My latest article at Examiner.com Conservatives in Massachusetts should be grateful not embarrassed by the Tea Party deals with all the tea party has done in the state:

On the night of January 19th flush with victory I asked Former Governor and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney if he and the party would make sure Scott Brown’s victory was a successful revolution (Berlin 1991) as opposed to a short lived failed rebellion (Hungary 1958). The wannabe standard bearer of the GOP answered with vague generalities. Contrast that to Sarah Palin’s direct “cojones” line.

Lucky for the GOP the tea party and its supporters answered for him. People who profess conservatism should be grateful.

It’s worth quoting Glenn making my point for me:

Buckley was charming because he had to be. He got a lot of attention because it was a time when liberalism was at its zenith, and so was its control of the media. Liberals were secure enough to let guys like Buckley on, but only guys like Buckley, whose I’m-a-member-of-the-club aristocratic credentials made him seem safe. And only so long as he was sufficiently nonthreatening.

As long as the right knew their place and didn’t threaten the left’s gravy train they didn’t mind if a republican minority got their share.

And Tea party fans would care about this because?

TPM has a great suggestion for liberals who can’t seem to actually prove that Tea Party members are in fact racists, show up at Tea Party events with Confederate flags.

Because nothing says people on the right are racist like leftists showing up at their rallies carrying Confederate Flags, but that’s not all they really have a great plan to get Tea party People riled up.

Apparently Evan McMorris-Santoro is so ignorant that he believes that the Tea parties are all a bunch of confederates just waiting for a new chance to reinstate slavery. (Paging Shirley Sherrod anyone?). Do you really think any of us give a damn if you burn a confederate flag or no?

Mr. Santoro let me show you a picture from a tea party rally I attended. It’s the Flag of the Massachusetts 15th regiment that fought in some very tough civil war battles. It’s being held by a tea party member at a tea party flag day event. You will note that their hands aren’t burning from contact with a union flag.

Ironically if the Capital police don’t allow it you to set fires (Considering the crowd size that is highly likely) what will you end up with? A bunch of liberals holding confederate flags at a rally. What are you going to do then? Hire another batch of “Progressives” to act outraged?

Then again you guys are getting better, back in January liberals didn’t know one flag from another.

When you create a phony stereotype of the tea parties you make fools out of yourselves, you sound like the type of people who send racist gift baskets.

Jim McKenna needs your help to unseat Martha Coakley

One of the great embarrassments of this year on the Republican side was the fact that after her humiliating defeat by Scott Brown in January no republican got on the ballot to oppose her in the fall.

Jim McKenna however is trying to reverse this mistake, he is launching a sticker campaign for the Republican primaries. If he can get 10,000 sticker votes during the primary he will be on the November ballot and we will have the chance to retire Martha Coakley permanently.

I talked to Mr. McKenna last week concerning his campaign:

Not getting on the ballot initially was a mistake but there is no reason why we can’t make up for that mistake on primary day.
