I’m Old Enough to Remember When the Left Insisted “All Lives Matter” is a Racist Dog Whistle!

For the last four years I’ve been reliably told by the left that anyone who insisted that or Tweeted out “All Lives Matter” was a racist, a bigot and a person who hated blacks.

Now while that’s of course nonsense since all men are created in the image of God and thus their lives matter, my opinion on this subject was ignored and the “new rules” were put in place by people of the left like the folks at Vox:

The racist roots of the dog whistle

In fact do a search for the phrase: “All lives matter is a racist dog whistle” and you will find pages of results of our friends on the left declaring that under their rules (not mine) the phrase “all lives matter” is a racist dog whistle and a reliable sign that the person who utters it is beyond the pale.

Well lo and behold apparently now that Israel is about to invade Gaza to destroy the babykillers of Hamas guess what phrase is acceptable again:

Why I’m shocked SHOCKED that Congresswoman Talib would DARE to suggest that “all lives matter” after all the best and the brightest of the elites have told us for almost half a decade now that any person who dares utter this phrase must be a horrible racist who should be shunned and disreguarded.

Now of course I don’t believe that myself but these aren’t my rules, these are the rules that the left in media, academia and Politics have insisted on so how can it be that Talib can say this without being denounced.

Why anyone might suspect that they don’t actually believe in these new rules that they’ve prorogated and only apply them when there is a political advantage and toss them aside as soon as any ally, like say Mass murderers who slaughter helpless women and children and behead babies allies, might be held responsible for their actions.

I look forward to reading the numerous columns in the left media denouncing Congresswoman Talib as a racist.

I’m sure they’ll be ready to print the day after Iran declares that Israel has a right to exist and defend itself from terrorist attacks.

Unexpectedly of course.

The Scariest Things I’ve read in weeks…

…was at the conclusion of this post on how the oppression of the left is a sign of weakness and tottering.

Reynolds quotes the piece of substack and then says the following:

I agree that the system is weak and tottering. I worry that what replaces it will not be an improvement, which history indicates is a real possibility.

Any student of history knows that it’s very rare that for a system to be replaced by what is expected and that real possibility is likely a lot worse than anyone is expecting.

A close 2nd is this from Kurt Schlichter about the new rules concerning locking up political opponents:

There are a lot of state attorney generals and district attorneys out there in red states, and they are going through their statute books. Conservatives, who tend to be doomers, are fretting because none of these red officials have acted yet. But they will act, all in good time. First, slow, then all at once. That is inevitable. That is the logic of this scenario. You see, all the incentives are to prosecute Democrats in red enclaves for things Democrats did far away. The first red AG or DA who does it is going to be a superstar. And then all the others are going to have to follow along lest they be left behind.

The new rules are going to suck. Those are the fruits of a post-Christian society

Chris Cuomo and the Left Suddenly Don’t like the New Rules (and what’s with the #fredo stuff?)

I’m completely confused.

When leftists were harassing people like Sarah Huckabee Sanders instead of universal condemnation there were huge debates on TV justifying these actions.

People well known to the public, people in media, in entertainment and who hold office were out there suggesting that she had it coming and that such people were to be driven out of the public square.

Now apparently these same rules that the folks on the left have been proudly advancing are being used on Chris Cuomo and suddenly people are shocked SHOCKED that such a thing could happen when a man is out with his wife and daughter.

As Kurt Schlichter said apparently the left doesn’t like the new rules they’ve propagated, frankly neither do I but I’m a Jacksonian so until these rules are no longer applied to folks on the right, folks on the left should not expect to eat a meal in public in peace.

As I said, I think these rules suck, I further think that such a person bugging a man out with his wife and kids is an ass and a disgrace and that if Cuomo or any person in such a situation felt that his family was in physical danger, he or she would be justified to use force, even deadly force to protect them.

But if a guy’s just being an ass, then as long as these new rules are in effect then Cuomo and anyone else on the left needs to be willing to take it and has no business complaining about them.

Of course if they are willing to drop these new rules and go back to the idea that people should act with civility, even to their political foes, and call off their thugs then I’ll happily agree to suggest the same.

Closing thought, I understand that Chris Cuomo played the race card equating “Fredo” as a racial slur against Italians equal to the the use of “nigger” as a racial slur against blacks (I don’t play these “N-word” games). I find the comparison incredibly offensive on two levels.

Firstly there is a long history of dehumanization, murder and oppression associated with the word in question when directed toward not just American blacks but black folk worldwide.  To equate hundreds of years of Murder and oppression associated with this phrase with being tagged with the name of a character in a movie from the 70’s by some ass in a restaurant is so asinine so tone deaf and frankly so beyond the pale that I can hardly believe any sane person would attempt to make such a comparison and am shocked that the black community is not up in arms over it.

Secondly and personally offensive to me, is Cuomo is an Italian American, so am I.  I’ve spent all my life around Italian Americans and I have never in my entire life seen any Italian so weak as to whine at being called a name.  Since when does any Italian give a damn what any non-Italian thinks of him?  Since when do we wilt and cry “racism”?  I’ve never seen any Italian I know be so craven. but in fairness most of the Italians I know are Sicilians and we don’t bend to anyone except God.

What a disgrace to the Italian race!
