MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell on Sarah Palin to a 17 year old Palin supporter:

“Did you know that Sarah Palin supported the bailout?…So, Sarah Palin was for the bailout…She’s against the stimulus, but during the campaign, she was for the bailout, as was John McCain.”

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski this morning on Morning Joe concerning Joe Biden doing the network circuit supporting the president’s Afghanistan decision that he personally opposes:

“That is the job of a Vice President”

How ’bout that. The duties of a VP have changed in under two weeks!

A: and no it’s not because they are preparing the ground for 2010, it is because Hoffman is the PALIN candidate.

Once Palin endorsed Hoffman the race changed, it changed what republicans did and what democrats did. Once the election turned out poorly for us Suddenly it was THE race of the night as far as the left was concerned.

As long as Hoffman is connected to Palin they will attack him as “Far Right“. So much easier to go against a 3rd party candidate on the Canadian border than it is to risk angering hundreds of thousands of readers who may or may not be buying your paper. Particularly if you are a republican.

A: They don’t show the clip, but talk about it in the abstract.

I wonder why they don’t show it on Morning Joe? Likely because it is the most bi-partisan moment on the entire network. Later in the day they are talking to their niche market and they wouldn’t mind burning Sarah Palin at the stake.

If they really thought O’Donnell was so impressive they’d try to get the blogger she went after on TV or at least comment on what she wrote:

In one day I met a role model, and met the liberal media and their crafty schemes. I fell prey to liberal bias, but I’d like to think I did an okay job. We always want do-overs, and I can assure you if I had a do-over with Miss O’Donnell you’d see a much more prepared (well rested) and ready to go at it side of this 17 year old. But unlike Norah I didnt have my note cards with me. I was forced to think on the spot and answer a gotcha question. Her goal was clear, make this teenager look like an uneducated Palin supporting buffoon. To liberals, and the 5 people who watch MSNBC she succeeded. To conservatives, she was the only buffoon during that interview.

Ah Harold Ford: I guess you aren’t above playing “Are you smarter with your note cards than a 17 year old without hers”

And note how he mentioned it as a sideline saying it was “a reporter” not mentioning that it was an MSNBC “Star”. How subtle can you get?

No word on how they will do in their own weight class.

A: Morning Joe is doing their best to ignore and dismiss it and pass it by.

I don’t know how much of it is an act but it’s funny.

Oh and they have Bill Press on now talking about how Obama owns any room he walks into and nobody does it like that.

He has never been in a room with Sarah Palin

Update: They made it up in the 8 a.m. hour but Robert Stacy has something to say on the subject of course:

Whether or not Sarah Palin is the last, best hope of the GOP, she is inarguably the worst nightmare of crusading liberal journalists. Not since Oliver North showed up for a key congressional hearing in his Marine Corps uniform has the Washington press corps been so spectacularly vexed at its inability to destroy an intended victim. Her mere survival makes her Evil with a capital “E.” The only way Republicans can save Palin from this incessant maelstrom of media hatred is to nominate a Limbaugh-Coulter ticket in 2012.

The result of this constant Palin-bashing is exactly the opposite of what the bashers intend. Possessing an amazing ability to enrage liberals, she causes them to expose their own nuttiness, as when Andrew Sullivan — Patient Zero of the Palin Derangement Syndrome media pandemic — accused her of being “obsessed” with him.

I have one objection to all of this. 2012, 2012, 2012. Sarah Palin is a year younger than me. In 2024 I’ll be 60 years old and Sarah Palin will be a year younger. She doesn’t have to run in 2012 she will be around for decades.
