I was perusing the net this morning when I found an open thread at Ace’s place that linked to this series of vintage ads.
It is pretty clear that none of those ads would pass muster in the west today, but looking that them a 2nd time. It would seem to me that most of them would pass muster in the Islamic world.
So my question is this: Look at the vintage ads in the link and tell me how many would be unacceptable in the Middle east?

The answer is not so well. Nelson leads Limbaugh 50-36 in that hypothetical match up. Nelson would have his party base pretty well locked up, independents would go for him overwhelmingly by a 58-30 margin, and even 21% of Republicans say they’d prefer Nelson to Limbaugh.
Earth to PPP Nelson isn’t running against Limbaugh and never will be. You make yourselves look like fools when this is what you are writing about 17 days before an election.

And Ebert is about as far let as it gets.
Ebert’s article starts thus:
Andrew O’Hehir of Salon is a critic I admire, but he has nevertheless written a review of “Secretariat” so bizarre I cannot allow it to pass unnoticed. I don’t find anywhere in “Secretariat” the ideology he discovers there. In its reasoning, his review resembles a fevered conspiracy theory.
