…in Time all I could think of was Robert E. Lee’s quote about Union Generals:

“I fear they may continue to make these changes till they find some one whom I don’t understand,”

Until the left gets someone who figures it out they will continue to live by their golden rule: There is no issue, so pressing, so vital, so damning to their philosophy that it can’t be countered by the cry: Palin Sucks!

Update: Yup I misspelled his name, that’s what I get for scheduling posts at 3 a.m.

I visited every ward in Fitchburg to check on the turnout on Election day

My voting place Ward 6

As always the ladies were delightful

Checking the names

In every ward except ward 1 the turnout was reported as light, below avg. There were plenty of signs for Scott Bove who was my first choice for Sheriff (lost 52-48 in the dem primary to Tom foley) and people stood at ward 1 for him, but most of the turnout looked like this:

I think the contested race on the republican ballot hurt Bove, oddly enough there was a libertarian primary ballot with absolutely NOBODY on it.

The Ballots

My last stop was Ward 2, I had actually planned on stopping there later with my camera but I had time to kill while waiting for my son to finish golf practice. The ladies there were pretty much democrats and we talked for a bit. I told them about the travels of my hat, they asked me what I thought would happen in the election. They were not fans of Martha Coakley, John Olver or Sarah Palin although I did defend Sarah and they seemed to moderate. One thing they were united about was her daughter Bristol.

I mentioned how people where going after Palin because of her daughter getting pregnant and mentioned how I saw high school students attacking her for it back in 2008. To a lady they defended Sarah at this point and VERY strongly.

The gist was that you raise your children the best you could and taught them the best you could but you can’t make them make the right decisions. They had only venom for people who hit her on that. Each of those ladies had children and knew that those kids didn’t always hold up the side.

The point being that a room that was maybe 30-70 against Palin in Mass was 100% defending her when you went after her kids. If Democrats have 24 months to get this through their head.

Update: As for myself, my first thought when I see a young girl like that is “Is this wife material for my sons?” Stacy is right, she is as he calls her fine but if my boys brought her home I’d hesitate. It would be a tough slog to be raising another man’s kid at this stage in life. One mistake, even a big one doesn’t disqualify a young lady, and I’d wager I’d like her if I met her, but I’d ask my boys to think hard and soberly if by some miracle they came home with her on their arm.

You know what I like about Mitt Romney, his bold fearless leadership!

Mitt Romney endorses Christine O’Donnell for U.S. Senate
Today, Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC endorsed Christine O’Donnell, who is running to serve the people of Delaware in the U.S. Senate (www.christine2010.com ). It also is sending her campaign a maximum $5,000 contribution.

“Now is the time for Republicans to rally behind their nominee, Christine O’Donnell. She ran an impressive campaign. I believe it is important we support her so we can win back the U.S. Senate this fall,” said Romney.

Why lead from the front like Sarah Palin when you can lead from the rear?

Just the type you want leading the free world eh?

Well at least he is one up on Karl Rove.

It’s so bad that they gave a whole segment to a Salon Hit job that itself so bad that it has compelled lefty blogs OTHER than the reclusive leftist to rise to her defense due to misogyny:

What makes this article the worst thing I’ve read all day is the fact that most of what’s in it is the sort of shit that is considered (rightly or wrongly) the mundane business of doing politics, and yet is somehow ZOMG SHOCKING when done by Sarah Palin.

Monika Bauerlein, the co-editor of Mother Jones, tweeted: “I didn’t think anything could make me rear up in Sarah Palin’s defense, but this VF profile is close.”

It’s a sentiment I share.

I remain constantly infuriated at the number of pieces written about Sarah Palin that compel feminist/womanist women to come to her defense, or, at minimum, point out the absurdity of the coverage.

And this woman can’t stand Sarah Palin yet she is compelled to write this. SISU instead hits it flat out.

The Reclusive Leftist hasn’t touched this but she had this to say about the attack of the Ewoks:

Okay, Emily’s List? If you don’t want women (or anybody else) to think that there’s only one voice for women, then why are you obsessing over the political opinions of this one woman? In the gender-neutral world we all wish for—a world where women are half the human race and, as Gloria Steinem once said, a mediocre woman can do as well as a mediocre man—obviously women are going to be all over the map with their opinions, politics, and abilities. Just like men are. Yes? And the notion of one woman speaking for all women will be as ludicrous as the notion of one man speaking for all men. Yes? And while we’re not living in a gender-neutral world yet, we are living in a world where women have been active and prominent across the full political spectrum for decades now. Yes? And so your concern that people might think this one woman somehow speaks for all women is rather absurdly misplaced. Yes? And in fact your whole campaign seems to actually undermine the idea that women are simply half the human race and that no one woman speaks for all women. Yes?

Perhaps if “feminists” listed to her in 2008 they wouldn’t have to defend Palin in 2010.

Oh and if you think this is bad if she runs it will be a whole lot worse. Bank on it, and leading national feminists will keep silent.

Morning Joe guys, I like you but if even politico runs stories about how bad this story is, you might not want to highlight it.
