My newest article for the Examiner deals with the Post (Tea) party Summit in Danvers Massachusetts on the May 8th in Danvers Massachusetts. It being VE day I started with a Rommel quote:

It is said that when describing the American Army he faced in North Africa General Erwin Rommel the Desert Fox said: “I never saw an Army that did so poorly in their first battle and learned so much by their second.”

I talked a bit about the training that was given. Considering the success today

Another joins the unstoppable Axis of Fedora!

in Utah how much more successful will the Tea Party people be when they are schooled in the political arts…

…and wearing Fedoras!

We caught up to Anita MonCrief at the Post (Tea) Party Summit just outside of Boston (Danvers). I must admit I’m a sucker for people who went to Catholic School when they were young:

You know Charles Blow says we are all racists at the tea parties so maybe she was an optical illusion.

Jennifer Gaucher talked to us about what the Post (Tea) Party Summit.

Yet another dangerous radical.

The Washington Post blog reports that Bob Bennett has been defeated in Utah:

Bennett was defeated there as Lee, a former counsel to popular former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and Bridgewater who had lost two races against Rep. Jim Matheson (D), advanced to the final ballot.

Bennett’s defeat marks the first time a sitting Senator has lost in an intraparty fight since 2006 when Sen. Joe Lieberman was ousted by wealthy businessman Ned Lamont in the Democratic primary. Lieberman went on to run and win as an independent; under state law Bennett cannot pursue that course.

Any republican who thinks that business as usual will be acceptable after a November win had better take a long hard look at that Utah result.
