Nancy (sgt schultz) Pelosi

It has been very interesting watching Mrs. Pelosi plead ignorance then have to back off:

Unlike the pope the other people at the briefings aren’t interested in saving her soul. The Schultz routine is not going to satisfy the monster left that she supported and enabled for all these years.

My gut says the president uses this as a chip, sort of like the AIG bonus stuff. You might remember once the vote took place it died. The president can bring this up at any time and crash and burn this congress. President Obama who as everyone of the left seems to have ignored was only briefly in congress and didn’t have those briefings.

Congressional democrats, particularly leaders, will in my opinion do ANYTHING to avoid this trap.

Mac Zombie? Count me among the unsurprised

I really shouldn’t be smiling but I’ve been waiting for something like this:

Malware hunters at Symantec have discovered a direct link between a malicious file embedded in pirated copies of Apple’s iWork 09 software and what appears to be the first Mac OS X botnet launching denial-of-service attacks.

Writing in the current issue of Virus Bulletin (subscription required), researchers Mario Ballano Barcena and Alfredo Pesoli found two malware variants — OSX.Iservice and OSX.Iservice.B — using different techniques to obtain the user’s password and take control of the infected Mac machine.

Quite a few of the commentators are actually full of glee rather than my knowing smile but one commentator makes the same point that PC users should know as well:

While it’s notable to discover a zombie Mac infection, keep in mind that this wasn’t an OS exlpoit. It was an install virus like the ones you used to see back in 1990. People who download and install pirate software should expect their computers to be compromised by a virus.

The commentator is exactly right. Risky behavior is the root of a lot of trouble that people have with PC’s and those who go to a Mac and think they will be safe forever will have another think coming.

Via Glenn.

Bits of this have been promoted from this earlier post, but MSNBC has to be heard to be believed this Easter Afternoon:

3:24 p.m. Unbelievable MSNBC is complaining that now the pirates will become more violent. They are bringing up Black Hawk Down, does anyone remember that casualty wise we killed and wounded the enemy more than 15 to 1. The anchor woman calls it great news but the reporter on the phone is all doom and gloom, what if we hurt people they will get angry.

Jim Miklaszewski followed that up describing the captain as jumping off the boat to as trying to “save his own skin”. The tone was to my ears distinctly derogatory. Can someone explain to me why trying to save his skin is a bad thing here?

They followed up with the anchor stressing that shooting the pirates was only done as a last resort. At 4:07 pm. The Anchor described the pirate in custody as being “taken hostage”. According to the press conference the pirate in custody (or the “hostage” as MSNBC puts it) might have surrendered but its unclear from the conference if the pirate surrendered or no.

In addition we heard about root causes and all the trouble that will happen if we defend our ships, the entire attitude is very amazing to me. I don’t know if these people actually belief this or if they are trying to play to their niche audience of talk left readers.

Update: 4:50 p.m. The pirates really don’t want to kill people says the anchor. They fear more violence. Their terror experts now is afraid that the pirates will now become violent.

MSNBC breaks away for Meet the press, interesting to see what they said before all this went down. Apparently this is a “law enforcement issue” I always thought that piracy was a military issue.

Can’t Obama play this game?

Leave it to president Obama to time the signing of a waver that has been regularly signed for three Lustrums:

President Obama signed a waiver Thursday that will allow the Palestinian Liberation Organization to retain its office in Washington D.C.

(15 years if you never saw Rooster Cogburn) for the moment when it can cause maximum embarrassment or offense:

The waiver was released at about the same time that Obama was having a Passover Seder at the White House with friends and members of his staff.

Then again maybe the point wasn’t so much to insult Jews as it was for the Arabs to see the Jews insulted.

Remind me again what was the percentage of Jews who voted for this president? 75%? You get what you pay for. What is that quote that Moses said about choices?

Or maybe it is just another Obamateurism

Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity.
