Blogging will likely be stopping shortly till late tonight as I have a job interview this afternoon. Ironically one of my references will be interviewing at the same place tomorrow. I hope they have two openings.

Wish me luck. Or if you’d rather not, wish him luck, he’s a nice guy.

I need less zeal for my taxes

Two months before I lost my job I got a new mortgage.

Forgot all about the fact that the property taxes are rolled into the mortgage so last week on the 20th I went to city hall and paid them. (I own 2 properties so I would have had to go anyway).

Didn’t realize until I got my mortgage bill what I had done.

No worries the bank can refund me if I present proof of payment of the tax or in May they’ll cut a check for the excess on Escrow.

That sounds like a no brainier but if I don’t have something by May that’s about the time when my unemployment will run out. It might be worthwhile to have that “banked” till then.

Something to think about.

Where’d he go?

Slept a little late and been a bit busy with a potential customer this morning. Blogginng may be sporadic today.

Possible interesting bite on the job front too. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and will accept any stray prayers anyone is willing to give.

That was a surprise

Yesterday when I dialed in to make my weekly Unemployment Telecert a message came up saying it was out of order. I figured this would mean a long wait to get through today it was up. Imagine my surprise when I got through on the first try today.

Speaking of surprises I’ve been going through the bills, we seem to be keeping up pretty good. I’m not saving anything or putting anything aside for Christmas as I normally do but I’m also not spending very much at all. Since I’ve allocated almost everything to bills the bills are not only being kept up but are getting ahead. If I can keep this level of spending down once I’m employed it will make a huge difference come College tuition time.

Hopefully all of this will be moot in a few weeks or less. We will see how tomorrow’s nibble goes.
