It’s not often that you see DaTechGuy’s laws of media outrage get violated.

When I heard about the shooter in Nashville being Transgender I presumed like the school shooting in Denver that it would disappear under DaTechGuy’s Third Law of Media Outrage which states:

The MSM’s elevation and continued classification of any story as Nationally Newsworthy rather than only of local interest is in direct correlation to said story’s current ability to affirm any current Democrat/Liberal/Media meme/talking point, particularly on the subject of race or sexuality.

But looking at the responses online I suspect the media sent too “all in” on the story early and now being unable to pivot away quick enough to make it a local story per DaTechGuy’s 3rd law has decided to go all in on DaTechGuy’s 2nd Law of Media Outrage which states:

The level of acceptance of the positions and/or actions of any group or organization by the left and media is directly proportional to their current or potential value in electing liberal Democrats.

In other words it appears they’ve decided to use mass murder by an “Oppressed transgender shooter ” to attack Red states that might dare make any laws that they claim might drive such a person to murder.

In fact this usage actually fits under the 3rd law because such a narrative affirms a current Democrat/Media talking point on a matter of sexuality.

I would hope that to normal people this attempted pivot would be a bridge too far and the beginning of the end of celebrating mental illness as normal behavior to be celebrated but I suspect not because once a culture decides to go Godless it becomes a question of “how low can you go”.

I don’t think they’ve reached bottom yet.

The first primaries and caucus’ for the 2024 presidential election are just under a year away but Donald Trump is wasting no time going after who would be his strongest potential rival for the GOP nomination, the very popular and successful governor of Florida Ron DeSantis.

For the last couple of week’s both Donald Trump himself and Team Trump have thrown mud everything from claiming DeSantis was a big fan of lockdowns (he wasn’t) to claiming George Soros endorsed him (he didn’t). None of this is a surprise, Donald Trump has always fought like a Democrat against potential rivals/ You might recall he used similar tactics against Ted Cruz in the primaries and frankly went so far that I had to think long and hard before endorsing him before the GOP primary. You might also recall that there was a big fuss concerning Ted Cruz’s speech at the convention because of these tactics.

In the end Cruz ended up supporting him and when Trump, to a lot of people’s surprise and delight, turned into not only the most conservative but the most successful president of the 21st century we all cheered. It was however his failure to address the issue of voter fraud (something I warned him about five days after the 2016 election) that cost him him re-election in 2020.

Now comes another GOP primary and the Democrats who were happy to promote him in 2016 are again convinced that Trump is their best shot in 2024 to keep power after putting the country through two of the hardest years it’s faced when not fighting a world war (I don’t count Ukraine as US troops are not actively fighting on the ground). Furthermore as Demonstrated by their love affair with Mitt Romney they will never fail to promote the message of any member of the GOP who targets his own party.

So Trump has turned to attacking DeSantis and the Trump hating press/left have been happy to repeat these attacks (What? You thought Meta/Facebook/Instagram let Trump back in because they were scared of the GOP congress? Please!) and will continue to give him such a free reign as long as DeSantis who they fear, is in the crosshairs. Th consistant with DaTechGuy’s 1st Law of Media Outrag with states:

The level of Outrage or interest of the media and their allies on the left concerning any insult or prevarication concerning a person or thing will routinely be equal to the inverse of the degree of the political distance between said media / leftists and and the target of said insult or prevarication at the time it is made.

The question is however: “Does this help or hinder Donald Trump to get the GOP nomination?” In My Opinion it does not for several reasons:

  • DeSantis has been visibly fighting the media/left since the day he was elected
  • He has been public enemy #1 for the left, the woke and the groomers in the press
  • He has managed very public victories such as the one over Disney advancing conservative cause.
  • People keep pouring into his state fleeing from the blue states
  • DeSantis who had won his first election by a squeaker won re-election by a landslide in a year when the rest of the GOP fizzled

and last but not least:

  • Not only are these charges demonstrably false GOP partisans, even those who prefer Trump KNOW they are false

Even worse for Trump DeSantis has taken the exact right tactic to counter said attacks.

  • Pointing to his work
  • Hitting Joe Biden
  • Declining to attack other republicans

Or to put it simply he’s not giving Trump’s attacks the time of day.

Now Donald Trump, despite his vigor is an old man and one thing that’s almost axiomatic is you aren’t going to get a man over 70 to change his nature. If in his gut he thinks this is the way to go it will take a lot of convincing to get him to change course.

All this adds up to a tactic that is not going anywhere nor is likely to go anywhere and even worse makes Trump vulnerable to a simple counter-attack that DeSantas hasn’t used yet, but that’s another post.

Chris Rock: No Sex in the Champagne Room 1999

At Michigan State University someone started shooting last night

You had 8 shot three dead, this was a situation made for the left to exploit. One State rep quickly went on the attack and then came the congresswoman.

