Voices from the Mayday March: Young Michael

Today I’ll be posting a series of interviews etc with people at the MayDay March.

As a rule these are going to be people who I strongly disagree with, however I’ve given them the same forum that I give people that I agree with. I’ve been criticized by the left for not challenging the people from the right that I interview, if you have that same reaction from the other side consider.

I’m wasn’t there to try to change minds, I was there to report what I saw. I think their arguments make the case against them better than almost anything I would say and some of them are horrifically misinformed.

But all did the courtesy of giving me their time on Camera not knowing me, so I am returning said courtesy by letting them make their case unimpeded. Feel free to make the case against in comments (I may make one or two) or via a link on your blog.

I figure our case is strong enough to withstand the other side.

I want to give credit to Michael. After the camera was off I asked him a tough question concerning abortion. Namely this: “If it is determined that being gay is genetic and a parent found their child if born would be gay, would it be wrong to for them to have an abortion?”

He said: “It would be morally wrong but they would still have the right.”, “Just because something is a right doesn’t mean that it can’t be abused.” I thought it was a very good answer. I think the kid is smart enough that it will cause him to think about that question in the future. He has a lot of potential and has a mind worth changing.

…if Fidel Castro is endorsing his healthcare plan?

Isn’t that awesome? We’re finally “catching up” to the oppressive, poverty-stricken, third world ashtray of Cuba! Wouldn’t it be awesome if we just ended up like Cuba? I can’t wait to see the utopia that’s surely just around the corner!

Maybe we can eventually have a tyrannical murderer and blustering anthropoid “leader” like they do – one that cares about “the poor.” An Obamacrat can dream

Say, I wonder if that’s why Castro’s happy — because he knows where “common sense, middle of the road” reform in this case is likely to lead.

In an editorial that the Obama Administration surely wishes had not been written, American communist newspaper People’s World issued a ringing endorsement of President Obama and the Democrats’ actions in muscling Obamacare through Congress over bipartisan opposition, with the editorial board of the communist newspaper claiming that the “enactment of this bill is an enormous victory for the broad progressive movement in our country” while oddly claiming that “almost every sector of American society” and “ordinary people from throughout the country applauded President Obama” and Pelosi for passing Obamacare.

Hey if it walks like a duck…

While I laugh at the comedy of Gabriel Iglesias on his Fluffy shop tour (a nice Christmas present) other people on the blogroll are hard at work:

No Sheeples here talks about the reconciliation that wasn’t and the Democrats in the senate taking advantage of it:

Democrats Evan Bayh of Indiana, Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas and Nelson of Nebraska strayed frequently from their party during Wednesday night’s voting. Bayh, who is retiring, crossed the aisle to vote with Republicans 10 times. Lincoln, who faces a tough re-election race, supported Republicans eight times. Democratic Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia also bucked his party three times.

Nelson, who has come under fire from his conservative base in Nebraska for his support of the healthcare reform effort, supported the GOP the most—on 20 out of 29 votes as of the 2:55AM adjournment.

Be aware that democrats like Lincoln will use each of these votes to try to paint themselves as more conservative than they are.

Don Surber notes that Stupak isn’t the only “pro life democrat” who is now persona non grata in prolife circles:

Having voted for federal funding of abortion, Democratic Congressmen Allan Mollohan and Nick Joe Rahall lost the support of West Virginians for Life — just as Mollohan and Rahall face their first serious challenges in 20 years each.

Everything costs something, will it cost any of these people their seats?
