Christine O’Donnell is standing 20 feet away from me in the lobby of the Fairfield Inn. She says, “I just got off the phone with Senator Cornyn. He said he’s going to give us full support and is going to do media interviews clearing the air.”
He does it because he IS THERE, covering one campaign, getting as close as he can to a campaign and treating people with respect.
There is no substitute for being willing to chase a story like a proper reporter. That is Stacy McCain all over.
…you know I’ve always assumed that some traumatic personal effect had a lot to do with Charles Johnson’s volte fache over the last couple of years. That along with an ability to hold a grudge is bad news indeed.
However now apparently Charles is crossing a line in blogger etiquette that I wouldn’t have thought was beneath him:
it turns out, every link in that post to one of charles’ posts regarding the flight 93 memorial is dead now. so here’s a screenshot to show that google’s spiders, with their indifferent eyes, have recorded charles’ deceit.
and Wrist action using a bit of irony in his follow up post. I won’t rob him of the link go and check it out.
Now when I’ve spotted grammar errors on old posts I’ve fixed them but this type of stuff is just plain dishonorable. Considering the season and the excitement going on it’s a great time to do it in hopes that it is ignored. As one of the oldest blogs and one I at one time defended I’m very disappointed. Tim Blair has the perfect line:
Little Green Footballs is becoming littler by the day.
Ironically his dishonorable attacks on Robert Stacy McCain and my banning led to our friendship, the Scott Brown stuff, CPAC the Tea Party express coverage and my recent trip to Blogcon. This only goes to show that God takes even bad things and can use it for good.
I’ll keep praying for Charles, and you should too, not in the hopes that he changes political sides again but I’d like him to get over whatever is troubling him.

One of the things I discovered in my initial week with Stacy McCain back in January is that actually being there makes a huge difference because when opportunity knocks (or in this case rings)you are near the door to answer:
Getting an interview with Sarah Palin is difficult. Getting an interview with Todd is next to impossible, and I would never have gotten this far if mutual friends — including Anchorage conservative talk-radio legend Eddie Burke — hadn’t vouched for my bona fides. So most of the conversation over the next two hours is off-the-record, or at least on background. To breach that agreement would be to put myself into that category of reporters whom Sarah Palin recently described to Sean Hannity as “impotent, limp and gutless.”
Why is this possible? Because Stacy McCain took the risk and the chance to BE in Alaska, to meet conservatives there and to give them the respect they deserve and produces the reciprocity that makes this moment possible. What a spectacular reporter
Since the MSM is not smart enough to hire him as a roving reporter, I strongly endorse hitting his tip jar. Who else is going to do this for you?
If there has ever been a moment where I have been jealous of my own hat, it would be now. My hat has been to Sarah Palin’s house and I’m on a couch in Fitchburg. ARRUGH!

Update: Stacy’s exclusive makes other reporters seem limp by comparison
Stacy at the Spectator talks about Miller’s victory and makes an important point:
Miller’s victory was a vindication for a lot of people who have grown tired of seeing the GOP act as accomplices to the remorseless expansion of federal power. The campaign succeeded in large measure because the Tea Party movement has turned long-simmering conservative discontent with big-government Republicanism into an organized national force. Ever since the 2008 TARP bailout of Wall Street — for which Murkowski voted — more and more GOP voters have joined the insurgency that helped fuel the Miller campaign in accomplishing a rare thing: The defeat of an incumbent senator in a Republican primary.
It should not be forgotten that many establishment republicans were talking “repair” rather than “repeal” obamacare. The establishment Republicans are a lot more interested in driving the chuck wagon the stopping the gravy train. It’s only the tea party that keeps them honest. Smitty has a metaphor for this here.
