It got so bad that Google actually turned off the ability to generate images, alas it could still “talk” and express confusion as to who was worse, Christopher Rufo who exposed the plagiarism scandals at Harvard or Adolph Hitler who is responsible for the start of World War 2 in Europe and the Death of tens of millions

or even Hitler vs Elon Musk:

Now remember what I told you before Total Con Concerning Google’s AI

Why? For the same reason that it doesn’t dare show an image of Tiananmen Square…Because it’s a computer program doing what it’s been ordered to do by the people who wrote it.

The reality that Google AI is just a computer program, a complex computer program, with access to all kinds of data, but a computer program that operators under the parameters that the programmers have given it and if people understood that this is what it is then all of this stuff would be no big deal.

This leads to the most simple and obvious question there is:

If Google’s AI, a program that the company developed over the course of YEARS involving tens of not thousand or hundreds of thousands of man hours of work to do so produces such results to queries, why would you trust the google search engine to produce the results you want vs the results they want to give you?

The short answer is YOU CAN’T. Cue Glenn Reynolds who has come to the same conclusion:

I don’t care if some of that ideology may or may not align with your or my thinking about what would make the world a better place: for anyone with a shred of awareness of human history it should be clear how unbelievably irresponsible it is to build a system that aims to become an authoritative compendium of human knowledge (remember Google’s mission statement?), but which actually prioritizes ideology over facts. History is littered with many who have tried this sort of moral flexibility “for the greater good”;

After Gemini, rather than as a user-centric company, Google will be perceived as an activist organization first — ready to lie to the user to advance their (staff’s) social agenda. That’s huge. Would you hire a personal assistant who openly has an unaligned (and secret — they hide the system prompts) agenda, who you fundamentally can’t trust? Who strongly believes they know better than you? Who you suspect will covertly lie to you (directly or through omission) when your interests diverge? Forget the cookies, ads, privacy issues, or YouTube content moderation; Google just made 50%+ of the population run through this scenario and question the trustworthiness of the core business and the people running it. And not at the typical financial (“they’re fleecing me!”) level, but ideological level (“they hate people like me!”). That’ll be hard to reset, IMHO.

Google Gemini turned out to be a colossal mistake David Strom nails it as to why:

Well right now Haley is considered a foe of Donald Trump and thus is to be celebrated the others, not so much. Not even RFK Jr. who is far to the left of Haley but now a threat to the retention of power by the left. Storm again:

A Google employee sees an answer calling Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hateful and just nods. He is hateful, racist, or otherwise discriminatory, so he should be silenced. It literally never occurred to Googlers that others might disagree, so when they tested the product out the answers seemed obvious to them. 

And it’s not “A” google employee, it’s the entire staff who tested and wrote this stuff and the entire management team that approved it. Nobody saw a thing wrong because they all live in the same bubble that believes those whose public thoughts disagree with theirs should be gone.

When Youtube banned me for questioning the honestly of the last election not too many people cared but me because they didn’t see what was going on. When the left which used to love and for decades celebrated J.K. Rowling, Elon Musk and even Donald Trump turned on them. The media left and the google team cheered. After all their actions threatened the power and narrative of the left and thus threatened the greater good:

But now thanks to Gemini it’s all out in the open as to what is going on. The only question is will people choose to see what is in front of their faces or will they accept it…

…for the greater good of course.

Closing thought: Without realizing it or perceiving it Google went from a company whose motto was “Do no Evil” to becoming the Sandford Neighborhood Watch Alliance from HotFuzz in just over one generation.

A Day for Brittany Cooper To Celebrate…

All of this being the case today must be a red letter day for her and those who think like her.

After all on this date 81 years ago over 2400 mostly White straight male Americans will killed when the Japanese Empire bombed Pearl Harbor. Even better as a result of this raid many other American possessions in the pacific garrisoned mostly by white straight males would be seized and thousands more of those, as she puts it “motherfuckers” would be taken out.

Of course all of these celebration is tempered by the fact that in the end those straight white males would prevail dictating terms to the Empire of Japan from the deck of the USS Missouri right in Tokyo Bay.

But at least she’ll always have Pearl Harbor day.

Closing thought, just how many such academics are in the schools today and how many sitting Democrat pols all over the nation believe and support this but don’t dare say it aloud?

I suspect the number is rather significant.

If you are a shareholder of Twitter this is your: “I’m going to make them an offer they can’t refuse” moment. Elon Musk’s offer is your best chance to make the best possible profit on your investment. You don’t have to deal with any of the drama that’s been going on, you don’t have to take sides, you can just cash out and leave it to someone else to deal with. On the minus side if you choose not to take this price, twitter shares will tank faster than CNN+ Unless of course another billionaire decided he’s willing to offer 60+ Billion instead in order to keep those who support free speech silenced then you can sell to either and then watch it tank

Over to you George Soros.

