It’s the start of the month so of course it’s time for the indulgence Calendar. First the full one:

and of course the blank if you want to fill things in.

The Indulgence Calendar is one of the many different devotions of the Catholic church used to help people find Christ. These devotions were taught by many missionaries in Catholic schools around the world.

However there is nothing like contesting with the world to produce wrath and in Canada such wrath was unleashed a few years ago as claims were made concerning the treatment of Indians in Catholic schools including stories of mass graves.

The outrage was huge even to the point of producing an apology from Pope Francis for these actions of a century or more ago, but then a funny thing happened this year. People actually starting to excavate the areas where the “mass graves” were supposed to be there seemed to be one thing missing, Bodies.

After two years of horror stories about the alleged mass graves of Indigenous children at residential schools across Canada, a series of recent excavations at suspected sites has turned up no human remains.

You mean what people were claiming about the Catholic church wasn’t accurate? Amazing

“I don’t like to use the word hoax because it’s too strong but there are also too many falsehoods circulating about this issue with no evidence,” Jacques Rouillard, a professor emeritus in the Department of History at the Université de Montréal, told The Post Wednesday.

Well I can’t speak for other people but when you spread a giant calumny about the faith and the church creating a giant moral panic and causing people lose their positions for questioning the claims, Yeah that sounds like a hoax to me.

And now that there seems to be a distinct lack of bodies in these supposed mass graves don’t you think it might be time for the people who had no trouble pushing these claims to apologize to those they slandered?

I sure do.

Our latest trip down memory lane as Pintastic NE 2023 gets closer comes from Pintastic 2016 and a group called Project Pinball which places pinball machines in childrens hospitals:

It’s a charity well worth your time that brings smiles to the kids and a relief of tension for all those involved.

Progressivism, like all other collectivist ideologies, is all about elites controlling every aspect of the lives of the common folk, who the elites believe are too stupid to decide for themselves.  Once you understand this, everything about these collectivist ideologies becomes clear, including these new alcohol consumption guidelines, just released by the Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

Americans could be urged by officials to drink no more than two beers a week as part of strict new alcohol guidelines.

Biden’s health czar told DailyMail.com the USDA could revise its alcohol advice to match Canada‘s, where people are advised to have just two drinks per week.

Right now, these are just suggestions made by a member of the Biden Regime.  How long will they remain just suggestions?  Given the track record of the Federal Government during the Wuhan Flu Pandemic, and the long history of progressivism in general, I believe it will not be long before an attempt is made to make this guideline mandatory.

Progressives were responsible for the disastrous Prohibition of the 1920s and 1930s.  They have been responsible for countless attempts of banning substances they believe are harmful. Just look at how Progressives handles the Wuhan Flu.  They are now attempting to bring back forces masking and vaccine passports.

The Daily Mail article I got the quote from goes on and on about the negative health effects of alcohol.  None of that matters at all when it comes to the Federal Government banning or limiting consumption of any substance.  The Federal Government does not have the Constitutional authority to ban or limit the consumption of anything.  The plain meaning of the Interstate Commerce Clause has been distorted since the 1940s to make it seem like the Federal Government has that authority.  Life would be better off for everyone in the United States if we returned to the original understanding of that clause.

Yesterday I mentioned that If I was a Trump supporter I’d be pushing the Tucker interview with Orban because of his (correct) statements about the Trump foreign policy which was great if you want peace, but not so great if you want graft for one’s friends.

Now in the aftermath of the hurricanes that hit Florida it’s DeSantis’ turn. He skipped campaign events to head back and take charge which is both the right and the smart thing to do and the wheels are in motion.

The first thing that jumps out at you is that the media seem to be determined to ignore the storm aftermath, this is likely due to the comparison to Biden after Maui to wit:

But the real kicker is this video:

You loot, we shoot. If governors of blue states took this attitude a few years ago US history would have been quite different.

If I’m the DeSantis campaign I distribute this far and wide and by the way, have you noticed how quickly the aftermath of the hurricane became a complete non-story.

Why? Because there is no way to spin it that makes DeSantis look anything but good so Hurricane idalia? That’s old news.

#unexpectedly of course
