What a phony Jeffrey Goldberg is

In his latest he laments the possibility that Israel will cease to be a democracy. Although on topic Israel Matzav answers him the better question is this. Why isn’t Jeffrey denouncing the lack of democracy among Israel’s enemies?

The idea that this fellow who worships at the altar of Fidel Castro is crying about the limits of democratic government is laughable. I hope the Babalu guys weren’t drinking when they saw this story.

The brilliant Ron Radosh explains the whys and wherefores of this kind of attitude now evident in David Remnick

“liberals like Remnick are simply tired of standing up for a cause that has become unpopular on the left.” In making his comment, Remnick announces that he is officially adopting the position taken a few years back by the London leftist intellectuals

Because in the end nothing is more important than being considered part of the right club. And in a slight variation of the old social club model being a supporter of Jews in Israel is enough to keep you out.

I’m with Fr. O’Malley on this one.

…who were planting bombs so naturally the peace-loving people of Hamas were forced to launch rockets into Israel.

No nation in the world would take what Israel does every day without launching an all out war of destruction. How Israel holds it self back every day is beyond me.

Remind me why they deserve a state again?

Remember the idea “oh if only the Jews give up Gaza THEN there will be peace?” Well think again:

He admitted for the first time that Hamas was responsible for the massacre of young men, most of them teenagers, at the yeshiva. The attack was carried out by a Jerusalem Arab.

Obadiah also said Hamas was responsible for the murder of seven other Jews in attacks in the Hevron area and Samaria. He warned Israel that Hamas will continue to attack Israelis, who he said have to choose between “death and leaving Palestinian lands.” He also called on Israeli Bedouins, many of whom have been involved in terrorist attacks and arms smuggling, to help carry out attacks Israelis.

The fact is nobody actually paying attention to what Hamas and the “Palestinians” say has any delusions about what they have in store for Jews. And let’s face it Christian Arabs aren’t fleeing the area because they decided they wanted a cooler climate.

The usual suspects have ignored this for years, but for some reason if you do a search for “Christians fleeing Bethlehem” in Google, under news the results are spotty at best and if you do the same search in Bing there are a bunch of stories about “Iraqi Christians living in fear”.

Now I don’t like Christians living in fear anywhere but funny how the MSM only notices this in Iraq. Isn’t it?

The media helps my show prep

It’s really nice of the media knowing that Pam Geller from Atlas will be on my show on Saturday to try to help me with my show prep.

Item: I’m sorry we don’t serve YOUR kind here.

We keep hearing how Israel is an “Apartheid state” as the surrounding Arab countries remain Judenrein. Apparently in Jordan (a country that is at peace with Israel) there is a better example:

According to the Associated Press, Barghouti told the organization that she refused to serve the two tourists, and ejected them, simply “because they were Israeli.”

Neither Barghouti nor Jordanian government officials answered AP calls on the issue. The Human Rights Watch organization, meanwhile, said in a statement that Jordan is bound by international law to ban racial discrimination in public places.

Hey maybe Jordan can have Israeli’s wear some kind of identifying feature to help restaurants decided who they can serve. Maybe the media if it ever discovers the story can suggest one.

Item: Hate crimes what Hate Crimes?

Our media is hypersensitive to anything that suggests discrimination against Islam in the US. Hate crimes against Jews? Not so much:

the media has been all but silent on a slew of anti-Semitic acts of vandalism at Indiana University, coinciding with the beginning of the celebration of Hanukkah (h/t Stephen Richer):

A series of anti-Semitic acts of vandalism aimed at various Jewish facilities on and near campus has caused Indiana University police to contact local FBI officials and members of the U.S. Department of Justice for help with their investigation.

On Monday, eight different Hebrew texts were taken from the shelves at Indiana University’s Wells Library and distributed to eight different men’s bathrooms, where they were thrown in toilets and urinated on, university officials confirmed. The defiled books were from the research collections section on the sixth and seventh floors of the library.

Substitute the word “Islamic” for the word “Jewish” and the word “Arabic” for “Hebrew” and ask how the media would react? It would be the lead story everywhere and a symbol of our hatred of Muslims as a nation.

Now I don’t believe in “hate” crimes, something is a crime or it is not. This is a crime and should be punished as such but if the students in question want to be noticed ,they have go the full Michael Graham who suggested today that if republicans don’t want to be called “hostage takers” by the president they need to convert en-masse to Islam. Maybe if these Jewish students do the same the media will notice.

Combine this with the Helen Thomas stuff and we have enough topics for the whole hour!

Alas the media need not have bothered, Pam’s whole site is one big story the media has ignored but it’s the thought that counts.
