I think this story out of Hong Kong is bigger than people realize:

A business executive who gave her surname So admitted that Elizabeth II’s death had made her nostalgic and that she felt “less of a connection” with China’s Communist Party leaders in Beijing. “I only realised how good it was after I lost it,” she said, referring to the city since its handover.

An 80-year-old retiree, who gave his surname Poon, was holding a bunch of red lilies and spoke bluntly. “In the past we had human rights, equality before the law, and protections in many aspects,” he said. “But now, I would not comment on the present, I dare not.”

Nothing cures people of a love of communism like having to live under it and nothing makes people appreciate the benefits of living under what once was the British Empire then the loss of the rights that British common law brought.

Alas Pete Rose was apparently several tables away, if Bobby Tolan hadn’t caught up to that ball Rose drove over his head with the tying and go ahead runs on deck it might have been him signing my victory page, but then again I wasn’t there so it’s unlikely the Mets would have wanted to have a loss autographed.

Since our friends on the left claim to be shocked at the behavior of actual Christians taking people at their word that they love and welcome illegal immigrants and refugees let ask a Christian related riddle:

What do (most) of the welcoming Woke liberals of Martha's Vineyard have in common with Pontius Pilate former Roman Governor of Judea?

The folks in Martha’s Vineyard are completely on board with the idea of being a Sanctuary for Illegal immigrants and welcoming such people like the good woke liberals they are. At least the 24 hours takes for the news cycle to report how virtuous they are…

Expand Yad Vashem To Include a “Illegal Immigrants Flown to Martha’s Vineyard” Section

There is an old saying that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

So you would think a person who studies history, writes about history and makes historical documentaries (The Civil War is likely the greatest piece of work of it’s type although it couldn’t be made today as it does not rewrite history at the left’s pleasure) might not be too quick to play the “Holocaust” card on flying illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

You’d think wrong:

Seriously? You’ve just made a documentary on the US’ response to the Holocaust and you compare the murder six million and the attempt to erase an ancient people from history with flying illegals to the one of the wealthiest parts of a sanctuary state?

I mean idiocy from Steve Schmidt, Elizabeth Warren or Gavin Newsom or Soledad O’Brien or Molly Jong Fast, and Chris Hayes I expect but Burns should know better and should be in a position where he doesn’t need the fundraising to carry on.

One might expect one to be embarrassed by this but apparently being on the left means being incapable of such things