This had all the potential to be a national story with national coverage and days of beating of the breast, and then the suspect who killed himself was identified:

And here comes DaTechGuy’s third law of media outrage:

The MSM’s elevation and continued classification of any story as Nationally Newsworthy rather than only of local interest is in direct correlation to said story’s current ability to affirm any current Democrat/Liberal/Media meme/talking point, particularly on the subject of race or sexuality.

Convicted felon, known to police, in a gun free zone, carrying illegally, and black, add those together and you have a story that doesn’t advance the effort to disarm citizens.

So I predict this story won’t last beyond today or tomorrow at the latest.

Unexpectedly of course.

Closing thought: Here is an interesting story from the NYT on another shooting that didn’t manage to get a lot of national attention.

And it looks like the New York Times may have finally figured that out. After a murder took place in Times Square on Thursday night, the paper openly questioned why posted signs banning guns from the area didn’t stop the violence. “The shooting was the first since the creation of the expansive, signposted zone, the police said in a statement, and it immediately renewed questions about whether such a designation can truly protect the area,” the so-called paper of record reported.

“People feel emboldened to carry guns on the street,” said Tom Harris, a retired New York City police inspector and the president of the Times Square Alliance, told the Times. “A gun-free zone is not going to stop a criminal from carrying a gun.”

Well it’s been 24 hours since the first part of Mia Cathell’s Town Hall’s story about the Zulock gay pedophile ring case out of Georgia:

LGBTQ-pride paraphernalia littered the family’s extravagantly furnished four-bedroom, five-bathroom house (plus a packed three-car garage), including a rainbow Mickey Mouse stuffed animal placed atop a “Love Above All” pillow on the foyer’s loveseat, where Zachary was swarmed by the SWAT team, and a neon “Love is Love” sign that adorned the kitchen’s granite countertop.

And it’s been 24 hours since my post noting the lack of interest in the story not only on the national level (in accordance with DaTechGuy’s 3rd law of Media Outrage) but even on the local level

it seems that this is not considered all that newsworthy on the local level. If you do a search of the Atlanta Journal Constitution for the name “Zulock” you will find it comes back with no results. (As a control I did a search for “Trump” on the same page and my cup overflowith.)

If fact if you do a duck duck go search for Zulock under “news” the only result under “News” for the name “Zulock” in Duck Duck go is a story in the Walton Tribune saying they are due back in court.

That post has been one of the most popular posts on this site in a while as it spread through Twitter like wildfire (something that didn’t happen much in the pre-musk days for some reason).

Well Mia Cathell is back for part 2 of her series and it doesn’t get any more pleasant:

Law enforcement learned from Lawless there was “a secondary suspect” “producing homemade child sexual abuse material with at least one adopted child who lived in the home with the perpetrator,” Walton County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a press release.

Lawless allegedly met Zachary through a mutual contact named “Blake” on Grindr, an LGBTQ hook-up app, and received “numerous” Snapchat messages from Zachary saying, “I’m going to f*ck my son tonight,” and to “stand by” for graphic visuals of the father raping his child. According to what Lawless told police, Zachary also invited Lawless “multiple times” to engage in sexual acts with him and his two adopted boys, but Lawless denied having had any physical contact with the Zulock boys.

But as to the question of Federal Charges as per the title of the piece: Will This LGBTQ Pedophile Ring Face Federal Charges?

Could the Zulock couple face federal charges? How far-reaching is the pedophile ring and will other members be unmasked?

“We decline to comment,” a public affairs officer in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia replied when Townhall inquired if the U.S. Department of Justice has any interest in investigating and prosecuting a federal case against the Zulock co-defendants. Last year, Georgia’s DOJ office pursued a handful of child sex crimes-related cases in its jurisdiction.

Well in fairness, as the story notes the DOJ during the Joe Biden era has other priorities…

(As Townhall previously reported, the Biden administration’s DOJ is preoccupied with targeting peaceful pro-life leaders and rounding up elderly Christian preachers who stand up for innocent unborn life. One father, who protested outside of an abortion clinic in Georgia’s northwest neighbor Tennessee, was arrested at home by a swarm of armed FBI agents in front of his children.)

In fairness a no comment doesn’t mean no action but with the number of out of state trips this “family” took as far away as Louisiana and Illinois the potential for Federal Charges remains.

But for the purposes of this piece I wondered if Town Hall’s running of the story resulted in any change to the search results that I had done yesterday, so I repeated them today and added a search on Yahoo for good measure.

The result from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, from Google, from duck duck go, exactly the same as yesterday, a whole lot of nothing going on and nothing based on yesterday’s Town Hall story.

Oh and Yahoo, The only result was a single link to a WSBTV.com story from five months ago.

The Blackout is continuing bigger and better than ever, the only question left is will it remain so when all four parts of Cathell’s series is released.

I wouldn’t bet against it.
