Remember Molly Norris!

Yesterday I had friends over and did not go to my laptop until rather late in the day when I discovered this was going on:

Colleyville, TX synagogue held hostage during livestreamed service; police negotiating with man. “A source on the scene told ABC News that an armed suspect took a rabbi and three others hostage and claims to have bombs in unknown locations.

A little more:

An apparently armed man took a rabbi and his congregants hostage at a Texas synagogue Saturday, demanding US authorities release a convicted terrorist known as “Lady al-Qaeda” — and phoning a New York City rabbi in a bizarre bid for help, according to sources and reports.

So an armed man takes Jewish Hostages in a synagogue on the Sabbath and demands the release of an Al-Qaeda terrorist. Guess what the first reaction of the usual suspects was:

Because Islam of course is the victim here

News organizations played along with this business in their headlines with the BBC putting hostage in quotes and the telegraph describing the hostage taker in their lead as a: “man with English accent”

Maybe is was Cary Elwes

And the AP jumped right on the “Nothing to do with Islamic Terrorism vs Jews” with the help of an FBI whose capacity to throw what little credibility they still have left out the window has not yet reached its full potential.

Now I’m going to be there were a lot of other possible targets in a place as large as Texas that could have been targeted but he managed to find a Jewish Synagogue in the state for his crime.

Perhaps he figured that based on voting patterns in America it was the target in the state least likely to be populated by armed civilians.

But anyways it’s all over. The hostages have been freed the terrorist is dead and the Al Qaeda member in jail is still in jail (at least until her supporters discover the joys and investment potential of Hunter Biden’s artwork) and the story is done.

And when I say “done” I mean it? Why? Because of DaTechGuy’s 3rd law of Media Outrage:

The MSM’s elevation and continued classification of any story as Nationally Newsworthy rather than only of local interest is in direct correlation to said story’s current ability to affirm any current Democrat/Liberal/Media meme/talking point, particularly on the subject of race or sexuality.

If the hostage taker had been a Trump supporter or in DC on January 6th or had expressed a desire for Ron DeSantis in Florida or even had suggested that there had been the slightest possibility of fraud in the last election rest assured you would be able to find stories concerning this attack for days and weeks to come so if you were engrossed in the NFL’s wild card weekend you could catch up in a hurry once the games were done.

Alas it was an Islamist, targeting a Jewish Synagogue on the the Jewish Sabbath to release a member of Al Qaeda which means the story will be gone fast than you can say James T Hodgkinson, Terryous Jorelle Baker , Darrell Brooks or Molly Norris.

Unexpectedly of course.

Update; Told YA

And as the terror attacks come, so does the attempt to blame anybody but the true killers:

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was one of the first to muddy the waters, claiming that “foreign hands… a terrorist operation that is alien to us,” rather than homegrown jihadists, carried out the attack. “All of Egypt is targeted,” Mubarak went on, digging deeper. “This blind terrorism does not differentiate between Copts and Muslims.”

Yet no mosque was targeted, and no Muslim was killed. It was a remarkable coincidence that this “blind terrorism” that did not “differentiate between Copts and Muslims” struck at a Coptic church, killing only Christians and no Muslims at all.

Yeah must have been the Flemish Menace at work, but no; Lebanese Shi’ite leader Sheikh Abdel Amir Kabalan finds a different culprit:

“This terrorist act bears the fingerprints of Zionists who keep on targeting religious sights [sic] and are working to … sow discord between Muslims and Christians.” I

Well who is going to back up nonsense like this: Well the Iranians are:

Although, at first glance, the finger is pointed at extremist Wahabi or Salafi groups, it goes without saying that no Muslim, whatever their political leanings may be, will ever commit such an inhumane act.

Attacks on churches in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and Tunisia can be analyzed in the context of a Zionist scenario aimed at driving a wedge between Muslims and Arab Christians.

Gee I don’t know why anyone would get the idea that Muslims would do violence:

Israel says it has charged two workers at the British Consulate in Jerusalem with arms trafficking, in connection to an alleged plot by militants to fire a rocket into a football stadium.

