Andrew Yang

by baldilocks

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

— Matthew 6:1-4

But, then, there are other schools of thought on this matter.

New York entrepreneur and Democratic 2020 [POTUS] candidate Andrew Yang wants to implement a system in which a government-run mobile app rewards Americans with “digital social credits” (DSCs) for good behavior.

Americans would receive DSCs under Yang’s system for things such as “participating in a town fair,” “fixing a neighbor’s appliance” or “tutoring a student,” his presidential campaign website explains.

“As individuals rack up DSCs, they would have both a permanent balance they’ve earned over their lifetime and a current balance. They could cash the points in for experiences, purchases with participating vendors, support for causes, and transfer points to others for special occasions,” Yang states on his website.

“As their permanent balance gets higher, they might qualify for various perks like throwing a pitch at a local ballgame, an audience with their local Congressperson or meeting their state’s most civic-minded athlete or celebrity.”

What could go wrong?

Yang’s social credit plan bears some similarities to the social credit system implemented by China’s authoritarian government.

Every citizen in China is assigned a social credit score that determines whether they can buy plane or train tickets.

Unlike the Chinese system, Yang’s plan does not include using digital social credit for punitive measures.

Emphasis mine. Such an app probably wouldn’t have the ability to dish out the type of punishment that the Chinese government does. However, wouldn’t it be interesting for such an app to contain a shaming measure for “bad behavior” — eating at Chick-Fil-A or supporting a pro-life organization, for examples?

Bad behavior could earn the offender a shame-swarm on Twitter or, perhaps, a visit from that chapter of ANTIFA which last seen paying call at Tucker Carlson’s house.

Surely, such a feature bug would never be built into this app. Surely not. (Insert side-eye here.)

Leave it to a Democrat politician to creep us all out. And, unlike Representative-elect Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, this one appears to have more than a few IQ points. Even creepier.

Every now and then, the Left tells you [JAO: Tweet has been delete] what its ultimate goal is.

I’ve said for some time that Leftism’s success requires the earth’s rapid depopulation and that nearly all the Left’s advocacy is geared toward that end: radical feminism — which tends to alienate men and women from each other — homosexual and transsexual indoctrination of the very young; and, of course, abortion.

These advocacies are necessary for the depopulation goal because the Left’s old methods — used by Mao, Stalin, Hitler, King Leopold of Belgium, Pol Pot, etc. — were too alarming. Such methods have a tendency to energize the opposition and their allies — that is, those who would forcefully object to, say, being forcibly relocated to a G.U.L.A.G. The new methods are much more insidious.

The special thing about Bill Gates’ notion that there are too many people in Africa is his lack of self-awareness and historical perspective. Has Gates — a prime mover of the Organized Left — been too busy storing up his treasures here on earth all this time to even have a cursory awareness of the Trans-Saharan Slave Trade, The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, or the European Colonization of Africa?

I bet that he does know about these events and their implications. That’s the sickening part.

Here in the United States, it is well-known that Planned Parenthood has long had a huge presence in black neighborhoods — the better to entice black women into committing a form of suicide. (Yes, that’s what we have been doing.) My guess is that Gates and those whom he represents dream of a day when the organization can have a similar footprint across the water.

If that happens, I’d say that Margaret Sanger would be smiling were she still here. It’s a safe bet that nothing could make her smile now, though.

Hell, no.

I’d call this the latest in Leftist mob action.

Healthcare in China

Getting to see a doctor in China isn’t easy.

After I had a persistent cough, however, I had to see a physician.

Almost everyone goes to a hospital to see a doctor. That’s the way the system works.

What is interesting is how the healthcare system forces Chinese to do something they abhor: standing in lines in an orderly manner.

The Chinese are good at a lot of things but waiting in a line is not one of them. But everyone seems to accept the burden, with few people trying to skirt the queue.

After getting a number and an hour of waiting, I saw a young physician who analyzed my problems and ordered several tests, including blood work and an EKG.

Unfortunately, the hospital closes for more than two hours for lunch, and you have to wait until 2:30 p.m. to take the tests.

The EKG took a few minutes, and the results were returned immediately.

The blood tests were a different matter. They took about two hours to get the results.

After you get the results, you stand in line for another number to see another doctor.

The physician diagnosed my problem as an upper-respiratory infection and provided me with a prescription for a variety of antibiotics and cough medicine.

Unfortunately, you have to stand in another line to pay for the drugs. In fact, almost everyone has to pay up front for any procedures.

The total cost for the various procedures was about $70, which by U.S. standards is excellent. For many Chinese, however, insurance covers only about 70 percent of the total cost, and residents have to wait for reimbursement, which can be a significant hardship for many.

Although I got good care, I had two beefs. First, I couldn’t see a specific physician. Everyone sees who’s up next. Second, it took six hours from entering the hospital for me to get the medicine I needed. That’s about the same as in the United States, but I don’t have to spend all that time in the physician’s office waiting for the tests and the prescriptions in the United States.

Note: It would have been impossible to navigate the Chinese healthcare system without a translator. The same probably would be true if someone from China entered a hospital in the United States.

Mighty Mouse frowns on all your bogus Superhero hijinks.

SJW Nonsense? I repeat myself.

CNN takes a break from tanking the stock market by promoting fake news to feature some SJW Superheroes of the Caucasian persuasion.

White Nonsense Roundup is a social media watchdog group with about 100 white volunteers. Its goal: to relieve people of color from the emotional labor of engaging with a person’s racist or racially insensitive thoughts.

Say, a person of color makes a post about Black Lives Matter. Then others respond with ignorant or offensive comments. That person can tag White Nonsense RoundUp to snatch some edges — or, better put, to educate people with context and fact-based views.

“It’s really unfair that we expect people of color to experience racism, but then also explain it to us,” the group’s co-founder Terri Kempton, a book editor and college instructor, told CNN.

From the White Nonsense website:

We believe it is our responsibility to call out white friends, relatives, contacts, speakers, and authors who are contributing to structural racism and harming our friends of color. We are a resource for anti-racist images, links, videos, artwork, essays, and voices. These can be used by anyone for a DIY white nonsense roundup, or by the WNR team to support people of color upon their request.

That’s mighty white of them.

So black people are too inferior to pimp-slap their own trolls now?

Personally, I like trolls. They taste good with carrots, potatoes and tomatoes. And let’s not forget garlic! Leave it to a bunch of Leftists to try and deny black people the pleasure of eating tasty troll carcass for lunch.

Jokes aside, I’ve talked about this phenomenon before. Such people want to be the heroes of black folk and, thereby, assuage their own white guilt, but it’s more than that.

These people what to be able to say the following to black persons who hate whites.

“See what I did for you people?”

Take it from a black conservative, blacks who hate whites will not give a rat’s. They hate you almost as much as you hate yourselves and feel absolutely no guilt about it.

Pointing and laughing at the impotence of these poor souls is easy. Their best bet would be to turn all their guilt –white and otherwise — over to God. But, I’d wager that many of these don’t believe He exists — a primary condition for fooling oneself.
