Well that’s government recommendations for you.
The argument that she is using the publicity to sell books is a tad disingenuous. When the book was announced it shot to #1 at Amazon. She doesn’t need the MSM to sell books. Remember back in October she was already #1. While we’ve already demonstrated where “liberal” books on conservatism tank vs’ un-reviewed and unpromoted conservatives books.
Let’s not forget that the Nation had to put a deceptive look alike cover in the hopes of selling their anti-palin book since it sure wouldn’t sell otherwise.
She isn’t using them, they are using her and milking her for all she is worth.
Oh and I’m expecting my copies from amazon sometime next week.

“Our policies remain unchanged,” she said of the federal government. ” Indeed, I would be very surprised if any private insurance company changed its mammography coverage decisions as a result of this action.”
I wonder why she would be surprised? The government issues “guidelines” concerning health and companies to ignore them when those guidelines can save them money? What planet does she live on?
If the health plan was passed you think the government bureaucrats that would be running the plan would be ignoring it? RedState Elaborates:
Who here thinks that an insurance company already grimly aware that they exist on governmental sufferance might feel the need to ‘change its mammography coverage decisions’ to reflect current state medical policy? Particularly if there are consequences for not being in compliance with all the laws, regulations, rulings, and opinions that bureaucracies generate more or less automatically.
And republicans congressmen have noticed too.
But Republicans are drawing parallels between the advisory panel recommendations and so-called “comparative effectiveness efforts” that would be employed under Democratic health plans to control skyrocketing costs. The idea is that panels would study different treatments would be studied to determine which are the most effective.
Panels? Hmmm what KIND of panels.

This doesn’t surprise me particularly. I recently finished reading Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism. He makes the claim that the Nazis removed prayer from German public schools in 1935, for a similar reason. I have not had a chance to spot check Goldberg’s claims, but I this does generally fit. National Socialism was derived from progressivism, and shared many of its most obnoxious traits: hostility towards religion, and especially Judeo-Christian beliefs; support for eugenics; government control over the economy; hostility towards free market capitalism.
Is anyone surprised by this? I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
