I like Don Surber, he is one of the best writers on the net and his substack site is one of the first places I go to when I wake up in the morning or get back from Mass if I wake early enough to go and I recommend you read him every day too, but I think that his statement that we have no choice but Trump in order to fight the false prosecutions against him is not only incorrect but the wrong way of looking at things.
Basically his argument is we have to embrace Trump because of the Democrat attacks, I reject this because it’s the same argument that took place when Rushtie was attacked, you HAVE to buy the book because he was attacked by terrorists or you don’t support him.
I reject that argument because it’s still subsuming my decision making to someone else rather than deciding for myself. Furthermore I reject throwing away folks like Kurt Schlichter because you don’t win by shrinking the voter pool.
There are many good arguments for Trump, primarily his record and there are arguments against him, his sticking with Facui and others and electability due to irrational Trump hatred. It doesn’t matter if the irrational hatred is unfounded or wrong, it exists and has to be considered.
I have no problem with him as the nominee but my primary concern and the primary concern of all those who see the political prosecutions of Trump for what they are should be one thing: WINNING!
If we win we have a shot at stopping this, if we don’t then we won’t.
Some say we owe Trump the presidency because the last one was stolen from him, which it was. I say we owe it to ourselves to defeat the Democrats so that this doesn’t happen again and if Trump is the best vehicle to do so fine, but if we have a candidate who is better choice what happened in 2020 should not prevent anyone from voting for him.
We need to look at this election the way Lincoln looked at emancipation and let me close by paraphrasing him on the subject of this election
My purpose is to defeat the Democrat agenda by electing a republican to the white house in 2024 and it is not to re-elect and avenge or defeat and humiliate President Donald J Trump.
If I can defeat the Democrat Agenda by embracing and nominating Donald Trump as the GOP candidate in 2024 I will do it.
If I can defeat the Democrat Agenda by rejecting Donald Trump and nominating someone as the GOP candidate else I will do it.
and if I can defeat the Democrat Agenda by having a long primary with a drag out fight between Trump and DeSantis or another candidate and then standing by the winner who survives the test for the nomination whoever he or she is I will do that too.
That is how this election should be looked at by any person who wants the Democrats stopped, any conservative who decides to sit out the election if Trump is the nominee or decides to sit out the election if Trump is NOT the nominee is going to end up with the Democrat agenda that they rightly deserve and will have the added pleasure of knowing that they inflicted it upon themselves.
Vinny Forlano: He won’t talk. Stone is a good kid. Stand-up guy, just like his old man. That’s the way I see it.
Vincent Borelli:I agree. He’s solid. A fuckin’ Marine.
Americo Capelli: He’s okay. He always was. Remo, what do you think?
Remo Gaggi: Look… why take a chance? At least, that’s the way I feel about it

Back in 2020 I asked this question concerning stealing the election rather than letting the election cycle (which would mean they would be free of Trump in just a year) take its course:
Why would the political bosses take the rather loud risk to steal this election and expose their operations to national scrutiny when history shows that by 2024 or 2028 they would have power back by without having to show their hand and risk the entire operation that has kept them in clover for decades?
I followed up with ten reasons why they might have decided to go all in. Of those ten reasons reasons 2 & 3 were the big ones.
Investigations A 2nd Trump term meant that actual investigations of the tactics used against him would take place and moreover take place in an environment where rulings on these things are likely to be made by judges appointed by President Trump. Many of these are a direct threat to very comfortable and connected people
The Potential Costs of Their Failed Attempt to Steal It Unlike election 2016 where Donald Trump came out of nowhere and a lot of the standard vote fraud machinery was not put in place (why risk federal crimes on what they thought would be a blowout election?) The machines in Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Detroit and Nevada where already in place and operating. They thought they had it in the bag when the turnout & vote totals for President Trump proved to be so high as to overcome the fraud they had already committed in the race. At best that meant that their efforts would be in vain and at worst it could mean actual investigation and legislation with teeth to break them.
It’s going to get tougher to keep up this offense while Weiss is stipulating to the facts in Shapley’s testimony. The next step is to get Merrick Garland under oath in a House hearing and force him to testify as to what authority Weiss actually had, when Weiss applied for §515 status (if he ever did), and why Garland has lied about Weiss’ status to the public and to Congress for the last two years. It might take a grant of immunity to Garland aides to force the truth out of the Department of Justice for their attempt to bury the Biden influence-peddling scandal — and to see just how high up the deceit and corruption actually go.
Note: Readers might recall Garland’s response last week came in the same press conference in which he claimed that questioning an AG or the DoJ is the same thing as undermining democracy. Now we can glimpse a reason for Garland’s panicked hyperbole; the whistleblowers are exposing the truth about Garland’s corrupt administration of the DoJ.
And this is why, as I noted in yesterday’s post that I believe the odds of the left attempting to steal the election for POTUS this time around are much higher.
For the purposes of this argument let’s pretend for the next three paragraphs that Donald Trump is not a candidate for the GOP nomination, if that was so you could easily make the case that a potential President Scott, a President Haley, a President Pence or even a President DeSantis is unlikely to bother to litigate or even investigate election 2020.
But given these whistleblower revelations and the treatment parents at school board meetings or pro-life advocates by the FBI there is very little chance that a President Scott or a President Haley or a President Pence will ignore this Hunter Biden ignore this whistle blower stuff and in my opinion NO chance that a President DeSantis would do so.
And while Joe Biden is frankly of little threat to the Obama/China clique who actually runs this administration because of the simple fact that given his age and physical state his sudden physical decline and death would be plausible at any time when it might be considered by those who might be worried about him talking, this does not apply to Hunter Biden.
Now let’s remind ourselves that Donald Trump IS in the presidential race and leading in the polls for the nomination and continue this train of thought.
Any sane person knows you can’t count on a crackhead to avoid selling you out. If Hunter finds his head on the block thanks to the pursuit by an energetic special council appointed by a President DeSantis or a President Trump deciding to play hardball the whole Obama crew along with the folks who fixed the last election.
Yeah Hunter may understand that he’s likely to be “Epsteined” if he opened his, mouth but would any of that Obama crew or those feds who have been playing fast and loose with the law really take the chance that a pampered crackhead won’t sell them all to to save his own skin?
And even if they could slow the litigation to the point where they could if necessary arrange an “accident” or “suicide” do you really see a Trump or DeSantis AG in office sweeping it under the rug?
This stuff could bring the whole dirty lot down, it doesn’t matter how unlikely it might seem, the Obama/China team is going to look at this and say: “Why take a chance?”
And that more than anything else if their motive for a repeat of the 2020 steal and why any GOP candidate who isn’t taking steps to anticipate and counter it now should not be considered a viable candidate for the 2024 GOP nomination.

