Katherine McClintock: [after walking out of her bedroom to find G.W. and Mrs. Warren at the bottom of the stairs] What’s going on here?
George Washington McLintock: [Intoxicated, with Mrs. Warren sitting on his lap] Now Katherine, are you going to believe what you see, or what I tell you?

McLintock! 1963

For all of those people without a life who intend to watch the CNN Global warming special I’d like to make an important point that you likely have not considered. It’s a point I’ve made before but as both Tip O’Neill and St. John knew, good arguments need to be repeated often to people.

As I write this post at 10 AM on Tuesday here via a Drudge link, is the cone of Hurricane Dorian:

You will note that there both an exact location, an exact speed and and an exact direction the storm is moving at the moment along with a projected path of the storm in that image.

Now here are the current computer models of the projected patch of the hurricane over the next few days.

Notice the various paths shown by the models and that even though they are using the most modern equipment out there and well funded the various projected paths over the next four days are quite different some of them hundreds of miles apart.

And also note that all of these models have the advantage of having exact data, that is each of these models have identical factual data on.

  1. When the storm first developed
  2. Where the storm first developed
  3. The previous path of the storm
  4. The strength of the storm on that path
  5. The speed of the storm during that path
  6. The previous speed of the storm
  7. The current location of the storm
  8. The current speed of the storm
  9. The current direction of the storm

So with this all this exact data these models can’t agree on where this storm is going to be, how strong it will be and how fast it will get there over the course of five days…

…and yet we have our elites asking us to change our entire way of life based on computer models of meteorological events not days out but decades out and we have people teaching our young to be so panicked about their continued existence existed based on these models that they don’t believe they will be alive to middle age.

You’d have to be a real fool to believe this stuff, I say go ahead and buy that mansion on the coast like Obama did. It’s not going to be underwater any more than his is.

Update:  It’s 2:22 AM and I’m about to hit the sack but before I do I’d like you to compare the track from above to this updated track.

In the space of under one day, 19 hours to be precise the projected path is different and the width of the cone is different as well.

Keep that in mind the next time one of these idiots tells you that if you fly the planet is doomed.

The best thing about Wishing Someone Dead is you are Guaranteed that Eventually Your wish will come True

Every now and again I re-watch the election 2016 coverage from all the various networks, including the Canadian and British Networks.  It is very instructive.

Once they reached the stage of the night when they realized that Trump was going to win unless the Democrat fraud machine (which thought it had the night off because of the expected blowout) could manufacture enough votes to win in the states they hadn’t called yet (why do you think so many remained uncalled for so long?) every single network started pushing the Dow Futures.

Go to any channel, any network and you had liberals telling everyone that the election of Donald Trump was likely going to be an economic catastrophe and that the drop of the futures was just the beginning. In the New York Times the paper of record for the left Paul Krugman started his piece thus:

It really does now look like President Donald J. Trump, and markets are plunging. When might we expect them to recover?

Frankly, I find it hard to care much, even though this is my specialty. The disaster for America and the world has so many aspects that the economic ramifications are way down my list of things to fear.

Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.

Stock Market Close Nov 8th 2016: 18,332.74 Stock Market close Aug 20th 2019: 25962.44 That’s a gain of over 41%. Or to put it another way , if the Stock market dropped 1500 points between now and Nov 6th 2019 that would mean that the Down Jones still managed a 10% gain every year since the Day Donald Trump was elected.

In fact he didn’t just stop at the Stock Market here is his close

So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight. I suppose we could get lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible thing has just happened.

Well in fairness to Mr. Krugman as the New York Post reports he wasn’t alone in this

Well it’s almost three years later, and another election is coming up and the same media that was heartbroken over President Trump’s win is out to beat him this time, so what is the mantra, RecessionRecession, Recession! In fact these guys aren’t just predicting it they’re wishing for it.

Now let’s face it wishing for a recession is like wishing for someone to die, or wishing for Tom Brady to no longer be the Patriots QB, sooner or later it will come.

But if you’re going to start worrying about a recession based on these same guys who were predicting economic doom in 2-16 I’m sorry I’m not going to jump on that bandwagon and if you feel tempted to do the same just rewatch this video of the smartest people in the world predicting the future three years ago.

