Hoffman pelts Obama with Acorns

Unlike my local Mayoral candidate who doesn’t know an opening when he sees it Doug Hoffman saw this fox story:

Thirty-eight forged or fraudulent ballots have been thrown out, according to records at the Rensselaer County Board of Elections in Troy, N.Y. Enough votes, an election official admits, to likely have tipped the November election to the Democrats.

and struck while the Iron is hot via a Robert Stacy McCain Exclusive:

The campaign of Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman is preparing to request that President Obama send monitors from the Justice Department to prevent vote-fraud efforts in the crucial Nov. 3 special election in upstate New York’s 23rd district.

“Today, I am calling on Bill Owens to do the right thing and, when he is with President Obama tonight; ask him to take immediate action to defund ACORN and block the flow of any and all federal funds to the scandal ridden organization and its numerous subsidiaries. In addition, Bill Owens should request that Justice Department monitors be put in place to insure that ACORN’s political arm in New York State, the Working Families Party, does not steal this election. In Troy, New York, just South of the 23rd Congressional District, a special prosecutor is currently investigating the forgery of absentee ballots in September’s Primary elections and the Working Families Party is the focus of that investigation. Its common knowledge that ACORN and the Working Families Party have absolutely no respect for the law and I know I am the one candidate they want to defeat.”

Oh and Charles for future reference this is another example of actually saying a press release is a press release. That’s the type of thing that done by what we call professional reporters.

This should be an object lesson to the NRCC by doing this not only does Hoffman guarantee Fox coverage as he acts based on their coverage. (Which Stacy links here) but he explicitly manages to link Obama to Acorn if he doesn’t act and both of his opponents as well if they don’t join his call.

This is called the smart way of doing things. We need smart people in Washington.

And speaking of smart how come McCain can break this story even if he isn’t in NY yet but nobody else can?

If you can explain why this isn’t on Memorandum you are smarter than I am. Maybe Move-on is making another set of demands? Or maybe republicans don’t want to offend Newt. Hey Newt how’s your candidate doing? What does she think of Acorn?

…is an ad campaign against a candidate designed to tweak his weight a good idea?

Mr. Corzine’s television commercials and Web videos feature unattractive images of Mr. Christie, sometimes shot from the side or backside, highlighting his heft, jowls and double chin.

Meanwhile, Mr. Corzine, 62, is conspicuously running in 5- and 10-kilometer races almost every weekend, as he did last Saturday and Sunday, underscoring his athleticism and readiness for the physical demands of another term — and raising doubts about Mr. Christie’s.

On Morning Joe where Corzine is often a guest and Mika is almost a health nazi they thought it was over the line. I think that kind of thing is going to turn off a lot of voters.

The Huffpost has the ad and a poll concerning it, but I think the ad has a bigger problem for democrats to wit:

didn’t pay taxes you owe
ignored ethics laws

There is some buzz on it but for myself I didn’t think that particular ad highlighted his weight but considering the Charlie Rangel vote yesterday and the acorn issues is it really a smart idea for a democratic ad to be highlighting not paying taxes and ethics laws? That is going to have ramifications all the way down the ticket.

… I figured that they would give Obama this win to compensate for the non-corporation that they will give him on Iran and Afghanistan:

I guess not.

Not only does he lose but he doesn’t even make it out of the first round.

What does that mean? It means that the perception internationally is there is absolutely NO COST for snubbing this US president.

Let see how the media spin this one. There must be some way to blame George Bush.

I really shouldn’t but I can’t help myself:

the sad thing is I’m directing this at the Obamacult, but the rest of the world is directing it toward us.

Update 4: Rio Wins! This proves that the crime issue wasn’t a primary consideration against Chicago. It’s all O’Keefe’s fault, if it wasn’t for him and Hannah Giles and her bikini pics Acorn could have helped stuff the ballot. (yes Rush said it first but he didn’t mention bikini pics!).

Did the IOC look at Obama -who treats his nations’ traditional allies rather dismissively, and her enemies with too much deference- and see “weakness”?

I’ll never forget what Osama bin Laden said about the decision to attack the US on her own soil, that he saw the United States, throughout the 1990’s as “the weak horse.”

Beyond all the media madness concerning these Olympic Games, Obama’s losing a bid for Chicago may well be sending another sort of message altogether to the wrong people: America is weak.

If that is the sentiment being projected, then our own media have a hand in creating the impression of weakness. Yes, it’s worrisome.

Next time, perhaps they should consider relying on advocates who truly are proud of America and like her just the way she’s been. Yes, Sarah Palin does come to mind just now.

Update 7: Apparently we are all unpatriotic for laughing at the Obamacult and their God’s ineptness. That is the line of the blogs of the left. Don Surber answers them:

But there is a grain of truth in the complaint from the left. But not for the reasons they stated.

That is what hurts the nation and the world. President Obama pissed away the prestige of the presidency so the boys back home could line their pockets with kickbacks on an Olympian scale. In the sober aftermath, America did lose today. Obama — not the IOC — is to blame.

As I said at the top, we are laughing at the shock of the Obamacult, the rest of the world is laughing at us. As for the left which seems to have decided on their talking points, the last word goes to the blogfather:

If so, the state would apparently be an outlier.

I would be asking this question of Franken at every stop he makes and every speech he gives. I’d be asking the MSM this question too.