Yesterday the Court struck down affirmative action in college admissions and also had one of the most historic takedowns of a SCOTUS judge by another as Clarence Thomas illustrated the difference between a justice who had worked hard despite growing up in the segregated south who knows what a woman is and one that is an affirmative action hire that is unable to answer that question under oath.
Today the court once again told Colorado that they can not compel speech against a person’s religion despite the determined efforts of Colorado to continue to attempt to do this.
Now the reality of these rulings are that both the university system which has a lot of people whose income is based on this kind of thing, and Colorado which didn’t let the last SCOTUS ruling on cakes stop them from playing this game are likely to be either noveled by the Universities or ignored by Colorado neither of which are likely to face consequences for their actions, but it DOES do one important thing.
It makes the case for Donald Trump in election 2024.
There are arguments for and against Donald Trump as the GOP nominee but no argument is better than these two 6-3 rulings which along with the Dobbs ruling nuking abortion as a right, were only made possible by three justices appointed by Trump.
Unlike previous GOP presidents who tended to appoint Justices who had a 50-50 chance of suddenly turning liberal, Trump’s judges have been so solid that old yellowstain Justice Roberts unable to be the 5th vote for the left (see obamacare) has repeatedly decided to join conservative majorities making 6-3 rulings rather than 5-4.
Now there might be those who argue that any GOP President could have delivered these victories, and they might argue that a DeSantis (likely) or a Scott (maybe) or even a Christie (never) might have made the same solid appointments given a chance, they may even be right.
But in the end “any” GOP president did not deliver these victories and while it may or may not be true that a DeSantis or Scott, or Pence of Christie might deliver, Trump can say unequivocally that he DID deliver.
If I ran the Trump campaign I’d be making this case every single day in every single appearance I made in the country.
UPDATE: While I was writing this post SCOTUS struck down Biden’s attempt to toss student loan debt from those who took it on to taxpayers again 6-3. Maybe it’s just me but I think it’s a better argument for Trump then declaring that election 2024 is all about retribution.

Democrat Bosses in Wisconsin Michigan and Minnesota had no inkling that the election [2016] was close, that being the case there was no reason why, in an age where proof of a federal offense is a cell phone video away, Dem bosses in Detroit or elsewhere felt the need to take any risk. They figured those states were won (and they were right about Minnesota) and by election night it was too late to change it.
However that won’t be the case in 2020, I’ll wager that in 2020 the bosses in Milwaukee, Detroit, Madison and elsewhere will be ready, we’ll see plenty of mail in ballots and absentee ballots that we didn’t see before in those states and plenty of voters looking to go for the GOP will be in the same spot that Steven Kruiser was on election night.
I was going to write a piece today about a standing problem Donald Trump has with the GOP electorate for 2024 but that can wait a bit because as I was writing the piece I began with a caveat and realized that said caveat is should be the single biggest issue for any potential GOP voter who wants to stop the weaponization of the government against them before it ends as such things always do.
The question is this:
“What will you as the GOP nominee for President do to prevent the election from being illegally stolen from you either in the six key counties that were used to steal the last one or elsewhere and what will you do to counter Democrats tactics like ballot harvesting in states where it is legal to do so.”
As Salma Zito noted there are in fact lots of GOP voters who are sick of the subject and may reject the premise of the question and if a candidate prefaces any answer with something like: “I’m not going to re-litigate 2020…” but still has a credible action plan in place to address potential fraud that’s good enough for me. After all General Sherman never admitted he made a mistake in the frontal assault on the Confederate forces at Kennesaw Mountain but he never repeated it. As long as a GOP candidate doesn’t repeat the mistakes of 2020 I don’t care what he says about it.
BUT: Any potential GOP nominee who does not have a good answer to this question AND rejects the need for an action plan to address this question has absolutely no business being considered for the nomination because they are either:
An idiot too stupid to be president
OR
A false flag candidate in the employ of the left/deep state
Without the right stance on this issue any other argument for a candidate means nothing because that candidate can not win, not even against Joe Biden.
You have been warned.
I’ll leave the closing argument to Sarah Hoyt who saw all of this coming months before anyone else in 2020:
Look, they are tainted by the previous failed coups, tainted by (most if not all of them) accepting money from Xi, and FYI China ALWAYS arranges for extra compromise for security, honeypots being their favorite, tainted even by association with Epstein. A second Trump term means a good chance that they go down hard and don’t get up again.
ALL OF THEM from the left politicians to the so called “tech lords” are fighting for their lives. They’re cornered rats. There’s nothing they won’t do.
