One of the side effects of the Hamas attack on Israel is you aren’t hearing a lot of talk about “toxic masculinity” or microaggressions or even the horror of “misgendering” from our friends on the left.

This is as predicted by CS Lewis who wrote about pains and pleasures:

If you’re a man insisting your a woman, or if your a person who declares themselves “nonbinary” or declares that their “pronouns” are “ye” or a BLM activist decrying white supremacy it’s very hard to declare yourself a victim of “violence” when a person refuses to call by your desired gender or pronoun or orientation or enforces the law when during the same week when men, women, children and infants are slaughtered and abused and the images of this slaughter is on every TV channel and video platform as it exposes you for the shallow self loathing narcissist that you are.

You see only in a country that is rich and comfortable and safe can you get away with and even become rich declaring yourself a victim of violence that is either in your own head or due to enforcing of laws that you are breaking.

But there is another thing that has been noticed lately, in fact I’ve noticed it myself while watching the baseball playoff. Suddenly the armed forces seem to be changing their ads, it seems that white heterosexuals males with the masculine desire to protect are in.

This is likely due to failures to meet recruiting goals in the services.

The whole DEI scam and the left agenda is all well and good if all you need is a force for virtue signaling, but now that there is a real prospect of fighting well you need people who can FIGHT.

The only problem is, are potential recruits going to forget the Army’s war on it’s own men?

I think not

Some Advice:

If hiring a lawyer, make sure that none of them had to get therapy from their law school as a student over SCOTUS rulings they didn’t like.

There is a reason why third base coaches exist to let you know if it’s a good idea to take that extra base. If he puts up a stop sign with two outs in the last of the 9th when you represent the tying run listen to him.

If you are counting on $1000+ from a relative as a wedding gift, it’s a bad idea to inform them that they are not welcome at your wedding because you would be frightened by their presence because they vote conservative and not invite them on those grounds.

Not only will for forfeit that thousand dollar payday, but you will forfeit any future paydays that might have come up.

Reality doesn’t care if something is proven in court or not. Reality IS. If you base reality on court decisions or the lack thereof you will find yourself played for a fool.

Finally if your business or organization relies heavily on recommendations from current customers or users to family members for new bodies, don’t mistreat said existing customers. They’ll advise people to stay away.

Do you know what happens when your military goes woke and you get stories like this:

The army of the past is almost nonexistent today and most branches of the service – particularly the Army – are missing their recruiting goals badly. Morale is down and attracting qualified recruits is getting harder. And the services may have to begin significantly reducing standards 

and this:

the Pentagon has become a political institution, one that has prioritized woke culture, diversity, equity and inclusion. This is not a reflection of those who wear the uniform, have fought in foreign lands or those who joined as their patriotic duty to protect our nation – instead, it is a damning indictment of Pentagon political leadership and the generals and colonels who enforce it, as clearly reflected in the latest and unprecedented recruitment and retention failures, where even the small percentage of Americans able to serve, aren’t interested in doing so. As of June, with only three months left in the fiscal year, the Army only met 40% of its enlisted recruiting numbers.

10 years ago I would have been proud if my sons joined the military, now I wouldn’t have them touch it with a ten foot pole.

And of course it doesn’t help when you’re discharging tens of thousands more

All of the U.S. military services have now begun disciplinary actions and discharges for troops who have refused to get the mandated coronavirus vaccine, officials said, with as many as 20,000 unvaccinated forces at risk of being removed from service.

The problem here is all those woke officers and those greased pols who make $ on weapons need a large army or their position and/or power isn’t sustainable, and that means only one thing.

A draft.

If you can’t get people to volunteer, even in a recession and even with large bonus’ being paid, you’re going to have to fill those numbers somehow and that means a draft.

I’m sure that’s going to play well with all those young kids who are outraged if their teachers or professors use the wrong pronouns who suddenly find themselves under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, even if they are made to wash.

I must confess it would almost be worth all of it to see the looks on their faces of the youthful woke left when it happens.

Closing thought: If you were an enemy of the US in 2020 where even with COVID we had a strong economy a powerful military and we were feared by our enemies and the prospect of this continuing unabated wouldn’t you have given anything to get us into the state with an economy in shambles, unrest and lawlessness in the cities and a military in shambles that we are in now?

Wouldn’t you even contemplate stealing a national election?

Closing thought two: Maybe the Army can redefine their recruiting numbers.

Do you know who I am? The Military vs John Kerry

I know the Valerie Jarrett mistaking the 2nd highest ranking man in the US army for a waiter story is an old one, but there are two things worth noting about it.

The first is as Glenn Reynolds pointed out, the difference in how the MSM is playing it:

It’s a good thing Sarah Palin didn’t make this mistake. Because if she did, it would be a univerally reported indicator that she’s an idiot and should never be allowed anywhere near issues of public policy. Luckily, since it was Valerie Jarrett, it’s all in good fun.

This is so axiomatic that it’s almost not worth saying but we’re going to KEEP saying it to make the lie out of the “Sarah Palin stupid” , “Sarah Palin ignorant”, “Sarah Palin evil” nonsense that we are bombarded by regularly that one has to call them on it.

The second it the part of the story that nobody is talking about. The class of the general, Four-star Army Gen. Peter Chiarelli, to wit:

“The guy dutifully went up and got her a glass of wine, and then came back and gave it to her and took a seat at the table,”

No objections, no ranting about rank, not even an: “Excuse me I’m not a waiter but I’ll find you one.” By going and getting the wine for Ms Jarrett not only did the General act with humility but he deliberately acted in such a way to keep from embarrassing Ms Jarrett.

Imagine just for a moment if we replaced General Peter Chiarelli with John Kerry? Let’s quote an old Howie Carr piece:

One off the surest ways to get the phones ringing on any Massachusetts talk-radio show is to ask people to call in and tell their John Kerry stories. I’ll never forget one of my most embarrassing moments. I was at a dinner with a bunch of military and ex military a couple of years ago. I was sitting at a table with two genuine heroes, one from WW 2 and one from Vietnam. It came up in conversation that the gentleman from Vietnam had earned 3 purple hearts in his tour, I absent-mindedly said “Just like John Kerry”. You could have heard a pin drop, his wife coldly commented: “No not like John Kerry”. I felt a real fool, particularly being one who never served.

It is that humility that makes the military one of the most respected institutions in the nation and the congress and the white house not.
