Israel’s utter decimation of Hezbollah in Lebanon has confirmed that they have reached the “That’s All I Can Stands I Can’t Stands no More!” stage of existence. In the absence of US leadership Bibi and company has decided to act in their own best interest and take out the trash rather than sit back and appease western governments afraid of angry Arabs.

With Tanks now at the border of Lebanon and the entire command structure of Lebanon gone suddenly the Lebanese is suggesting they will enforce UN resolutions to restrain what’s left of Hezbollah but Israel seems to have decided to take the John Wayne approach from True Grit on rats deciding to kill them rather than let them be.

If I was Iran I’d be damn scared right now.

Speaking of Israel I don’t know what is more embarrassing to me as an American.

  1. That a few days after the Houti’s attacks a group of US warships without any response from us Israel took out their entire oil and fuel reserves at Al Hudaydah port in retaliation for a ballistic Missile strike they conducted against them while they were busy in the north.
  2. That Joe Biden the president when asked about this strike into Yemen strike said this:

This is the man who just over three months ago the entire news media INSISTED was sharp as a tack and anyone who said otherwise was speaking “disinformation”

If you want to understand the difference between a champion and a good player look no further than this exchange when Tom Brady was asked about comments made by the current Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield concerning how the players wanted him to bring “the joy back to Football” lessening the strees they had during the Brady years.

Brady answered thus:

In fairness to Mayfield he has not done bad in Tampa Bay leading them to one playoff win and having a good start this year. When he manages that first Super Bowl Ring then he can talk.

Let me tell you fans in New England are learning the stress of no Super Bowl Rings these days

Some People are shocked that Hillary Clinton is demanding the MSM attack Donald Trump more which given the level they have hit him so far doesn’t seem possible.

I’m not

She is simply claiming the right to treat her slaves as she wishes.

Finally the Chicago White Sox managed to avoid the worst kind of history winning 5 of their final six to finish 41-121 with a .253 winning percentage. While they did set the record for most losses in a season at 121 which beats the 1962 Mets 160 their 41 wins means their winning percentage is .253 as opposed to the Mets .250 meaning that the Mets remain in a class by themselves.

It’s an even bigger accomplishment when you figure that by taking two of three from the Tigers they forced them into the 6th seed in the playoffs when a single win would have given them home field advantage vs the Royals so they had something to play for.

As the Monty Python crew sings, always look at the bright side of life

One of the reasons why I think that Baseball is the greatest game ever invented is that the unexpected is constantly happening and you can’t run out a clock to win.

A month ago the Detroit Tigers were pretty much out of the playoff race, now with only a dozen games left they go into today 1/2 game out of the final wild card and if the scores of their current game and the Redsox Twins game 1 holds they will hold the final wild card spot alone with six games to go, at least until game 2 of the Sox/Twins double header.

You could have made a fortune betting on the Tigers doing that. Of course hopefully we won’t find out that some mafia guy did make such a bet 40 days ago.

BTW as I was typing this the Orioles scored to tie their game with Detroit. Like I said baseball you never know in baseball.

The Tigers sudden winning ways are bad news for the Twins and perhaps bad news for the Orioles and Yanks as you never want to face a team that’s red hot, but it’s even worse news for the hapless Chicago White Sox.

As I noted a while back the pale hose need to get to 41 wins to avoid being the worst team in history since the formation of the American League. As of today they are 36-119 meaning they need to win 5 of their final seven games to avoid infamy.

A month ago they had one hope while today’s game vs the Padres was against a team in the thick of the playoff battle their final six games were against teams completely out of it.

Alas this is no longer the case. While the Angels remain as out of it as you can get their final three are against a Detroit team that will need every win they can get to pass the twins and hold off the Mariners.

Only the Twins and Mariners regret this situation as much.

I’m old enough to remember when Beverly Hills was a place that was pretty safe and Axel Foley of Detroit would be out of place there.

Apparently not anymore

I guess the Lego cops joke from the new movie wouldn’t work anymore.

Hey I guess the Hollywood Left is getting what they voted for.

You know the problem with left’s narratives is that when confronted with reality they don’t stand up.

