Here is the Indulgence Calendar for November:

And if you read this page you’ll know that for the next eight days there are special plenary indulgences available:

Visiting a cemetery and praying for the dead always carries a partial indulgence but carries a Plenary Indulgence if done from today Nov 1st through Nov 8th

Furthermore there is a Plenary Indulgence for visiting ANY church on all souls day (Nov 2)

And to top that off, because of the jubilee year you can earn TWO plenary indulgences a day rather than the normal 1

So you are in a position to earn a plenary indulgence for a loved one AND for yourself every single day this week through next Saturday.

And remember a plenary indulgence removes ALL temporal punishment for sins already forgiven so if applied to a soul in purgatory it finishes the job and gets them to heaven and if applied to yourself removes (from that point) any time due in Purgatory for sins already confessed and forgiven.

Remember God’s mercy keeps you from Hell (That’s being saved) God’s justice requires restitution for your sins and purification from the effects of those sins as something imperfect can’t enter heaven (Thus Purgatory) or as Christ himself put it:

If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate, make an effort to settle the matter on the way; otherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the constable, and the constable throw you into prison.

I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”

Luke 12:58-59 Emphasis mine

It’s the first of the month so it’s time for the Indulgence Calendar at DaTechGuy Blog for any and all who wish to pray for and help out the souls in purgatory.

It’s also All Saints Day a holy day of obligation for Catholics as we honor the saints in heaven, the Church Triumphant who have fought and won the good fight that we the church militant are still fighting on earth.

Because it’s All Saints Day it also means that there is a special series of indulgences that we have earn every single day through November 8th either for ourselves or for the Church Suffering (the souls in purgatory).

Beginning today, continuing tomorrow on All Souls Day ( where the church remembers the souls in purgatory) and throughout the octave of this Holy Day of Obligation a Plenary indulgence is available each day for anyone who visits a graveyard and prays for the dead.

These indulgences are available under the normal rules: which are:

  1. Communion the day of the indulgence (covers all indulgences that day)
  2. Prayers for the intentions of the Pope (covers all indulgences that day)
  3. Confession within 20 days before or after the day of the indulgence (covers all indulgences during that period of time)
  4. MUST be in a state of grace at the time of the indulgence (no unconfessed mortal sins)

Also be aware that unless your death is imminent you can only gain one Plenary Indulgence a day so if you earned for say:

  • Visiting the Blessed Sacrament for a half hour or more
  • Reading scripture for a half hour or more
  • Praying a group Rosary

then the indulgence you earn will be only partial.

Finally a plenary indulgence automatically becomes partial if you have any attachment to sin (that’s why they are so hard to get).

So if you’re a Catholic take advantage of these next 8 days, your soul and the souls in purgatory will thank you.

Anyways here is this month’s indulgence Calendars to download if you want.

The Indulgence calendars for November are now up. You can down load them off the sidebar or here

Because it is November there are special Plenary Indulgences available.

Every year from Nov 1st (Today All Saints Day) through Nov 8th the partial indulgence for visiting a cemetery and praying for the dead becomes a full Plenary indulgence (under the normal conditions listed above). In addition to this tomorrow Nov 2nd (All Souls day) a Plenary indulgence can be earned by simply visiting a church.

Normally this indulgence returns to a partial indulgence after the 8th but Pope Francis has graciously extended the chance to earn a Plenary Indulgence for visiting a cemetery and praying for the dead for the entire month of November.

This is actually very similar to what he did when he declared a holy year (normally every 25 years) about a decade ago making the indulgences and graces of such a year available a full decade early. In my opinion this act, along with his warnings on the reality of the Devil they have been the highlights of his papacy.

So take advantage of Francis’ excellent extension of this annual grace to gain a Plenary Indulgence for a soul in purgatory and remember to take advantage of all the partial indulgences available on a daily basis.

The soul you save just might be your own.

The September indulgence calendars for those who have taken up this devotion that we stated on the site is now up.

As before both the regular indulgence calendar with names for you to earn indulgences for that day, and a blank indulgence calendar for those who wish to fill in your own names in or take it as a template to create your own indulgence calendar for your parish or group. are up.

In addition to this post both Calendars will also be available in the links section of this blog under “Catholic” immediately and at the WQPH 89.3 FM web site eventually.

As always these indulgences are available under the normal conditions which are listed on the calendars: The norms are as follows:

  1. Communion on the day of an indulgence. This can be applied to any amount of indulgences that day.
  2. Confession within twenty days of the day of an indulgence. Applies to all indulgences during that period
  3. Prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father (an Our Father, Hail Mary or any appropriate prayer) once
    per day of indulgence.
  4. To earn an indulgence you must be in a state of grace (no unconfessed mortal sin) at the time of the
    indulgenced act)
  5. Indulgences can only be applied to the dead or to the person earning the indulgence. They can not be
applied to any other living person.
  6. For a PLENARY indulgence you must have NO attachment to sin. If such an attachment exists the
    indulgence earned is only partial.
  7. A plenary indulgence can only be earned one a day (expect if death is imminent), there is no limits to
    partial indulgences daily.
  8. An indulgence attached to a feast day is still valid if the feast day is transferred lawfully.
  9. A specific day’s indulgence requiring a visit to a particular church or oratory can be made from noon the
previous day to midnight on the actual day.
  10. No unbaptized person nor any Christian who is currently under the penalty of excommunication may
    earn an indulgence.
  11. You must ACTIVELY seek and or state your intention to obtain an indulgence for the act or prayer that
    carries it to be valid.
