Since the very beginning of the Wuhan Flu Pandemic, I’ve felt that there is something  fundamentally wrong with the United States.  I’m not talking about the out of control federal government, or the outrageous amount of government spending, or the fact that all levels of government trample on our rights, or that rampant indoctrination is taking place in our schools, or the way the federal government is crushing our economy with destructive taxes and regulations.  All of this has been going on for decades.

What I find exceptionally disturbing now is how little all of this seems to bother the vast majority of those living here, in what used to be the freest and most prosperous nation.

Previous generations would not have sat by passively while different levels of the government prevented individuals from leaving their houses, closed businesses, forced everyone to wear face diapers,  or forced tens of millions to be injected with a vaccine so they could participate in society.

The founding generation would have grabbed their pitch forks, torches, and muskets.  This generation has behaved like sheep.  There have been some sporadic protests, nothing more.

Now the Biden regime is systematically dismantling the economy of the United States, in order to fight something that is completely imaginary.  Yup, I’m talking about man made climate change.  Gas prices have fallen slightly in the past couple weeks, only because the recession we are in has caused demand to fall. That is after they skyrocketed.  Inflation, caused by both an out of control federal government and federal reserve, is grinding our economy to a halt.  Our dementia challenged, pretend president, is threatening to enact the Green New Deal through executive order.

We are witnessing a disaster of epic proportions at out southern border because the Biden regime has opened the flood gates completely.  Government policies have caused the supply chain crisis and, potentially, a food shortage.  An onerous gun control bill was just passed with the help of traitorous Republicans.  Biden and the rest of the Democrats are threatening to seize assault weapons trough a law passed by congress or an executive order,

What have we done about all of this nonsense? Hardly anything at all.  There have been sporadic protests.  Nothing was done when the 2020 election was stolen from President Trump.

I am not advocating for violence.  We have not reached that stage.  If we continue to do nothing we very well may.

What happens if the midterm elections, we all seem to be pinning our hopes on, are stolen?  If the Republicans win back just the House, will that really save the US?  If the Republicans also edge out a narrow majority in the Senate, will Romney and the rest of the RINOs work with the Republicans, or will they continue to conspire with the Democrats?

What we need to do is organize mass protests, extremely large and non violent mass protests.  They need to be large enough and passionate enough to remind our elected representatives that they are in fact elected representative, and not our rulers.

We need to organize mass election rallies for Republicans in both houses, to build up energy and momentum.  Also we need to educate as many of our friends and family about what is going on.  We cannot be afraid to share or views and we cannot be afraid of losing friends. Mostly we need to vote and inspire as many as possible to vote for Republicans, true Republicans.

I have been a huge fan of Thomas Sowell for more than a decade.  I consider him to be a teacher and a mentor, even though I have never met him.  No author was more responsible for my philosophical awakening, which transformed me from a radical leftists to a hardcore Libertarian.

My expectations were tremendously high before I opened the cover of this book, which is a collection of essays.  This great work greatly exceeded my expectations because all of the essays, particularly the title essay, were full of knowledge that completely redefined how I saw the world.  I am an extremely well read history fanatic.  This book contained a wealth of knowledge that was new to me.

For this review I will concentrate on two of the six essays and let quotes from these two essays form the bulk of this article.

Thomas Sowell’s explanation for the cause of the economic, academic, and social disparities between blacks and whites was something most of us, including me, never considered.

The following quotes are from the article Black Rednecks and White Liberals.

External explanations of black-white differences — discrimination or poverty, for example—seem to many to be more amenable to public policy than internal explanations such as culture. Those with this point of view tend to resist cultural explanations but there is yet another reason why some resist understanding the counterproductive effects of an anachronistic culture: Alternative explanations of economic and social lags provide a more satisfying ability to blame all such lags on the sins of others, such as racism or discrimination. Equally important, such external explanations require no painful internal changes in the black population but leave all changes to whites, who are seen as needing to be harangued, threatened, or otherwise forced to change.  In short, prevailing explanations provide an alibi for those who lag—and an alibi is for many an enormously valuable asset that they are unlikely to give up easily

With blacks as with whites, the redneck culture has been a less achieving culture. Moreover, that culture has affected a higher proportion of the black population than of the white population, since only about one-third of all whites lived in the antebellum South, while nine-tenths of all blacks did.”

