Pulp Fiction 1994
While I can not speak for the administration as I am not a part of it as an American who
- Thinks that Ukraine has a proper Casus Belli vs Russia
- Belives Russia should not have invaded
- Believes Russia’s goal was to conquer the entire state and not just protect ethnic Russians
- Believes it’s up to Ukraine to decide if it wants to keep fighting
- Believes it’s up to Ukraine to decide if it wants to make deals with the US or not
Let me say the following:
I have absolutely no problem if you wish to provide Billions of Pounds/Dollars/Euros to Ukraine to support their war to eject Russia from Ukrainian territory.
I have no problem if you wish to provide thousands or tend of thousands of troops to fight for Ukraine against Russia.
Feel free to do both or either if you wish and let me wish you and Ukraine the best of luck in this endeavor.

Agree wholeheartedly, with exception to No. 3. I think it was Putin’s “plan” (or perhaps “hope” is more accurate) that by taking the ethnic Russian portion of eastern Ukraine, and also threatening Kiev, the rest of the country would simply fall apart and a new government, one less bellicose and pro-West, would be installed in some sort of a coup. He miscalculated on the willingness of Western elites to fight to the last drop of Ukrainian blood. But Clausewitz was correct; Putin’s battle plan fell apart upon contact with the enemy. But he adapted and so at this point none of the pre-war planning has any relevance. (I almost used Hillary’s famous quote.) Like a man whose boat sprang a leak, the goal is now to keep from drowning, not try to find the source of the leak. Trump knows this, but Zelensky came here looking for more lifeboats. He better come to grips with the new reality.
MINSK Agreement … if not broken by Ukraine … no invasion…
