Embrace the Power of NO!

There is actually a very easy way to deal with the insanity of the world today. A way that my parents and their parents understood. A way that leaders like Churchill and Washington and Lincoln understood, a way that is so simple that people once they discover it are amazed at the power it holds.

It is the magic word

NO!

When people insist you cancel a speaker at a college, simply say NO! When people insist that you pretend people with penis’ are women say NO! When your child insists that they are a different sex or a superhero or must have the latest toy or else: Say NO!

For two generation this magic word has been shelved by so called adults that didn’t want to admit that they had grown older. They wanted to be not the parents to their children or the teacher to their students, they wanted to be their FRIENDS. And because their goal was the approval of their charges rather than their protection or education they granted every wish, gave a trophy to every performance and eliminated any objective standard by which their charges might challenge themselves, to the point where now THEIR charges don’t know how to deal with their own children or charges that make demands on them.

NO can save your budget, NO can protect your kids and charges from danger and when backed up by security and law, for example arresting prosecuting and expelling students that commit violent acts or disrupt speeches NO can instantly bring perspective to someone who has never had to deal with rejection.

It works on a national scale as well. Look at the Democrats in the senate who were desperate to stop Kavanaugh, desperate to remove Trump and desperate to stop the president from filling positions in the judiciary. Each time they screamed and shouted and the media amplified their voice, yet each time, instead of caving Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell said NO!.

Look at Iran, Look at Syria, Look at North Korea, look at the Palestinians, how the willingness to say NO has allowed us to get places that people said were too dangers, were impossible.

And most importantly look at the cities that have been unable to say NO! to activists, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and ask yourself if you can’t afford a wall and/or gate around your house and a bodyguard if that is where you would want to live.

To be sure there might be some short terms costs to saying NO! Those who have never been refused before will be shocked, may throw tantrums, may at times react completely unhinged.

But remember the choice is stark, You can either be a subject to others whims or be free. It is no coincidence that those who have been able to secure freedom for the most people, Washington , Lincoln and Churchill were all willing to say NO! to great tyranny

So learn to say no to these petty tyrants, and free yourself and them.

“Shout #ViveLEmpereur or else ” Explained

As I’ve been hitting a lot of tweets on twitter with the hashtag
#ViveLEmpereur and the phrase “#ViveLEmpereur or else” or “Shout
#ViveLEmpereur or else” I thought I would once more explain exactly what I mean by this. It’s very simple.

Let’s say a person decides that irregardless of actual reality they are in fact Napoleon Bonaparte.

If that person decides to dress like Napoleon, speak like Napoleon, decorates their house in a Napoleonic fashion, adopts the mannerisms and habits of Napoleon and even surgically alters themselves so they resemble Napoleon then and lives their life as if they are in fact Napoleon then that’s their business and not mine. I don’t care if my waiter, or mechanic or co-works thinks they are Napoleon but still takes my order properly, or fixes my brakes right or does their job without interfering with mine. I don’t care.

The moment said person decides to try to not only force me to pay for his delusion with my tax. Dollars or attempts to use the law to force me to cry Vive L’Empereur whenever he passes by, then it becomes my problem.

The Transgender movement is all enabling people who are lying to themselves and people have discovered that this enabling can be used as a means for to obtain power and wealth and as a weapon against their political enemies.

It is those folks who are declaring to the world “Shout #ViveLEmpereur or else “.

I refuse.

It’s No Mystery , It’s Still the Tom Hagen Math (and Business)

I’ve been seeing a lot of articles on the sudden discovery that the Democrats don’t seem to care too much for Jews

Omar, a Muslim Somali-American elected last week to replace outgoing Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) in the House, fought accusations that she held anti-Israel views during her campaign. As part of that effort, she told a group of Jewish voters in the state that she opposed the economic boycott of Israel, calling it “counteractive” and “not helpful in getting that two-state solution.”

But Omar’s tune has changed since winning the election. In an interview published Sunday by MuslimGirl, Omar said she “supports the BDS movement.”

“Ilhan believes in and supports the BDS movement, and has fought to make sure people’s right to support it isn’t criminalized,” her campaign told MuslimGirl, which said Omar had been criticized for coming out against BDS. Omar’s campaign also pointed MuslimGirl to her vote against an anti-BDS bill in Minnesota’s state legislature and her argument that boycott movements were successful in South Africa.

