There it is again the plan to ‘steer away from social issues’.
Here’s what the tea parties need to do. GET ON THE SAME PAGE! If you are going to be a national organization and remain relevant nationally during the elections, and send true tea party candisates to Washington, you really need to be an organization that has similar views across the country.
I was at a tea party meeting last March. I wrote about this then. The main speaker basically said lets get all these groups together and protest. don’t talk about social issues because then people will see that we aren’t truly as organized as we claim to be.
You are wrong there, let me point out something.
There are a lot of social conservatives in the Tea Party, we don’t stop being social conservative because we support the tea party any more than I stop being a Doctor Who fan if I watch Star Trek or Harry Potter.
The Tea Party which came out of Porkbusters was formed with one purpose, to control out of control spending and keep constitutional principles. An organization that focuses on its primary goals is more likely to succeed.
Third why should the Tea party NOT work with people we as individuals might disagree with on social issue but agree with on fiscal ones. A conservative lesbian and I disagree on Gay Marriage but that doesn’t make us any less in agreement on fiscal responsibility.
