…I wonder what he will say about these Islamic clerics:

Sheik Yuusuf Abuu Hamza. an official from the city’s Islamist administration confirmed the arrest of world cup fans, accusing them of being guilty against Islam. “They have made a big mistake; they didn’t obey the orders not to watch the un-Islamic event of football so they will face punishment,” the militant official said.

But they can’t be racist, they’re not American. Not to mention the fact that they are Islamic and I’m sure that Mr. Zirin knows the penalty for insulting Islam. Hint it’s not removing PayPal privileges.

Via Tim Blair who Zirin will have no problem calling a racist for this great snark:

They’re a notably cruel bunch. Maybe they’ll make them watch it again.

All kidding aside at Blair’s link there is even worse on the subject.

Speaking of Blair I wonder if they are playing under Canadian rules?

It’s the second quarter and the bench has been put in again (this time with Pierce instead of Ray Allen) and AGAIN the lead has grown to eight.

This is absolutely amazing. If this keeps up then the Lakers are in deep DEEP trouble.

Update: The starters are back in the game and the lead is down to two.

I have never seen a bench play so well. This team has turned around the game in the 4th with 1 starter and 4 bench players.

Tony Allen, Nate Robinson, Wallace and Big Baby are just playing incredible.

We may win this game/series we may not, but it won’t be the fault of this bench and if we do win these guys deserve the credit.

LA seems to have no solution to this defense.

Update: I wrote the above midway through the 4th. Magic Johnson said pretty much the same thing in the post game on Sportscenter.

On the heels of my concerns about being allowed back to Massachusetts over my sedition of disagreeing with this president, a vote for a more longterm exile comes from an unexpected source for a different reason:

Since you brought up baseball stuff, since you left the Red Sox have put a little winning streak together. Not to mention that Dice-K was so happy that you were leaving he pitched a near no-hitter on Saturday.

Why not stay a little longer in SC, or perhaps someone will pay to have to travel to another location.

Stay away from Massachusetts! the Red Sox Nation needs your help!

Apparently the Sox have not lost a game since the day I left and did it again

The Boston Red Sox’s recent purple patch continued as they downed the American League East leaders the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0.

David Ortiz was inspirational with a two-run double while Jon Lester was frugal, allowing one hit in six innings as the Red Sox won their seventh from the last eight.

Could the removal of all those fedoras really be making the difference for the old Town team? Well if they beat Tampa tonight I’ll wager Red Sox nation will do all they can to keep me away from my plane on Saturday.
