A couple of days ago I theorized that the reason you are seeing all this document stuff is that it’s a way to push Biden aside without implicating anyone else in the administration or the party.

The media’s sudden interest in the story suggests I wasn’t just whistling dixie. Ed Morrissey:

the coverage of Joe Biden’s classified-documents scandal has shifted in tone — noticeably. Until yesterday’s appointment of a special counsel by Merrick Garland, every major media outlet treated this scandal as a cynical GOP-generated distraction from Donald Trump’s legal fight over classified material held at Mar-a-Lago.

At CNN this morning, however, Don Lemon — Don Frickin’ Lemon! — scolded Chuck Schumer for trying to blow off serious questions about Biden’s behavior

Surely you jest but there’s more

Let’s take a look at the coverage on CBS News this morning, where the hosts expressed considerable frustration with the White House and especially  press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. “For the second straight day,” anchor Errol Barnett notes, “[s]he has not answered a single question, outside of a prewritten statement by the president’s lawyers.”

And that was before still more classified documents were found in his home (hopefully he keeps it locked too)

Our side has had a real field day with this stuff:

The Biden classified documents scandal is not a serious scandal. The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan is a serious scandal. Biden’s refusal to faithfully execute his duties as president of the United States by securing the southern border is a serious scandal. The Biden family pay-to-play escapades are a serious scandal. And the weaponization of the FBI and the intelligence community to interfere in the 2020 election and hand Biden the presidency is a serious scandal. This is not.

Laughable. Delicious. Outrageous. It is all those things and becomes more so by the day, with news that more classified documents are reposed in a residential garage, in addition to the closet at a D.C. think tank. And the story just becomes funnier the more the corrupt press tries to distinguish Biden’s possession of classified documents from Trump’s because Biden himself on video declared the possession of classified documents in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home to be “just totally irresponsible.”

Newsweek smells a rat:

But the timing of the leak from various federal law enforcement actors now, just as Biden is beginning the second half of his term, suggests there is real internal turmoil over at the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Perhaps someone at the DNC instructed Deep State spooks that now would be a particularly propitious time to leak sordid details to the media. Perhaps someone at the DNC thought that Joe Biden did his job by shepherding his party through the midterms without succumbing to the much-feared “red wave,” but that he is now disposable and should be replaced at the ballot in 2024 by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA). Loath though I am to speculate, it is difficult to think of a sounder explanation as to why, only now, all of this is coming out.

Biden was useful in his time but in the end the marxist left is a group who believes in utility. As soon as a useful idiot is no longer useful they are discarded (see Cheney Liz). The only thing Joe Biden is really skilled at besides collecting his 10% is going after his enemies so if you are the left and want Biden to go quietly into the sunset you need something like this to get it done.

It’s a sad thing to watch a useful idiot be demoted to just plain idiot but nobody deserves it more than Joe Biden.

One factor in the use of the government as a weapon against the Political foes of the left that isn’t discussed is that this is the fruit of the Obama years.

Obama was always a cheap Chicago pol and he used his high position to transform the federal government and the system into the Chicago way where government is used to enrich friends and punish enemies.

Till those Obama types are purged we’re not going to see things change.

In his famous appearance on Phil Donahue’s show Milton Freeman when questioned by Donahue on the excesses of capitalism replied: “just tell me where in the world you find these angels who are going to organize society for us?” This is a basic principle of life that people tend of act in their own self interest. And since most people aren’t angels particularly in government the best way to create ethical behavior is to make such behavior profitable.

That’s really the secret, if you make the rewards of honorable behavior strong enough then the risks of unethical behavior are not worthwhile.

CBS has suddenly decided that the Hunter Biden laptop stuff is real.

This in my opinion is a definite signal that they have decided than in a possible match with Trump in 2024 Joe Biden in expendable.

The real question is will Biden fight (Jill that is) I don’t think Joe has much fight in him, but he does know where the bodies are.

The moment I heard that Nancy Pelosi was dropping herself from the leadership but staying in congress all I could think of was the movie Casino with Hakeem Jeffries playing the role of Phillip Green. I suspect that the new leadership will not make any move that is not approved by Nancy as she, like Biden knows where the bodies are buried.

