…have no fear, he has the text and video embedded here.

My own interview of him will be going up as the field guide posts continue. This young man is very impressive and I’ll tell you something. As the father of two Catholic sons I’d like to shake his father’s hand and say “Well done”!

…doesn’t get the tea party movement.

The strength of the movement isn’t a national organization fund-raising, it is hundreds upon hundreds of local tea party groups running shoestring budgets.

Maybe they should consider embedding a reporter into a small local tea party group or two and just watch how it works. Maybe they would learn something.

Captain Ed gets it:

Part of the Tea Party’s charm has been its eschewing of traditional political forms, including fundraising. The “suspicion” that some cast on elements within the movement is directed towards those who may have intentions of co-opting the grassroots for traditional party power. Its bootstrap quality attracts people to the rallies even if it does leave question about the movement’s ability to survive.

Besides, there is a basic conundrum in this question. While there have been many motivations and provocations that have pushed the movement’s growth, the poor economy and the top-down policies of Democrats that have created stagnation are the most powerful. That leaves people with not much discretionary cash to donate, making it ironically a bad time to launch a massive new political organization based on grassroots fundraising.

The bottom up organization is not a bug, it’s a feature.

memeorandum thread here

…about media coverage.

Let’s ask every democratic candidate what they think of Angle’s statement, if they mock it or critique her for it then in the spirit of that question we should immediately follow up with the toughest possible questions on the most uncomfortable topics that said candidate doesn’t want to answer. When the candidate or their press and campaign people duck or give “No Comment” they should be pressed, after all they think Angle is foolish for trying to get favorable coverage then they should be willing to answer the tough questions.

The Truth is every candidate wants favorable coverage, every candidate tries to answer what they want and duck what they don’t. Angle being a normal person said aloud what every person knows.

What a concept, a candidate actually saying the truth. No wonder the left is outraged!

Perhaps we should ask every democrat their position on the Ground Zero Mosque (or as Rush put it, the Islamic Victory Lap). Right now their reaction to said question is duck and cover.

…a lot more than Prof Bainbridge’s or Political Byline. Why because she doesn’t pretend that Palin hurts the conservative movement:

Like Palin, Reagan was not thought to be a policy heavyweight, and, like her, he was often ridiculed by the punditocracy. And, like Reagan, Palin has come to prominence in a time of national crisis, a state of affairs in which appeals to the collective unconscious are much more powerful — and dangerous — than in normal times.

Well like Reagan Palin is certainly dangerous to liberals like Arianna, she concludes thus:

So isn’t it wise to get a handle on Palin’s true appeal sooner rather than later? Because, to quote that other archetypal ursine ad: “Some people say the bear is tame. Others say it’s vicious and dangerous. Since no one can really be sure who’s right, isn’t it smart to be as strong as the bear?”

If liberals get it through their head to actually do that? It would take a lot of self control that I don’t think they have, but why take chances?

No Memeorandum thread of this yet. But Hotair is all over it.