Some say it’s the Socialism and comes straight from Marx:

It’s worth keeping Marx’s views in mind as you ponder the rise of figures like Ilhan Omar, the young and comely Somali refugee who just took Keith Ellison’s House seat in Minnesota. Like many new Democrats, Omar was nurtured by the far-left Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. ‘Israel has hypnotized the world,’ Omar said on Twitter, ‘may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.’

Then there is the man she replaced, Keith Ellison, now the Attorney General-elect of Minnesota. ‘We can’t allow another country to treat us like we’re their ATM,’ Ellison said of Israel. ‘That country has mobilized its Diaspora in America to do its bidding in America.’

And let’s not forget the Democrat ‘It Girl’ herself, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has gone back and forth on the question of whether Israel has a right to exist at all but has been as never-varying as Dewar’s Scotch in referring to Israel’s ‘occupation’ of Palestine.

And in fairness a few have been sounding the alarm for a while

Minnesota Rep-elect Ilhan Omar presents as a case study in the way the Democrats hate now. I have pursued the case study for Power Line readers in numerous posts as well as for Weekly Standard readers in “The anti-Israel seat” and City Journal readers in “A question for Democrats.” I wrote all the most prominent Minnesota Democrats I could think of for their comment on the Omar case. To a man and woman, they all rested on their right to remain silent.

David Harsanyi took up Omar’s case this week in the New York Post column “Here’s the anti-Semitism the media doesn’t want to mention.” Citing Power Line, he has now followed up his New York Post column with the Federalist column “Ilhan Omar’s Election Shows Democrats Aren’t Interested In Confronting Anti-Semitism.” Indeed, from Omar’s case we may infer that Democrats are becoming purveyors of anti-Semitism.

But even as anti-Trump Nazis continue to cause grief it worth reminding everyone that all of this is entirely predictable, Why?  Simple Math:

Right now the left has the Gays and the Transgenders and the Hollywood elites & media in which they are overrepresented and they figure that’s the best things to have, but in America Islam is a thing of the future.  In 20 years the children of Muslims now being raised on the tenets of Sharia law in America will be old enough to vote and Democrats going to make sure they get those votes when the time come, not now but 10-20 years from now.

The math is still the math and as Islam becomes a growth industry for the left American Jews who are now asking for clarification from folks like Omar sound a lot like a phenom I’ve seen before:

  if there is one thing that human beings have an incredible capacity for, it’s self delusion and for a very long time there will be plenty of Jewish democrats who remain in denial even as their children attending elite colleges find themselves treated as second class citizens if ever and whenever they try to acknowledge and celebrate their Jewish identity and hide it due to fear.  It’s very much like some elderly faithful Catholics who somehow haven’t gotten through their heads that this is not the democrat party of JFK or Tip O’Neill anymore.

The Democrats will leave American non-religious jews (or “Plop Jews” as comic Evan Sayet calls them) behind as they continue to court the Muslim  vote, however said Jews I suspect will be in denial and will accept ” explanations” and “clarifications” that will keep the dollars flowing right up until the point where Democrats decide that even their funds aren’t needed anymore and when they find themselves isolated and rejected with only the GOP as a safe haven, they’ll somehow blame Trump.

Ironic final thought:  In one respect this is exactly how a representative republic is supposed to work, when a particular group gains in power or population their views, even ones beyond the pale tend to get respect as the parties vie for their vote.  Now if we still had a country where both parties signed onto the same Judeo-Christian culture the price of acceptance would be rejecting views that dehumanize Jews in general and Israel in particular, but as the left has largely abandoned that culture, an effort led by many of the same liberals who now wonder why their party suddenly finds them expendable,  the fruits of the poison tree of their Marxian labors are slowing becoming ripe.

Kim Davis Vs the Modern Left, Compare and Contrast

Kim Davis on being released from jail & a leftist pounding on the doors of the Supreme Court

As I’ve been watching the left continue its violent push to make the rest of us comply with their demands and the craziness of their Kavanaugh stuff to the point where we actually had a Democrat editor justifying the shooting of Steve Scalise as the natural consequence of his votes.

Seeing all this I couldn’t help but think of the contrast between their actions and those of Kim Davis.

For those of you who have forgotten Kim Davis is the former Democrat who refused to issue gay marriage licences with her name on them in Kentucky when the Supreme Court imposed Gay Marriage overriding the laws of her state and others.

She sought compromise, her opponents would have none of it:

Davis didn’t seek publicity, those who choose to force her hand did, as marriage licences were available just a few miles away. Even as the country’s media and elites demonized her and pundit after pundit attacked her she went to court to defend her position citing her religious beliefs seeking a compromise that would allow her to function without her name being on marriage certificates.