So you’ll forgive me if I don’t jump on the pessimism bandwagon and suggest you refrain from doing the same, and if you need to be reminded why you shouldn’t watch this

Apparently the shooter belongs to more than just one protected group:

Maurice Hill, the criminal who wounded six police officers in a shootout in Philadelphia and was arrested after a seven-hour standoff, attended a radical mosque.
The mosque, called Masjid Ahlil Hadith Wal Athar, is known for preaching the Islamist ideology promoted by Saudi Arabia referred to as “Wahhabism.”
Clarion Intelligence Network has been aware through its sources that the area where the shootings took place is known for trafficking in guns, drugs and counterfeit items. This criminal market has a strong Islamist element that includes extremist gangs.

No wonder the MSM is running away from this.

As you might have heard Joe Biden, true to form, made a rather stupid gaffe on the campaign trail.

Now it’s not unusual for an old man born in a different era, even if they are not named Joe Biden, to say something impolitic in public but for the leading presidential candidate of a national party to so do, and do so on video meaning it can be easily disseminated, that type of story is one that would be normally considered “newsworthy”, particularly in an era of “trigger warnings” and in fairness there has been some coverage.

Time magazine gave it a whole five paragraphs the strongest being:

Biden has been criticized for his tendency to say awkward, sometimes surprising, things. When his future boss, Barack Obama, was running for president, Biden once remarked that Obama was “clean” and “articulate,” a remark that raised eyebrows.

Ooh Burn!

The Washington Post’s piece was a bit longer. Here are the key bits:

She [Biden’s deputy campaign manager] also fired back at the Trump campaign for having promoted the video.

“As we approach the two year anniversary of Trump calling neo-Nazis and Klansmen ‘very fine people,’ Donald Trump is desperate to change the subject from his atrocious record of using racism to divide this country,” Bedingfield said, referencing Trump’s comments following the deadly confrontation in Charlottesville in 2017 between self-proclaimed white nationalists and protesters.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, another Democratic White House hopeful, also sought to draw attention to Biden’s comments — as well as his campaign’s response.

“To quickly dismiss @JoeBiden’s words as a mere ‘slip of the tongue’ is as concerning as what he said,” de Blasio said on Twitter. “We need to have a real conversation about the racism and sexism behind ‘electability.’ ”

So they hit Biden with a line from one of the weakest candidates in the Democrat field and not only allow Biden’s spokes person to spin his gaffe away but one again spread a false meme about Trump.

Talking Points Memo included this tweet from the today show:

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

“Raised Eyebrows” wow that’s tough. How about the article itself:

While the remarks were seemingly a slip of the tongue, Biden’s been criticized for his record on race in recent weeks, particularly his past views on busing as a means of desegregation and his remarks about working with segregationist lawmakers in the past. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) called out Biden during the first round of Democratic presidential debates, in an exchange that went viral and boosted Harris’ polling numbers significantly.

and USA today via Yahoo:

Speaking about his education plan, which would triple federal investment in lower-income school districts, Biden said the country should challenge students and increase the number of advanced placement programs in those schools.

“We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids,” Biden said, before adding: “Wealthy kids. Black kids. Asian kids. No, I really mean it. But think how we think about it.”

“They can do anything anybody else can do, given a shot,” Biden added.

It’s as he never said a thing.

finally there is the daily beast, also via yahoo which not only included a quote from the Trump campaign:

President Trump’s re-election campaign was quick to seize on the slip-up and share a video of the remarks. “Yikes… have fun mitigating that one,” Andrew Clark, rapid response director for the Trump campaign, wrote on Twitter.

but actually noticed the irony involved

Biden, who has dubbed himself a “gaffe machine” for his well-documented history with verbal blunders and embarrassing slip-ups, has yet to comment on his remarks, which came just hours after he said President Trump “encourages white supremacists.”

Mind you this is the roughest coverage that anyone in the MSM has given Biden on this story. It’s as if they had bought themselves a RonCo Gaffe-scratcher guaranteed to remove Gaffe’s or your money back!

All of this coverage is designed to make this a one day story that doesn’t even make it below the fold which objectively it would be and should stay as long as nobody of consequence in the Democrat field touches it.

In a time when news media was interested in reporting news that would be perfectly fine, but re-read that coverage again and ask yourself this question.

If the speaker at that Iowa event was Donald Trump or even Mitt Romney instead of Joe Biden how would that story have played in those stories.

They would have been full of statement from prominent Democrats deploying them and calling him to step down, there would be journalists asking every republican in congress to comment on the statements. Panels on the cable news networks would be discussing it daily and till election day it would be a theme of the coverage.

And if you don’t believe me do a search of the phrase “Binders of women”

Now it only remains to be seen if President Trump decides to have fun with it the next time the Democrat / Media falsely quote him on Chancellorsville.