The burgeoning of the American welfare state in the second half of the twentieth century and the declining effectiveness of the American criminal justice system at the same time allowed borrowed and counterproductive cultural traits to continue and flourish among those blacks who had not yet moved beyond that culture, thereby prolonging the life of a chaotic, counterproductive, dangerous, and self-destructive subculture in many urban ghettos.

White liberals, instead of comparing what has happened to the black family since the liberal welfare state policies of the 1960s were put into practice, compare black families to white families and conclude that the higher rates of broken homes and unwed motherhood among blacks are due to “a legacy of slavery.” But why the large-scale disintegration of the black family should have begun a hundred years after slavery is left unexplained. Whatever the situation of the black family relative to the white family, in the past or the present, it is clear that broken homes were far more common among blacks at the end of the twentieth century than they were in the middle of that century or at the beginning of that century —even though blacks at the beginning of the twentieth century were just one generation out of slavery. The widespread and casual abandonment of their children, and of the women who bore them, by black fathers in the ghettos of the late twentieth century was in fact a painfully ironic contrast with what had happened in the immediate aftermath of slavery a hundred years earlier, when observers in the South reported desperate efforts of freed blacks to find family members who had been separated from them during the era of slavery.

These lengthy quotes are just a tiny fraction of this well documented article.  Sowell traces the history of the Redneck culture from the wild areas of Northern England and Scotland, which was transported by white immigrants to the Southern United States.  He documents the extreme negative effects this culture had on whites and blacks.  Also documented in great detail are the drastic improvements blacks experienced when escaping this destructive culture and how white liberals have made it difficult for blacks to escape.

The next series of quotes are from the article The Real History of Slavery.

It takes no more research than a trip to almost any public library or college to show the incredibly lopsided coverage of slavery in the United States or in the Western Hemisphere, as compared to the meager writings on even larger number of Africans enslaved in the Islamic countries of the Middle East and North Africa, not to mention the vast numbers of Europeans also enslaved in centuries past in the Islamic world and within Europe itself. At least a million Europeans were enslaved by North African pirates alone from 1500 to 1800, and some Europeans slaves were still being sold on the auction blocks in the Egypt, years after the Emancipation Proclamation freed blacks in the United States.

From a narrow perspective, the lesson that some draw from the history of slavery, automatically conceived of as the enslavement of blacks by whites, is that white people were or are uniquely evil. Against the broader background of world history, however, a very different lesson might be that no people of any color can be trusted with unbridled power over any other people, for such power has been grossly abused by whatever race, class, or political authority has held that power, whether under ancient despotism or modern totalitarianism, as well as under serfdom, slavery, or other forms of oppression

What was peculiar about the West was not that it participated in the worldwide evil of slavery, but that it later abolished that evil, not only in Western societies but also in other societies subject to Western control or influence. This was possible only because the anti-slavery movement coincided with an era in which Western power and hegemony were at their zenith, so that it was essentially European imperialism which ended slavery. This idea might seem shocking, not because it does not fit the facts, but because it does not fit the prevailing vision of our time

For most of human history, and for nearly all of the non-Western world prior to Western contact, freedom was, and for many still remains, anything but an obvious or desirable goal. Other values and ideals were, or are, of far greater importance to them—values such as the pursuit of glory, honor, and power for oneself or one’s family and clan, nationalism and imperial grandeur, militarism and valor in warfare, filial piety, the harmony of heaven and earth, the spreading of the “true faith,” nirvana, hedonism, altruism, justice, equality, material progress—the list is endless. But almost never, outside the context of Western culture and its influence, has it included freedom. Indeed, non-Western peoples have thought so little about freedom that most human languages did not even possess a word for the concept before contact with the West

I most highly recommend this book to everyone.  It is extremely informative and also a very entertaining read. All quotes are copied directly from this webpage: Black Rednecks and White Liberals Quotes by Thomas Sowell (goodreads.com)

It is obvious to everyone that we live in a dangerously polarized political climate.  The left side of the political spectrum has demonstrated a remarkable hostility to anyone expressing political views that conflict with their Marxist ideologies.  All too often progressives. and other leftists, greet individuals espousing different political beliefs with anger, verbal abuse, and even threats of violence.