Personally I think the only reason for this is to remove Pelosi and a fundraising meme for the GOP.

Finally it’s starting to get cold and the heat has been on in the house. That means that the first oil delivery of the new Biden season is coming for me and a lot of other folks.

I get about 200 gallons per delivery which is going to likely run over $1000 as opposed to the $500-$600 that it would have in the Trump years.

If this doesn’t change the voting patterns of folks in New England nothing will.

President Trump has announced that he is running to return to the White House. Can somebody explain to me why if so many people are positive that he is going to destroy the chances of the GOP in 2024 why so many on the left are doing all they can to prevent him from even being elegible?

or president

Amazon is laying off 10,000 just before Black Friday. Let those of you who have insisted that we’re not in a recession let that sink in.

At my own warehouse we’ve gone from Friday being mandatory to people being offered yesterday and today off. Frankly I was tempted to take today but I’ve been out sick so many days lately I figured I’d better turn up.

I’m telling you this, if this country returns Biden to the White House after this economy then we deserve everything that happens to us and more.

A lot of fuss is being made about the rockets that hit Poland this weeks. There was a rush to blame Russia until it was discovered that is was a Ukrainian rocket. Let’s remember a few things about war that our friends who never studied it and know nothing about it need to know:

  1. Accidents happen in war, from Friendly fire to malfunctioning equipment. It’s very easy to screw up when you’re working under the pressure of someone else trying to kill you.
  2. Information is a weapon in war. All sides are going to release info to try to gain the support of others. Anyone who blindly believes what a belligerent in war says is a dope and deserves to be deceived.
  3. No plan, regardless of how elegant or well conceived survives contact with the enemy and real world conditions.

Given the track record of the “experts” on this war I’m shocked anyone consults with them.

A lot of people have conveniently forgotten that just before the war started Biden talked about the Russian seizure of the eastern parts of Ukraine as a fait accompli something to be accepted and let’s not forget he was in a hurry to get Zelensky out of there before he was turned down.

The real irony however is that Putin was likely encouraged by Biden’s show of weakness and because of this the Russians bit off more than they could chew and were revealed to be the paper tiger they apparently are. If Trump had been in Putin wouldn’t have moved period and the world would still be terrified of the Russian army instead of using it as a punchline.

That’s the dictionary definition of a Homer

Finally if you have to sum up COVID and the left in a single tweet I don’t think you can do better than this:

If this was 150 years ago the lampposts of this nation would be full of “experts”

A few days ago I was a tad surprised to see California Governor Gavin Newsom do something sane, namely attempt to keep the remaining Nuke plant in California open:

The draft legislation — which would be attached to the state’s budget as a trailer bill — would help extend the power plant’s operations for an additional five to 10 years beyond its scheduled shutdown dates in 2024 and 2025.

The forgivable loan, if authorized, would be lent by the state’s Department of Water Resources.

Diablo Canyon — California’s last remaining nuclear power plant — generates about 8.6% of the state’s total electricity supply, according to the Governor’s Office.

Now of course I’m not a fan of a “forgivable loan” to a big Utility, which is another way of saying it’s a payout so one might dismiss this a giving in to the reality of not kneecapping the power grid while making some friends with taxpayer money at the same time but with the energy crunch in California keeping that 8.6% of the power supply up is vital even if the left has done all it can to reduce demand by chasing people away.

I figured he was being mugged by reality, but then I saw this

Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would have allowed pilot programs where people could use drugs under the supervision of trained staff in San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles, a blow to a long-fought battle to tackle the cities’ overdose crises.

In his veto letter, Newsom said he has “long supported the cutting edge of harm reduction strategies” but said the unlimited number of sites allowed by the bill “could induce a world of unintended consequences.” He did not go into detail about what those consequences could be.

John Sexton at Hotair, where I saw the story has it pegged:

It’s probably safe to assume the “unintended consequences” Newsom is most concerned about about are the ones that could damage his run for president in a couple of years. … And while “safe injections sites” are an easy call in deep blue California, the idea would be a non-starter in many states.

Now a broken clock can be right twice a day but an ultra liberal California governor making two sane decision in less than two weeks? Yeah he running in 2024
