If you were wondering why the Media was all in on trying to stop this speech from happening before it happened you weren’t wondering when it was done.

There were a lot of people interested in what he would say given all that is going on. The MSM/Democrat left no longer owns the floor and without that exclusive platform for a message they can’t stand up.

The President put the Democrat left neatly in a trap yesterday firmly linking them to the violence and arson and solidly linking himself and the GOP with law and order, bluntly stating that to elect Democrats is to export this mob violence to the rest of the country. This is a nightmare for every Democrat in congress who is not on a deep blue district who will now have to choose between the radical left or the swing voters who like police and on’t like riots.

It’s particularly bad news for Governor Jay Inslee in that the President bluntly stated that he’s ready to go in and get Seattle back as soon as he asks for help. Now any move against CHOP, CHAZ, Clueless in Seattle etc is specifically a Trump move, even if the Governor or Mayor does it without federal help and every day things continue as they are is on them and given the murders now taking place there it’s going to get worse.

The media went all in on the empty seat meme online (I knew where Drudge was going to be before I looked which was the 1st time I bothered to visit for months) and it might have been effective if it wasn’t for two things.

1. You had violent leftists that not only blocked entrances but that were explicitly calling for violence against the attendees. The President specifically referred to them during the speech. That not only played up his law and order (us) vs the Democrats and lawlessness (them) theme but gave a solid excuse for every empty seat in the upper deck.
2. You had this image from a recent Joe Biden event as contrast.

Tulsa is not a giant population center yet Donald Trump, despite a bunch of legal moves to stop the event , a pandemic where travel and lodging are iffy , and with and a bunch of violent leftist that needed the National guard to hold them back, drew thousands. Joe Biden wasn’t able to outdraw the line at my local DQ.

The President addressed the CCP/Covid/Wuhan Virus yesterday and solidified a point a made at the start of all this insanity (see my Brer Trump post from March) . By predicting millions dead the media set a bar that was easy for the President to get under. He will be taking credit or the saving of millions of lives at every speech he makes and if challenged can easily play a montage of all those dire predictions made at the start.

He also solidly blamed China for the virus (and even used the Kung-Flu line which will get the left in an uproar) which the left has all but forbidden. Americans know that China is to blame for this and by making the point in public forces the left to counter against all common sense, or to concede the point which they just can’t bring themselves to do.

I didn’t like the 1A implications of the proposed law against burning the US flag (although given that a person has already been jailed for burning a rainbow flag it would be justice) but politically it was smart in the same way that hitting the NFL was smart and highlighting the fact that the violence is all over Democrat cities. It places swing state Democrats in general and Joe Biden in particular an awkward position in states they will need to win.

Finally the cluelessness of the media was illustrated by their reaction to the West Point Story which he took a fair amount of time to tell and illustrate. This is how a regular person tells a story and people could relate to it.

Luntz, after getting burned on election night 2016 gets it, others, not so much.

Only the MSM could watch that speech and come to that conclusion, i’d say I was surprised but since they have misread this president since the day he came down that escalator, I’m not.

He’s going to make their life hell for the next 5 months and then for the next four years. I can’t wait.
