This 2nd sunday after Christmas is where we celebrate the coming of the wise men (traditionally Jan 6th also known as “little Christmas” ) who came from the east to see the Christ child.

This Sunday feast also marks the final full week of Christmas under the current calendar. Under the old one the Christmas season ran a full 40 days.

The coming of the wise men is a big deal for several reasons:

  1. The Wise men were not Jews (likely Zoroastrians) yet they saw the star in the east and traveled to Bethlehem to worship the Christ child. As such a trip would be long and arduous this means that other than Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth and Zachariah they were the first people who were aware of the coming of the Lord.
  2. Since such a trip carrying valuables was a time consuming and dangerous prospect the wise men had to be wealthy enough to make such a trip, have security for such a trip and to have the valuable gifts that were given to the Christ child. This flies in the face of many leftist Christians who uniformly attempt to give a Marxist spin on Christianity.
  3. It a notable contrast that these three wise men or kings not only humble themselves before God but follow God’s inspiration to avoid king Herod when heading back home while Herod with the knowledge of Jewish scripture and prophesy instead rebels against God with the slaughter of the innocents in order to circumvent what he sees as a threat to his rule.

So when people try to spin Christianity in general and Christmas in particular remind them of the wise men who confound their agenda but also confirm what is often said, that God works in mysterious ways.

I’ve been very lucky in the sense that I’ve only had one game that the CPU had to take over. But when I looked at that game I noticed that the lineup the CPU used wasn’t the same as the one I would normally use.

However there is a way to make sure that if the PC take over your game, they will at least use a lineup approved by you

Step 1 Save a lineup:

When you play a game and get to the LINEUP check out the section in the upper right

1974 braves lineup

that area is where lineups can be saved. Once you have a lineup you want to save hit the SAVE button

Hit save to create a permanent lineup option

Once you hit “Save” a popup menu will appear. Type in the name you wish to use for said lineup

The nice thing about saving such a lineup is it becomes permanently available to you on the drop down list before each game.

OK once you’ve made your lineup now you have to save it for the PC

Step 2 Set it as a default lineup

Now that we have a lineup saved you need to tell the system this is the lineup you want in a given situation. This involves a few step. First go to your team’s home page:

Just below the standings is a button that says “Select Manager Profile” click on it.

This will take you to the 1st page of the manager profile section which is lineups. To see the saved lineups you have available click on Saved Lineups:

Now choose the situation you want your saved lineup to be used in. As you can see here Seattle has a lineup to use VS LHP. You can also choose what the system does in case one of the players in the saved lineup is not available. Either plug in another player in that spot or set preferences for various lineup spots if you want the PC to totally rebuild the lineup if someone is out.

When you’re finished hit save and viola the CPU has your lineup ready to roll with if needed

There are as you can see many other categories you can set for your team when the CPU is in charge but I’ll let you explore those yourselves

A Happy New Year for all our readers.

A New Year means a new month and a new month means a New Indulgence Calendar that you can download. A regular one with names for you to pray for:

And a blank one that you can fill in with people you wish to pray for or remember.

Download either or both and don’t forget if you have a person who you wish included in next month’s calendar you can leave that name either in comments or post it at the WQPH website on our prayer wall.

A lot to do today so let’s end this year with a Podcast

A lot of our problems come from collectively pretending lies are truth. Let’s hope we have more courage in 2022