A great example of this is shown in this exchange with Megyn Kelly on a panel talking about “convictions” in civil cases.

How many people hearing that first argument on a CNN or MSNBC without pushback bought it?

I suspect a few leftists at least.

Finally there are plenty of casualties in California’s war on business employees at Chipotle are now one more

Chipotle has introduced two robots that can take over tasks normally done by its workerThe ‘autocado’ can peel, stone and cut an avocado for guacamole in 26 seconds.

Meanwhile, a ‘digital makeline’ portions up salads and bowls based on orders on the app.

The machines are part of an automation drive that Chipotle bosses hope will cut down the number of workers needed – slashing rising labor costs.

So, it is no surprise they are being put to use first in two of the Mexican chain’s restaurants in California, the company announced on Monday.

Recent legislation raised the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20-an-hour in the state.

And these changes won’t be limited to California once economy of scale brings the prices of these machines down.

You can’t repeal the laws of economics

Now that I’m used to getting up at 5:14 AM for work I decided instead of dropping off the car last night for the oil change and general check before the inspection sticker to drop off my car at my mechanic’s early this morning and walk to a local diner where the waitress was surprised to see me alone as I’m normally there with my wife (off at work) or my priest (saying mass). As the election is close and she sees people daily I asked her what she was seeing.

She said things tended to vary depending on what people do but a lot of their regulars were doing OK (lots of contractors) and that in general for their base it wasn’t as bad as it’s been.

It wasn’t the answer I expected but that’s fine. I ask questions to get data point not confirm prejudices or advance agendas.

After breakfast I walked back down to the mechanics garage. He had since arrived and said my car would be ready around 9:30. When I returned after a sojourn at my sons house nearby the car was ready and would despite its age pass Massachusetts rigorous inspection on it’s first try.

But the real story came when we discussed the idea of him getting an apprentice as he had been doing this for 30 years. He told me that young folks simply weren’t interested in doing the work because that’s what the job was, long work and the few that did were snatched up by dealerships that could pay more.

It will be a sad day for me when he eventually retires, but I suspect by that time my driving days will be done.

After my inspection I ran some errands and headed out for lunch. On my way I spotted something interesting. A while back the daughters of Sabino the baker whose bread we used to buy as a kid and whose bakery burned down in a fire in my early teens, opened up a place in Leominster named Tre Sorelle which was an Italian food and items specialty shop. Sabino himself used to come in once or twice a week and I was able to buy the bread I had as a youth and give my sons a taste of it. The place closed a long time ago and has been empty, drove by today and saw it’s been transformed to a fast food place called Billy Bob’s.

Times, tastes and populations change.

Speaking of tastes changing I found myself in the mood to re-read Bernard Cromwell’s Sharpe’s Eagle or Robert Graves’ I Claudius or one of the later C. S. Forester’s Hornblower books during lunch. As I arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before they opened and there was a Barnes and Noble’s 3 minutes away I ducked over to search for one of the three to pick up.

When I checked the fiction section the only one of the Sharpe’s books there was Sharpe’s Tiger the only Hornblower Book was Mr. Midshipman Hornblower which I had at home & wasn’t in the mood for and neither I Claudius or the sequel Claudius the God were in sight.

As little as 20 years ago it would have been unthinkable for a fiction section of a large bookstore to be deficient in any of those volumes but again, time and tastes have passed me by.

Finally you might remember the rather ugly split between Project Veritas and James O’Keefe who was the founder and face of the organization.

As you might have heard James being James he’s has continued on with his work even infiltrating the DNC this month and exposing some very iffy stuff from Act Blue concerning donations details of which you can find at OMG (O’Keefe Media Group).

but apparently Project Veritas is also still soldiering on and has an expose with a Lawyer who appeared for the FDA admitting on an undercover video that they abused their authority

I’m pleased Veritas is soldering on as it’s better to have more than one group doing that job that the media used to do.

