There are role models and there is Rihanna:

While promoting her album, Rated R, in an interview with New York City radio station Hot 97, the singer admitted she was the woman in the naked photos, which were leaked earlier this year.

“They were for my boyfriend at the time,” Rihanna, 21, said, adding, “if you don’t send your boyfriend naked pictures, then I feel bad for him.”

As a former one myself I’m sure there are teenage boys all over the world that are cheering this advice.

As a FATHER, I’m just shaking my head in despair of how many kids are going to take this to heart. I get the feeling that very few of those teens will be found in line to get Sarah Palin book signed.

As a tech support guy I had to laugh at the next quoted sentence:

…discovering nude photographs of herself on the Internet – just weeks after a photo of her battered face also found its way online, allegedly having been leaked by the police department – the singer said, “trust me, I was [freaked out].

“It was the worst thing that could possibly ever happen to me. I just felt like my whole privacy was taken before that [with the other photo leak] and then, when that came out, I thought, ‘Oh great, so now there’s nothing they don’t know about me and my private life,’ ” she said. “It was humiliating and it was embarrassing – especially my mom having to see that.”

It would seem to me those paragraphs are mutually exclusive. And I would remind you that in the digital age if you take pictures like that, they will not only be on the net, but they will be googled and oogled on the net for the rest of your life and beyond!

Do you want those photos to come up in when your name is googled for a jobsearch someday? Unless your goal in life is to try to generate hits for the huffington post I think not. I’d stay far away from this advice.

Rihanna you have earned this Nelson award.

Take my advice: don’t let your daughters become a Nelson award on some other blog.

My review of the Trisonic Universal Adapter for use with well just about anything electric is available at Amazon.com here.

The way I ended up with it was slightly amusing. Because my son’s car was going in the shop again (I hate power windows) I had picked him and Amanda at College (not a girlfriend just a best friend which is a shame because I think she would be PERFECT for him.) and the thought hit me that I needed a power supply for the Ipod speaker that he had picked me up when he got his job. They were very nice at the Shack but when I got home I found that she had given me the wrong device (not really her fault the package was mislabeled).

I decided to exchange it at once and on the way had a sudden urge to check out a store called NY BLING BLING. It is an interesting little place run by two fellows who seem to be of mixed Spanish and Indian origin. It has almost everything from earmuffs, to cell phones to a lot of jeans and of course bling. It caters primarily to the large Central/South American population in town, how large a Uruguayan Consulate just opened in town that makes two consulates (Finnish and Uruguayan) in a city of 35,000.

I have found over the years that it tends to have basic things I can’t find elsewhere, plus I’m partial to any secular business that sell framed pictures of the Madonna and Child, Our Lady of Guadalupe and other pictures that would have matched the religious portraits on my grandmother’s bedroom wall. Sure enough they had this device that exactly met my needs for a 1/3 of the price.

It’s bulky but right now cheap is a big selling point.

In my opinion the Katie Couric photos…

…are not reflective on her personally or her ability to do her job.

This is called having fun, people have fun. Fun is good. Everyone should have fun. I don’t think much of Couric as a reporter or of her bias but why shouldn’t she have fun going out?

I think attacking her on this is classless.

However on the Poem business, I say it’s open season on that one.

I haven’t checked out Charles’ site in a long while but I was interested in seeing what the new convert (great timing btw) to Al Gore’s Global Warming religion thought of the e-mails, he obeying the voices in his head says it is all a conspiracy to derail Copenhagen.

Even funnier he is still flogging his attacks on Robert Stacy, and continues the “canard by association” attempting to taint others, in this case, Hanna Giles and James O’Keefe who are the godparents of the Acorn revelations.

This is the same thing he tried in terms of association with Sarah Palin to attack her book.

I wonder how that has worked out? Oh I know:

Sarah Palin appears well on her way to becoming a million-selling author.

“Going Rogue” sold 700,000 copies — a number that includes pre-orders — in its first week of release, according to a publishing official close to the former Alaska governor. The official was not authorized to release the sales figure and asked not to be identified.

Based on his success rate It’s a shame I don’t have a picture with Robert Stacy, if I can get Charles to attack me with one my interview success tomorrow is assured!