I have experienced this personally far too many times.  About ten years ago I came out of the closet politically as a Libertarian to my best friend of over twenty years, who is an ultra-liberal, in a public place.  My friend had no problem at that time with my confession.  Another person who overheard our conversation did take extreme offense.  After my friend left, that other person got in my face and berated me about my political views, going as far as to threaten me with violence.  My friendship with my best friend came crashing down several years later, months after we became Facebook friends, because he could not handle me posting my beliefs on social media.  He turned every post I made into an all-out war, full of ugly personal attacks. I never returned the favor because I had no problem with him sharing his political beliefs.

Since then, I have lost many close friends for the same reasons.  A startling number of friendships never got off the ground because they could not tolerate my right-wing beliefs.  This led me to be cautious when I comes to sharing my political beliefs, until I discern that that individual is a fellow right winger.  I have now realized that that was a major mistake.  I let these intolerant liberals intimidate me into silence.

Over the past weekend I was in the middle of a large group of individuals, with mixed political views, when the person behind started bad mouthing Biden.  Thus began a very boisterous political discussion between two outspoken right wingers.  I shared my Libertarian views with my new political comrade.  He agreed with my views because it turns out that he is a fellow Libertarian.

A woman I knew to be a staunch progressive, who was sitting quite a distance away, approached me with a great many questions.  She really liked what I had said.  It had caused her to reexamine her political belief system.  It may take many more conversations, but she may end up becoming a fellow Libertarian.

I will never hesitate again when it comes to sharing my political beliefs with anyone.

It is self evident that modern Democrats live in a fantasy world.  A world where the most fundamental natural laws do not exist.  In order to exist in that world they must ignore reality.   Facts and evidence are meaningless.  All that matters is what they feel and believe.   The state of conscious they inhabit resembles that of mystics who belong to a primitive religion.

Progressivism, and all other offshoots of Marxism, are primitive religions who worship a harsh and unforgiving god, the all powerful State.  Modern Democrats follow the same Marxist religious belief system.

Every individual is free to believe whatever they wish.  No one has a right to force their beliefs on anyone else.  Unfortunately leftists believe they have every right to force their religious beliefs on the rest of humanity.  They force others to follow their belief system.

If an individual follows a belief system that is completely devoid of reality, that individual alone suffers the consequences.  Because leftists force others to follow their belief system, others suffer the consequences. When Democrats gain power over a community they try to force their belief system on everyone in that community.  The entire community then suffers the negative consequences.

This is exactly what is happening here in the United States. Ever since the Democrats stole the presidential election from Donald Trump they have been forcing their Marxist belief system on the entire United States,  The entire United States is paying the price for the Democrats denial of reality.

Democrats believe that man made climate change is destroying the planet, with every fiber of their being.  Man made climate change only exists in deeply flawed computer models.  Because of the belief in man made climate change, Democrats are destroying the economy of the United States, by forcing us to abandon fossil fuels, in favor of deeply flawed wind and solar power.  Millions are suffering because of skyrocketing gas prices.  How many will die during extreme cold and heat because of brownouts caused by the abandonment of fossil fuels to generate electricity, in favor of wind and solar.

Democrats believe Marxism is superior to capitalism, despite the devastation caused Marxism, compared to the overwhelming prosperity brought about by capitalism.  Because they believe this Democrats are destroying the economy of the United States.

Because Democrats believe their Marxist philosophies are superior to the founding principles of the United States, they have indoctrinated countless children into this mistaken belief system, destroying our education system, and potentially our entire nation.

I am a Roman Catholic.  I believe my religion is the best religion.  I know I have no right to force my religion on any other individual.  I have never tried to.  The United States would still be the freest and most prosperous nation if Democrats did not force their Marxist religion on everyone else, in direct violation of the establishment clause of the First Amendment.