This assessment of the situation in England is better than anything else I’ve read

Not since 1066 has a government in my land so hated and despised the people it rules, and been so determined to enslave, reduce, deny, exploit and destroy them. What is happening with mass immigration, with unacknowledged but real Muslim conquest, and with erasure from both the history books and the streets, represents a deliberate attempt to expunge a distinct people from the world, to consign them solely to history. And if you don’t believe that is true, visit the parts of Birmingham or London or Bradford where it has already happened, and find me an Englishman there.

There is also an excellent bit of history about the Norman Conquest and its aftermath well worth your time.

The difference between how DA Allen Bragg treats people who are considered a danger to Democrat re-election efforts vs a danger to police or innocent Jews is illustrated here:

James Carlson, who also goes by Cody, burned an Israeli flag, violently stormed Columbia’s Hamilton Hall, clashed with a facilities worker, and allegedly broke a police camera while detained. He was arrested on April 20 on a misdemeanor arson charge and again on April 30, the day that New York City police swept Columbia and cleared Hamilton Hall, for burglary, a felony in New York.

By the time Carlson and other Hamilton Hall arrestees attended their June court hearings, however, the Manhattan district attorney’s office—led by Alvin Bragg—opted to pursue a reduced charge against Carlson: criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. As a result, Carlson, a trust fund kid who specializes in animal rights law and lists his $2.3 million Brooklyn townhouse on his active New York attorney registration, faces little risk of losing his license.

Via Hotair. Never forget that if Trump was the pre 2015 Trump who was not consider a threat to Democrats holding power his case would never have seen the light of day.

How Bad was the Walz Pick by Kamala Harris, this bad:

Two things to remember about this story:
  1. The Walz pick was the first decision made by Kamala as the Democrat candidate for president.
  2. This is the same media that has done their level best to raise up and protect Harris from the moment Biden was forced out.

Almost more interesting is the media sudden volte face on Hunter Biden.

A CNN panel reacted on Wednesday to the news that Hunter Biden reportedly sought help from the U.S. government for a possibly financially beneficial energy project in Italy while his father was vice president, and said it felt “very strange.”

“This isn‘t great. Hunter Biden, everybody in the White House has known for a long time, is an issue. The way that his lawyers responded to this disclosure saying, ‘Well, yeah, he sent letters but did nothing wrong.’ This feels very strange to people that the vice president‘s son was sending letters or making requests to other government officials and saying, ‘Hey, would you meet with this company?’,” CNN’s Edward-Isaac Dovere said.

The killer quote however is this:

“One of the other things The New York Times reports here is that this document was suddenly shaken loose from the U.S. bureaucracy of the week that President Biden dropped out of the race,” CNN host Kasie Hunt said. “They claim it’s a coincidence.”

It’s amazing what can happen when an idiot is no longer useful

Math and Logic are important and Stacy McCain notes both with discussing the COVID Vaccines and the death of former Youtube Boss who was in charge when I was kicked off the platform:

My point is that two things can be simultaneously true: (1) the COVID-19 vaccines inflicted no serious harm on the vast majority of patients who got vaccinated against the virus, and (2) there are many thousands of people who suffered serious side effects of the vaccines, including hundreds who died as a result of getting vaccinated. You don’t need any expertise in epidemiology to ujnderstand this; it’s just simple math.

OK, so it is probably just a coincidence that pro-vaccine fanatic Susan Wojcicki died of lung cancer at age 56, a little more than three years after the COVID vaccines became available. For my friend to suggest that it was “turbo cancer” is not justified by any available evidence, and it’s probably impolite even to discuss it.

But is it wrong? Well, I can’t say that for certain, and neither can you. Logic requires that we reserve judgment when encountering the unknown, and mRNA vaccines are so new that potential side effects are definitely in the realm of the unknown.

The math is simple:

If you tell me, for example, that mRNA vaccines have been proven 99.9% safe, what you’re actually telling me is, one in 1,000 patients will suffer serious side effects. And if you’re going to administer such vaccines to many millions of people, simple multiplication tells you that there will be a thousand “bad” cases for every million of patients who get the vaccine.

As far as the death of Ms Wojcicki all I know for sure is she was loved by God and Christ died for her sins along with everyone else’s. I hope and pray that she took advantage of said mercy when offered.

I also know that you should subscribe to Stacy McCain’s substack.
