Hawaii vs Pa-12

I’m not going to go deeply into the the Hawaii special election since I have to catch my ride to the airport but I will leave you with this question:

In Pa-12 a republican loses a special election in a district where A republican hasn’t won since 1972, although it has gone back and forth in presidential elections over the last decade. The election takes place on the same day as he faces a contested primary. That is a sign the Republicans are in trouble.

In Hawaii a republican wins a special election in a district where a republican hasn’t won since 1990 in a place where Democrats have not lost on the presidential level since 1984 and the district where the president is born and took 70% of the vote, and it is due to democratic infighting.

Why is one due to infighting and the other not? Why is one a sign of Republican weakness and the other not a sign of democratic weakness?

Lets not go overboard with the “Traitor” stuff

I dislike the financial bill as much as the next guy. I don’t trust this administration at all and the attitude of trying to stifle business’ that actually provide jobs in idiotic, but listen when a senator makes a vote against you it doesn’t make him a “traitor”.

At normal times you will not get 100% on any particular issue from any person.. I’m certainly not going to throw Scott Brown out the window over one issue or even two.. The next election in Massachusetts is in 2012. If you want Martha Coakley in 2012 or a liberal just like her who will be soft on the war on terror, soft on immigration and not vote for the repeal of Obamacare in 2013 (Which is the absolute earliest time possible to repeal it) say so now but I don’t want to hear anyone complaining if the repeal effort fails by a single vote.

Eyes on the prize people, eyes on the prize.

Nothing more dangerous than those rogue Catholics…

…praying the Rosary in schools:

A 13-year-old New York student was suspended for wearing rosary beads to school.

Raymond Hosier was sent home for two days over the religious symbol, visible outside his clothing.

His school district in Schenectady said students are not allowed to wear beads out of concern they may be gang-related. Hosier, however, said they’re comforting since the loss of his brother and uncle.

After all if you have kids praying the Rosary they might start honoring their father’s and their mothers or deciding to love their neighbors as themselves and we can’t have that.

And of course if it was an Islamic symbol they would not have dared to touch it, but since Catholicism says to love your enemy instead of cutting off their head the school department doesn’t fear them.

However I’ll bet the school department fears a canny lawyer nearly as much as much as Islamic violence so if I was an enterprising young lawyer I’d be calling this boy’s parents STAT.

He won’t get support from the national media either, they only like Catholics who don’t believe.
