

The members of the house make more than my wife, my son and myself combined. They have jobs of great power, prestige and posistion and every two years beg us not only for those jobs, but for money to spend to secure those jobs for another two years.

Yet despite this they are unwilling to take the same risk my wife, my son and myself take regularly to make our living after begging us to have those jobs.

I’m sorry if you want to be our leaders and you’re not willing to take the same risk as a warehouse worker, a dell worker or a nurse then resign your office and make room for someone who is.

Nancy Pelosi is telling democrats in tough races that they should be willing to give up their seats to pass the healthcare bill.

Ok Madame Speaker, since you are so adamant about this issue I have a suggestion:

Resign.

Resign today!

Show your fellow democrats that power doesn’t mean anything to you. Show that you are so committed to this bill and all the good it will do. Show them that you will give up your safe seat in the house in order to inspire others to risk theirs.

Forgetting the political advantage, this will give you time to actually enjoy life outside of Washington while you are still young enough to do so. Spend time with your children and grandchildren, it’s the greatest pleasure in life. You might even take the time to get yourself right with the church again.

Your seat is safely democratic so you are sure to see it kept by the party, maybe you should get the other chairmen in safe seats to follow you as an example.

The world is waiting on you Nancy, do you have the guts to give up what you are asking your fellows to risk? What will the order be?

Go! or Follow?

Update: Another reason for Nancy to resign. She gave my friend Adrienne a headache yesterday.
