Mika looks like she is going to throw up.  Joe can’t believe it, you’d never know he was a republican, and Jon “I ran Newsweek so well that it sold for less than a Whopper Jr.” Meacham is now re-evaluating Barack Obama.

Well you know Jon as a wise woman once said.

“If you say someone is qualified when they are not you lose credibility!”

But hey who knew that Obama might not be all that he seemed to be.

Well maybe they could change the subject to something like Helen Thomas’ latest rant. Or did that actually happen? I see a memeorandum thread and Michael Totten

She’s right that no American would tolerate white-only roads. Israelis, likewise, would never tolerate roads for Jews only. That’s why such roads don’t exist.

The roads she’s referring to in the West Bank are Israeli, and they’re not just for Jews. Israeli Arabs can drive on them, and so can non-Jewish foreigners, including Arab and Muslim foreigners. Palestinians were once able to drive on them but have not been allowed to do so since the second intifada, when suicide bombers used them to penetrate Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in order to massacre people.

There are also, by the way, Palestinian roads in the West Bank that Israelis can’t use.

I’d say that’s news even more so that the 60 minutes facebook piece. What do you think? Over to you guys.

Helen when you even have Alan Colmes hitting you

then odds are you’ve crossed the line.

But hey Helen Thomas is an old lady it’s not like you have mainstream magazines advising people not to help out during Israel’s big fire right?

There are a great many good causes in Israel that deserve help, and a great many causes here in America that deserve our help. It seems to me, however, that Israel’s national fire service should be funded by Israel’s government, not by the people of Boca Raton, Potomac and the Upper West Side.

My sympathy is with the people who lost their lives, their families, and those still in danger. It is not with a government that appears to be negligent. And I’m not going to contribute funds that might serve to paper-over the government’s inadequacies.

You know I don’t quite remember his column saying that the US shouldn’t have accepted help in the BP disaster or that the rest of the country shouldn’t have helped New Orleans since the state was corrupt and didn’t use federal funding properly.

What is really odd, while bloggers like Jim Hoff are rightly upset at least one group of people are unexpectedly not taking Goldberg’s advice

Twenty-one Palestinian firefighters arrived at the Mount Carmel region on Sunday to assist Israel in its battle against the huge wildfire which has claimed the lives of 41 people.

Hey Jeff when even Palestinians are helping when you are advising otherwise, I’d say think again, but then again the American Left has really degenerated when it comes to Israel and Jews over the last 30 years. It’s been amazing to watch. I’m happy to see Alan Colmes hasn’t succumbed.

There is blood on her hands, just as there is blood on the hands of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and al-Qaeda. Indeed, by her slanderous accusations against Israel, Helen Thomas dips her hands in the blood of Bobby Kennedy and proclaims to the world that RFK was wrong to support Israel, and that Bobby’s killer was right.

This is not a debate about U.S. foreign policy or about the terms of peace between Israel and Palestine.

We can debate such things civilly and amicably. But there can be no room in that debate for those like Helen Thomas who foment anti-Semitic paranoia by making accusations of mala fides against Israel’s allies, claiming that anyone who defends Israel is “owned” by shadowy Zionist conspirators.

Israel’s Demographic problems and biblical solution

Via Josh Trevino (to whom I still owe a drink) we have this story out of Israel:

“If people ask when Jews will lose their majority, then it’s already happened,” DellaPergola said. “If one combines the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip and West Bank, includes foreign workers and refugees, whose numbers have grown rapidly in recent years, and omits Israelis who made aliya under the Law of Return but are not recognized as Jews by the Interior Ministry, then Jews are slightly less than 50% of the population.”

The finding is potentially significant in the context of efforts to reach an accommodation with the Palestinians.

As Mark Steyn has said many times demographics are destiny so if Israel doesn’t do something their state will disappear through sheer numbers. Lucky for the children of Israel instructions have already been given to solve that solution by their founder:

God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them: “Be Fertile and multiply and fill the earth” Gen 9:1

“Be fertile , then and multiply ; abound on the earth and subdue it,” Gen 9:7

Personally I don’t think Israel is going to find a better source of advice do you?  I personally think all of western civilization should follow it.

 

 

Friends of the IDF event in Massachusetts Monday

Marty Lamb gave me the heads up that the Friends of the IDF have an event here in Massachusetts Monday night.

John Bolton will be the guest speaker and there are still tables available.

It will be a great night I have a commitment so I won’t be there, (I’ll be a guest on Barbara’s show Hair On Fire 1100AM KFNX that day) but if you are free and want to hear a great man and support a great cause, then click the link.
