Sun rises in east, Globe endorses democrats

This really isn’t worth a post except for one point.

The Globe’s willingness to endorse Tierney simply shows that there is no level of corruption or illegality that a democrat can do, oh I’m sorry be “ignorant” of that would cause them to endorse a conservative republican.

Michael Graham notes this and Opines:

My favorite part? Their headline is “A Record of Accomplishment.” In-freakin’-credible.

He gets very upset over this, I don’t see why, they Democrats have a record of Accomplishment, just not a record of positive accomplishment.

It will be almost as much fun reading the Globe on the 3rd & 4th as it was watching MSNBC after the Brown win.

Update: I have no idea what those block quotes are doing there.

NPR woke me with that line

You know how when you wake up you’re kinda groggy. I woke up today exactly that way and took a peek at a few headlines kinda half asleep scanning a story or two. Then I read the end of this post concerning media outlets banning employees from the Stewart rally where a lady named Emily Bell of Columbia University commented thus about NPR:

She also noted that the case with NPR is different because it is partially publicly funded, which means that it is held to a higher standard to not appear biased.

“NPR has the right approach because they are in the business of serving the public,” She said. “I think it is perfectly consistent to require a higher standard of impartiality.”

There is nothing like a good shock to wake a person totally up. Nobody except a person involved in the liberal academia could have suggested that NPR holds itself to a “higher standard impartiality.”

All that being said I’d let them all go if they want to. I think that way when people read the story they can be aware of the bias of the author and can give that bias as much or as little weight as they think it deserves. No restriction but full disclosure.

But can some sane person explain to me why this guy has a job and I don’t?

The video and the photos that he pooh poohs are all over the net. The willingness to accept peoples numbers as stated are foolish, he beclowns himself, it doesn’t make sense….

….until you realize that he is not writing to report, he is writing to persuade, his goal is the same goal of the whole march, to convince despondent liberals and moderates who are joiners to jump on a bandwagon that has no horses. He is selling a Time Share and looking for suckers.

Hey it’s a job. He has one and I don’t so he must be doing something right.

What does a tired and aging movement do? It puts on a program with tired and aging leaders. Sharpton has long ago worn out his welcome among anyone beyond the hard-core Democratic base; the same is true for Jackson. The 83-year-old Belafonte’s appearance at the rally was impressive, but mostly as a vision from an earlier era. Trumka’s appeal does not go beyond the labor movement, and the young gun in the group, Van Jones, left the White House last year amid scandal. It wasn’t exactly an all-star lineup.

That’s pretty much it.

After Glenn put up his I told you so post he notes something significant:

Now why should some professor in Knoxville be able to determine what our national reporters in Washington and New York City could not?

Do we not pay these people — through the extra pennies we pay on a product for advertisements — to know these things?

I think it’s not just a question of paying attention, it’s all about what you choose to report.

The MSM hasn’t chosen to report the failure of the One Nation rally. They haven’t chosen to show the trash photos or the comparison shots of the crowd. They didn’t choose to report on the DOJ scandal or Van Jones et/al.

Yet a vast amount of Americans knew because of social media. The MSM were irrelevant because they came late to a story that was already told in e-mail boxes, tweets and facebook pages worldwide.

Goliath might not be paying attention but it could be because Goliath would rather be ignorant about a fact they don’t want to acknowledge.

One might survive in a niche market but if your business is information and analysis and you are being scooped by people in the street you’d better look for another business pronto.

Update: Along those same lines I wonder if the Torrance Daily Breeze will find this story newsworthy?

California Democrat Rep. Jane Harman’s family business is laying off American workers – including engineering employees in California — and shifting jobs overseas.

If history is the judge I wouldn’t bet on the breeze
