There is a big hole where they are planning to build condo’s/apartments across the street from the old Romano’s Market (Now Lopez’s Market excellent Hamburg there btw they only do ground round) as the prepare to pour the foundation.

My first thought as I saw the hole was wondering if they would find anyone there. After all this was the Sicilian neighborhood of Fitchburg for many decades and the car dealership that was once there wasn’t there forever.

I often joke that you can tell you’re in a Sicilian Neighborhood because the shovels and lime are at the front of the hardware store. It’s one of the reasons why the urban riots you’ve been hearing about never quite manage to reach Italian/Sicilian neighborhoods

Unexpectedly of course

Of course Sicilians aren’t the only people who manage to keep their neighborhoods safe, to wit:

Toledo [a gang banger killed by police] was from Little Village, the main Mexican neighborhood in Chicago. During the George Floyd Memorial Riots last May, Latin Kings gang members took up armed patrol of Little Village and drove off carloads of potential black looters. So, in retrospect, it’s easy to see why black / Mexican solidarity turned out to be a chimera.

It’s almost as if the Democrats’ Coalition of the Fringes doesn’t quite jibe with the Democrats’ assumption of Black Supremacy.

It’s the certainty of punishment that prevents such crime and the certainty of no punishment that encourages them.

I have been saying since the Democrat crime ways began that if the various Sicilian Mafias offered to provide actual protection to a neighborhood from the Democrat crime waves hitting major cities they would have a major cash cow potential, The shop owners would find it worth the cost, the police would be happy to not have to deal with these problems when they know the local DA’s will not prosecute anyways and the various Insurance companies would be thrilled to not have to worry about giant large scale payouts.

More importantly for the mob is that people who are actually being protected are less likely to do anything to the people protecting them nor are likely to complain about other, shall we say less savory income streams said mobs are generating for themselves.

I’d not be surprised if this is already happening very quietly and unofficially, sort of like the deal between the mob and the feds during WW2 to keep enemy spies out.

Speaking of Sicilians apparently at least one of the Cuomo brothers is no fool:

You can be damn sure he kept more than emails as I suspect his brother the Governor has and they will have no compunction about using them to bring down people if and when they decide the time is right.

Anyone who is surprised by this knows nothing about Sicilians. As Tom Hagan said to a Senator once “All that’s left is our friendship.” When that friendship is gone look out.

Finally one of the hardest things about being both a devout Catholic and a Sicilian is the giant conflict that comes about when one is wronged.

The Sicilian wants vengeance and wants it badly while the devout Catholic sees vengeance for what it is and resists it.

Of course for some this conflict is easily solved:

I suspect the end quote of that clip is very popular in mob circles

It was great to be Catholic and go to confession, you could start over every week”

Of course such a person needs to be informed about the sin of presumption. But for those who don’t bother to know their faith ignorance is bliss, at least on earth.

I think those on the right who are celebrating the fall of the House of Cuomo both in NY & at CNN as a victory for us. I disagree, it’s not so much a victory as it is the embodiment of a basic truth of the left which is this: If you have power to aid and abet their cause of the left you will be protected by them & their media, academic and entertainment allies, but once you no longer have that power your usefulness is at an end and said protection is gone.

Cuomo’s fall, while satisfying simply means that they are no longer useful to the cause and thus are no longer guaranteed the protection or deference that the left’s institutions once provided. In fact the only protection they have is whatever knowledge they have of others on the left who have done as bad as them or worse.

Last month I was at lunch with my brothers who are both much more conservative than me (I’m practically the liberal of the group) and the subject of both Fauci & Pelosi came up.

While they despise them both with a passion they also noted that they were both very smart in the sense that while their actions have been detrimental to the nation they successfully used said actions to gain personal power, wealth and security.

These actions might be unethical, dishonest and dishonorable even to the point of being evil but given the end result for themselves were certainly not stupid, except of course in a theological sense.

Speaking of falls Charlie Baker AND Karen Politio have decided to call it quits not seeking a 3rd term as governor and Lt. Gov of Massachusetts.

There have been ups and downs. On the down side the pair are horrible on social issues, particularly abortion and their opposition to President Trump is why the left likes him as much as they do in the state. On the plus side Baker is an able and competent administrator and I suspect with some cause the reason while Massachusetts in general and Fitchburg in particular did not go the way of Kenosha or Minneapolis when BLM came calling was due to his quiet actions.

A lot of conservatives will not be sorry their gone, at least not until a completely woke Democrat gets the job and does their best to turn the state into California.

There is word that the Democrats will go all in on abortion for the midterms as the potential for SCOTUS reversing Roe seems good after oral arguments.

While I think it’s not wise to 2nd guess the court, particularly any court run by old yellowstain Justice Roberts it’s a most logical move on their part.

Of course all of this was inevitable because the future belong to those who show up and spending generation killing off your potential voters is not a long term plan for success.

Finally for the past month there has been a lot of speculation on dumping Kamala Harris.

I’m not buying any of it. Harris is in an elected not an appointed position and unless you have actual impeachable offenses and the willingness of the house and senate to remove her she’s not going anywhere. All this talk is just talk.

And seriously why would she resign? What is the actual gain for her? It’s not like everyone doesn’t already know how she got to where she is and frankly I don’t that there is anything hidden in her past that is more corrupt than what the Biden’s are openly doing.

Candidate Cuomo

The hashtag #PresidentCuomo has been trending on Twitter.

Musings about Cuomo as the Democrat nominee have come from everywhere on the left, including DaTimes columnist Maureen Dowd and MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.

If Democrats think Andrew Cuomo is the answer to their Joe Biden problem, think again!

The Trump ad campaign would start with Cuomo’s own words rolling on the screen:

“We’re not gonna make America great again.

It was never that great.

We have not reached greatness….”

Even an audience of Cuomo’s supporters booed when he said that in 2018.

But there’s more. Cuomo is an alleged Roman Catholic who supports late-term abortions, same-sex marriage, and divorce. That’s a troubling trifecta for religious conservatives throughout the land.

But there’s even more.

Cuomo pushed for the NY State Act, which he described as the most stringent gun control law in the United States.

The New York governor, who has spent nearly all his life in government, has opposed hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking and would stimulate the economy in Upstate New York. All you have to do is drive along the border of Pennsylvania, which fracking is allowed, and New York to see the difference in how much better the economy is south of the border.

If the Democrats are thinking about appealing to Republicans, here’s Cuomo on what he considers “good” members of the GOP.

“Their [Republicans’] problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

If you go to https://www.ontheissues.org/andrew_cuomo.htm, you’ll find a host of issues that would make Cuomo unpalatable for many Americans.

–Raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.
–Expand Obama Care.
–Opposes school vouchers.
–Tax the wealthy.
–Expand trade with Cuba.
–Supports the Green New Deal.

If the Democrats want to dump Joe and go with Andrew, it’s like trading for a younger Bernie. And think about the possibility that his younger brother, Chris of CNN, might be the White House spokesman. That’s a sobering thought whatever your politics are!
