It’s really nice of the media knowing that Pam Geller from Atlas will be on my show on Saturday to try to help me with my show prep.

Item: I’m sorry we don’t serve YOUR kind here.

We keep hearing how Israel is an “Apartheid state” as the surrounding Arab countries remain Judenrein. Apparently in Jordan (a country that is at peace with Israel) there is a better example:

According to the Associated Press, Barghouti told the organization that she refused to serve the two tourists, and ejected them, simply “because they were Israeli.”

Neither Barghouti nor Jordanian government officials answered AP calls on the issue. The Human Rights Watch organization, meanwhile, said in a statement that Jordan is bound by international law to ban racial discrimination in public places.

I'll wear the Fr O'Malley Badge proudly

Hey maybe Jordan can have Israeli’s wear some kind of identifying feature to help restaurants decided who they can serve. Maybe the media if it ever discovers the story can suggest one.

Item: Hate crimes what Hate Crimes?

Our media is hypersensitive to anything that suggests discrimination against Islam in the US. Hate crimes against Jews? Not so much:

the media has been all but silent on a slew of anti-Semitic acts of vandalism at Indiana University, coinciding with the beginning of the celebration of Hanukkah (h/t Stephen Richer):

A series of anti-Semitic acts of vandalism aimed at various Jewish facilities on and near campus has caused Indiana University police to contact local FBI officials and members of the U.S. Department of Justice for help with their investigation.

On Monday, eight different Hebrew texts were taken from the shelves at Indiana University’s Wells Library and distributed to eight different men’s bathrooms, where they were thrown in toilets and urinated on, university officials confirmed. The defiled books were from the research collections section on the sixth and seventh floors of the library.

Substitute the word “Islamic” for the word “Jewish” and the word “Arabic” for “Hebrew” and ask how the media would react? It would be the lead story everywhere and a symbol of our hatred of Muslims as a nation.

Now I don’t believe in “hate” crimes, something is a crime or it is not. This is a crime and should be punished as such but if the students in question want to be noticed ,they have go the full Michael Graham who suggested today that if republicans don’t want to be called “hostage takers” by the president they need to convert en-masse to Islam. Maybe if these Jewish students do the same the media will notice.

Combine this with the Helen Thomas stuff and we have enough topics for the whole hour!

Alas the media need not have bothered, Pam’s whole site is one big story the media has ignored but it’s the thought that counts.

BTW the Fr. O’Malley badge is from the movie Delta Force

One of the things about blogs that is wonderful are the things we notice that nobody picks up on. A great example is this NYT piece of the iCasualties site and this line that I noticed right away:

Also, donations have dried up — less than $1,000, far short of the costs and down from $8,000 to $10,000 in a typical year. And no more people volunteer to enter the data and free Mr. White to improve the design of the site.

I’m shocked SHOCKED. Why would money suddenly have dried up for Mr. White? Also he is confused by another thing.

These days, Mr. White finds himself more frequently in the role of media critic. He says he is continually amazed at how little attention the war in Afghanistan has generated.

Mike Mike Mike, don’t you get it? As long as a democratic congress is there with a democratic president there is absolutely no way the left is going to support you. You may have started this on your own, but your external support is directly proportional to your propaganda value for the left.

Have no fear, if the Republicans take over in 2012 you will find the money and help will suddenly reappear like magic.

Mark Helprin Redux on DADT

In case anybody forgot. From Jan 2007 to Jan 2011 The democratic party held both houses of congress.

From Jan 2009 a democratic president was in the White House.

During all of this time democrats had the ability to repeal DADT…

…they did not.

Now with less than 60 days to go in their majority, budgets and key items to pass the NYT is whining:

Prospects for Congress to authorize repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy face new uncertainties as time runs out for the Senate to act and strong objections remain among Republicans and the most senior ranks of the military.

What a crock. I expect the liberal media to spend the next two years beating their breasts over this.

Update: In case you don’t get the reference let me quote Mr. Helprin from Aug 2000:

If George W. Bush becomes president, the armies of the homeless, hundreds of thousands strong, will once again be used to illustrate the opposition’s arguments about welfare, the economy, and taxation.

Now that you mention it I haven’t seen many stories on the Homeless. I suspect after Jan 3rd that might change slightly.

and BTW my own opinion on DADT is here.

…and briefly commented on it.

They did not show the RedState video. My son was going on about the “foot stomp” until I showed him the video

and asked what the secret service would have done if it was Obama’s car as Red State says:

So please, condemn head-stomping. Condemn violence. But don’t let the media and the left create a fiction of violent mobs of right-wingers. They’ve been pitching that line since the health care town hall meetings last summer. It has yet to be true.

That well known radical Ann Althouse (who voted for a certain sitting president) says this:

3. The MoveOn.org woman came to the event to create an incident and caused the Ron Paul’s supporters to worry about his safety, so that violent incident was prompted by the urge to defend, in which case even that one incident isn’t a data point that fits the gapingly empty template.

4. “A person in a disguise, carrying a sign from a radical organization, tries to push through the crowd to hand a political opponent an unknown object. What would the Secret Service have done to her?”
Indeed!

And Legal Insurrection says this:

My instincts also tell me also that the criminal charges against the “stomper” will not stick because he will claim (as he has) that he viewed Valle as a threat to Paul, and that he was trying to keep her down until the police could arrive.

Doug Ross plays stop the film and Gateway reports that the press has been so good for the left they they’ve decided to go long on charging candidates.

Ed Driscoll’s post is “Shhh No one tell MSNBC” and apparently nobody has.

In fairness they haven’t made a big fuss that I saw, but giving the bit without the context reinforces a false narrative. I’ve defended Morning Joe in general and Joe Scarborough when fellow conservatives have hit, because I maintain that other than blind spots on Palin and Afghanistan he’s not bad. I expect him to come through and point out the context and at least mention the media double standard.

Bottom line, the full story is available online, MSNBC in general and Morning Joe in particular has as much excuse for ignoring it as the do for ignoring the Ken Gladney story.

There are two shows before election day. I’m hoping my faith is not misplaced.