Or maybe this:

The latest bloody attack on Iraq’s Christians was brutal in its simplicity. Militants left a bomb on the doorstep of the home of an elderly Christian couple and rang the doorbell.
When Fawzi Rahim, 76, and his 78-year-old wife Janet Mekha answered the doorbell Thursday night, the bomb exploded, killing them, Mekha’s brother told The Associated Press on Friday. Three other people, apparently passers-by, were wounded.
“When I went there, I found both of them cut to pieces near the gate of their house,”

Or maybe this

According to eyewitnesses, a green Skoda car pulled up outside the church shortly after midnight. Two men got out, one of them talked shortly on his mobile phone, and the explosion occurred almost immediately after they left the scene. On the back of the Skoda was a sticker with the words “the rest is coming” (video of car explosion and Muslims shouting “Allah Akbar”).

It was reported that the bomb, locally made, had 100KG of explosives in addition to having nails, glass and iron balls inside. The strength of it not only caused glass panes to be shattered in all the neighborhood, but also made body parts fly into the building’s fourth floor, and to the mosque facing the church.

or this:

Eyewitnesses confirmed that security forces guarding the church withdrew nearly one hour before the blast, leaving only four policemen and an officer to guard such a big church and nearly 2000 people attending the midnight mass. “Normally they would have waited until the mass was over,” said el-Gezeiry.

Well it’s not as if respectable Egyptians are making wild charges

A coalition of Egyptian lawyers accused Israel of being behind an terror attack in Alexandria that killed 22 members of the Christian Copt sect attending midnight mass on New Year’s eve, Army Radio reported Monday.

And of course leading Muslim clerics are standing with the Pope in his request that world leaders protect Christians under attack, aren’t they?

The call, [from Pope Benedict to respect the lives of Christians…] following a deadly church car-bombing in northern Egypt, was “unacceptable interference in Egypt’s affairs,”

Although at least he condemned the bombing and met with the Coptic Pope.

One problem with the argument blaming Israel is the tactic involved as Captain Ed explains:

The bomber died in the blast, according to Egyptian officials, which would tend to rule out the Mossad, which doesn’t exactly have a track record of conducting suicide bombings.

See it’s gotta be the Flemish menace! But when it comes to killing Christians, Andrew Sullivan manages to blame Bush.

Stacy McCain while writing on the subject of Frank Rich’s column ( a painful task always since it involves reading it) accidentally or on purpose crystallizes the difference between Radical Islam and mainstream religion that Pam Geller made points about yesterday on my show.

Rich decries the pulling of a taxpayer-funded Christmas exhibit that had ants crawling over a crucifix and called those who demanded it be removed bigots and homophobes.

Stacy’s take-down of the self-righteous Mr. Rich should of course be read in full but it is this sentence that is of interest to me.

That article prompted William Donohue of the Catholic League to send suicide-bombers to maim and murder innocent women and children ask Catholics to call the museum and complain.

And herein lies the difference. Roman Catholics call and complain, radical jihadists don’t.

By an odd coincidence an even better example of this difference became apparent yesterday. Another person acting on behalf of a different religion that Mr. Rich doesn’t deign to critique decided to voice his objects to a set of cartoons in a slightly different fashion as reported by Mr. Rich’s own paper:

One man was killed and two other people were injured when two explosions hit the heart of Stockholm’s city-center shopping district on Saturday evening, the police in the Swedish capital said. The country’s foreign minister called the blasts a terrorist attack, and an e-mail to news organizations minutes before the blasts seemed to link them to anger over anti-Islamic cartoons and the war in Afghanistan.

Although many right leaning bloggers decided to condemn this act of barbarous terror Mr. Rich has however decided to courageously spend his time critiquing American citizens who object to their tax dollars being used to offend them and decided to peacefully exercise their 1st amendment rights to make their objections known.

Mr. Rich, as an elite journalist of the left, has the courage to see beyond mere murder to locate the real danger to our society.

Plus he knows Catholics won’t harm him for criticizing them.

Any questions?