She was threatened with jail, and accepted it:

On Thursday the judge in the case gave her one last chance to fold her card, she declined saying it was a heaven or hell issue to her. So the judge had her jailed, meanwhile four of her five deputies agreed to issue the licences to gay couples as he commanded and on Friday began doing so.

And did so without anger or hate

Kim Davis has gone to jail without fear, without complaint. She did not scream defiant curses, she did not call for violence in her name. Her only worry was disobedience to the Lord.

And when the courts decided that she should be freed how did she react

Kim’s Davis’ entire speech was about God and serving him and thanks and love for her supporters.

No critique of the judge, no anger over her imprisonment, no fancy words about the political irony of a bunch of Republicans defending an elected democrat. No talk about the likelihood of her being re-imprisoned. Everything completely consistent with the dignity of the stand she took for the sake of her soul and others.

And when offered muscle to protect her from all those who were threatening her in person and online she declined:

Given her situation the offer of armed protection must have been attractive, she has been vilified and hated not only by the left for her principled stand but by some on the right objecting to her civil disobedience on law and order grounds. How easy would it have been for her to accept this offer of protection. How comforting might it have been to know people considered her so important they were willing to fight for her. How tempting.

I’m pleased to say she did not give into this temptation:

Oath Keepers has been contacted by Kim Davis’ legal team at Liberty Counsel, and they have, on her behalf, declined our offer of assistance in protecting her from a possible repeat incarceration by Federal District Court judge David Bunning. We will, of course, respect her wishes, and are hereby issuing a stand-down for our security volunteers who were planning on deploying to Morehead, Kentucky on Monday.

She didn’t even fire or critique her deputies who issued the licences that she would not:

Now the last thing the left could hope for was that she would fire her deputies, allowing them to attack her for demanding a conscience exception while not allowing her subordinates to do the same.

Alas poor leftists, that was not to be:

Before starting her workday, Davis appeared defiant, saying she will not issue any marriage licenses that go against her religious beliefs. But she left the door open for her deputies to continue giving out marriage licenses to same-sex couples as long as those documents do not have Davis’ name or title on them.

The marriage license that the couple received said “pursuant to federal court order” on it, and instead of listing Davis’ name and Rowan County, it says city of Morehead, the county seat.

Her willingness to stand without violent confrontation, taking the penalties prescribed by law and not attack those who went after her had a salutary result at the ballot box:

Alas for our liberal friends the voters of Kentucky clearly knew which side they were on too and it wasn’t close

Bevin was able to defy pundits, political insiders and polling — including one released by his own campaign in October that showed him losing — and emerge a winner Tuesday night.

In the end, it wasn’t even close. Bevin won 107 of the state’s 120 counties on his way to a nine-point victory.

Who made the compromise she sought a legal reality

“To ensure that the sincerely held religious beliefs of all Kentuckians are honored, I took action to revise the clerk marriage license form,” Bevin said in a statement.

Davis’s team was delighted:

“This is a wonderful Christmas gift for Kim Davis,” the group said. “Kim can celebrate Christmas with her family knowing she does not have to choose her public office and her deeply-held religious convictions.”

I think driving Kim Davis from the Democrat party will cost them for decades to come.

And in the final irony David Ermold one of the men who forced the confrontation that sent her to jail ran couldn’t even win the Democrat primary to unseat her despite a ton of money from bigtime liberals

A gay Kentucky man who was denied a marriage license by Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis nearly three years ago has lost his bid to unseat her. 

David Ermold had been seeking the Democratic nomination for county clerk in Tuesday’s primary in Rowan County, Kentucky. Though Ermold’s high-profile campaign raised more than $200,000 from supporters, including donations from Amy Schumer and Susan Sarandon, he lost to challenger Elwood Caudill Jr. in the four-way primary, the Lexington Herald-Reader reports. 

and liberals in the press are still angry, particularly as she has a book out:

Holier-than-thou public figures such as Gov. Matt Bevin, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and evangelist Franklin Graham rallied to Davis’ cause. Those three have now written promotional blurbs for her book, which has the arrogant title, “Under God’s Authority.”

“When history called upon Kim, she was both ready and willing to respond,” Bevin wrote. “Will the same be said of you?”

Pardon me while I pound my fist.

if she’s pounding her face now wait till Kim Davis gets re-elected again.