What’s really funny about this is that even if people who hold a solid third of Twitter decide not to sell because they want twitter to remain a gatekeeper against “hate speech” (which they define as: “Any speech I hate”) Musk can still end up with 51% of Twitter and once he does he will have the controlling interest which will give him the power to make changes without taking the company private.

It’s really a lose/lose situation for these folks.

According to some estimates the offer that Musk as made for twitter represent between 1/6 & 1/8 of his estimated net worth. That’s a ton of money to spend on something like this but it reminds me of what a friend of mine Author Tim Imholt (who used to blog here as DaScienceGuy many years ago has told me about rich people from experience. They tend to have much more money then they know what to do with so it’s no big deal.

If Musk loses his entire investment or even half his net worth on this venture he’ll be reduced to living a life more comfortable than nearly every human that has ever existed since the dawn of time. Their only troubles are the ones they make for themselves

Two comments on that fact

  1. Pretty much all of the rich in this period of history are in the same boat in terms of comfort
  2. This is why Christ warns about how hard it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. When you can have all you want at any time and are used to getting it it’s hard to remember the wages of sin when there is absolutely no resistance if you want something sinful

While it’s been a lot of fun watching the left fall apart over this we who are enjoying it should remember something.

None of this means that Elon Musk is a conservative, who recognizes conservative values, supports conservative causes or share our political, religious or cultural views.

It only means that he agrees with us on free speech.

There is also no guarantee that a Musk controlled Twitter will not decide to go off on a nasty direction in the future.

It will be what it will be but it’s worth remembering Musk isn’t the Messiah, it remains to be seen if he’s a just a very naughty boy.

Finally The left’s unhinged reaction to this shows how weak their arguments are as they have no confidence that they can survive in a game that isn’t fixed. However let me note a bright side to this for them.

If Musk is successful in his takeover Trump’s “Truth” shares will tank faster than twitter share will if the takeover fails. Also other platforms like Gab will also be severely impacted by a Twitter that isn’t driven by ideology.

I suspect we will see a lot of stories on how this screws Trump if it happens because the left will need a narrative to keep them from jumping.

Apparently the Democrats are talking about making women register for the draft.

Senate Democrats are proposing a sweeping rewrite of the military draft laws aimed at requiring women to register for the Selective Service System, according to a draft authored by Senate Armed Services Chair Jack Reed and obtained by POLITICO.

I’ve said for a while that the draft is coming since . Even more so now that they are chasing away the actual volunteer base (conservatives, Christians and people who think the country is worth fighting for) they’ll need to increase the pool but the real story here is that Democrats are willing to define “woman”.

For those of you who aren’t Catholic let me put his reversal of Benedict in a way that you might get better. Basically before Benedict the rule on the Latin mass was a Bishop “may allow” the mass, like a state that say it “may allow” concealed carry. Benedict changed it to “shall allow” in other words. Francis has changed it back to “may allow”.

The real question to me here is this. Will Bishops that have the Latin Mass in place in some parishes forbid it from continuing? I suspect that Bishops who allow the Latin mass to congregate will find themselves off Francis’ list of potential future Cardinals.

Unexpectedly of course.

The sheer terror that the MSM, Social media and the left have concerning auditing the ballots in swing states is having an effect on public perception of the left that isn’t very good. Furthermore the willingness of school boards, the FBI and the Military to do the same is having a similar affect on the reputations of all these groups in the eyes of the public.

A lot of these people in charge of these agencies are going to learn that like a spouse who has cheated once trust doesn’t return once normalcy does. But I suspect they are counting on it never returning and the full power of the federal government will be used to make sure those who stole the last election will never have to worry about losing power.

China recently released a video threatening Japan if they aid Taiwan during any Chinese attack.

This is about as stupid as it gets.

China should remember that Japan is one of the most technologically advanced societies in the world and the only reason they do not have nukes, or chemical weapons or miniature killer drones is because they choose not to.

Furthermore while post WW2 realities has kept them from re-arming if Japan decides to return to it’s previous traditions to any degree and chooses to rearm, they can likely have nukes or chemical weapons or killer miniature drones to target CCP leaders pretty fast, not in less time then it takes me to type this but not a whole lot longer.

Talk about waking a sleeping giant.

I can’t think of a story that more perfectly meets the stereotype of a woke stupid liberal than this one:
